This was such a good story. I've always loved the Squadron (Supreme or Sinister). For all the comparisons of Moon Knight and Batman, people forget Nighthawk was MARVEL'S Batman.
DC also has a version of Marvel's Defenders, which had a touching story between Hawkgirl & Solomon Grundy (which was later revisited, and it was a much sadder ending).
I'll never understand how Marvel & DC could have such amazing storyline & not use 80% of these characters not gonna lie Nighthawk is such a good batman. I like em more than owl man, wonder what happened to the Sentry?
Despite some of the issues with this series, I think it's awesome how alot of small time unknown characters got "big" roles or just appearing while otherwise being obscure. Like when is the last time that Amphibian, Echo or Star brand had roles other than just cameos or in the background? It's also cool how we got different versions of characters like the silver witch or just plain "new" ones (not too sure) like golden archer or blue eagle
I like what they did with the champions (young avengers) even though miles is my favorite spiderman kinda wish they could've gave miles a different mantle
There was some aspects to this new universe I loved. Like the old nighthawk one off comic. Seeing that alternate history with that old style seemed so cool to me that I wanted more actually

Coulson was done dirty. A while ago I read mark waids short run on the agents of shield and I absolutely fell in love with the character. He was just a guy who liked to liked to learn all he could about superhero’s and many marvel fans can certainly relate. He doesn’t deserve this. To be killed off. To be brought back as a villain. To be the devils pawn. He deserved better.
This is actually one of my all time favorite Marvel storylines of all time and It could work in the mcu once characters like Mephisto, Dr Doom and the X Men are introduced. I just love seeing Marvel take some old characters and merging them together like merging Dr Doom and Juggernaut was a stroke of genius and taking some old ideas and making them reality like giving Rocket Raccoon a metal arm seems like an idea that should've been in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie and making Groot a sentient gun was another stroke of genius and giving Deadpool the personality of the Joker was another awesome idea and I absolutely loved the Silver Witch concept and just seeing Crossbones design in this was awesome
One of my favorites was a big crossover (although the whole thing might have only taken place in the pages of the Avengers, EVERYONE was involved), wherein Kulan Gath turned the entirety of the world into a Hyborian version of itself - it was AWESOME. Since Spiderman was pivotal in that, I'd love to see that story in a Spiderman movie, but I doubt Disney would go for that (they'd need to use just about everyone). Why Spiderman? He was the only one who knew the world was changed. There was even a brand-new Xmen villain introduced at the very tail-end of the story-line - Nimrod.
I like that Luke Cage is the Nighthawk's Commissioner Gordon. It works a lot better than I could have imagined. It makes me think maybe good ol'Commissioner Gordon should be a bit more of a bruiser to the Rogues of Gotham 😅
Several times people and nations have knocked Doom off the throne, *every time* the people of Latvaria aid him however they can to get him back on the throne.
I love your full story videos that go several hours man, I like to play them while I’m driving, doing house work, at work, or going to sleep, keep them coming!
Always a fan of Mephisto. Although he was more of a plot device than a character. Did he not fry Doom's face when Victor tried to rescue his mother from hell?
I’m pretty sure his face was scarred a bit from his machine to save his mom blowing up but his face was completely scared because he put on his mask while it was still hot from forging it
Mephisto always works best in the background, as the one pulling other villain's strings. Every time they used him in an overt manner, I felt it was heavy-handed (like when he changed the world and took Spidey's happy ending away). There was a great scene where Loki was brokering a deal between Mepihisto and Hela, and you can tell both the Norse gods were out-of-their-element (not in total control of the situation, like they are used to). "There's always a bigger fish".
When playing Heroclix, I love using the Squadron Supreme. But for some reason, the rules say that I can't use more than one Prime figure on my team. Guess what each Squadron Supreme member is? All of them are Prime figures. Fucking rules, man.
@@FlurarInuyi Exactly. So why are ALL of the Squadron Supreme characters Prime? To stop people from making a team? What if they released a Fantastic Four team of all Prime dials? There's no reason for it. So, I ignore it. House Rules, a team from the same comic reality can be on a team.
There's A LOT of inconsistencies in the story in the tie-ins comics to this event and I'm not sure if it was intentional just to show that the reality has a lot of "cracks" in it and everything isn't as they should OR it the result of miscommunication and chaos due to the sudden transition to work-from-home because of the pandemic.
This whole storyline is confusing but I like this Ita Dc and Marvel characters mixed into one story , this is dope, also I like how this story used the TAMSM Scene when Gwen died and Spider-Man was holding her 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥🔥
Something that is wrong with the underlying premise of this version of Heroes Reborn ..... the creation of the Avengers happened before Captain America was found in the ice ..... he didn't show up till Avengers #4 or so ....
Maybe Loki only did what he did in Avengers #1 because he knew Cap was about to be back. So if he wasn’t getting thawed Loki would cause the Avengers to come together. It could also be that the real change is Donald Blake not finding his cane, causing Loki not to come down to mess with him. I think this makes the most sense since he finds the hammer way before Cap is thawed.
He is still the Punisher in this universe but his Family is still alive and he works for this Earth's version of the Suicide Squad including Elektra, Wasp as Murder Hornet, Crossbones, Cloak without Dagger and Kingpin as Amanda Waller
Seems weird they mirrored so much of main universes, but then skipped obvious things... Like if Gwen is Nighthawks partner why'd Falcon die on bridge? For young squad mirroring new Champions, why not use that Falcon instead of Miles? He's more popular but he didn't make his power, Riri works better... Was Sam and Harry an item? That's odd not them together, but Sam is much older. You know an adult partner of Cap vs a high school student... Other small issues here and there I would've changed, but all and all it seems like a better story than what we've been getting from the New-Marvel.
I can't really say much for most but for the gwen part since she was night bird, i just assumed night hawk had lost 2 partners. 1 spiderman gwen Stacy style the other and the other bring his falcon getting off'd by an enemy similar to Jason todd in batman. I could be wrong and it might connect to ask the confusion and cracks in the universe but that's how i embedded up thinking about it.
It was a great concept/story idea that got mired by real-world agendas. And it seems a lot of the odd 'creative choices' were derived from that agenda. Certainly more could have been done, and the whole series could get readdressed/rebooted. Hell, it would make a fantastic animated series... if they let the DC guys do it. LOL
Not really, like you went into this with blade straight up noticing that this reality isn’t right. And that sentiment is echoed out multiple times throughout the story. Even the bad guys know this but don’t want anything to change. It’s not like it came outta no where and was a twist to conveniently wrap everything up. Plus it’s more than a dream since it has lingering consequences with half of the squadron being arrested and Phil going to hell. Plus it showed a bigger threat at the end.

They brought in the Counter-Earth later, does this mean both Heroes Reborn Heroes and the once we used to know until the last Onslaught Event are alive and both worlds/universes coexist ? So let’s say the main universe Thor and now another Thor who don’t want hammers ?
The only problem with this story was that Captain America was never a founding member of the Avengers. It's the other "Hero's" origin stories that or lack of one that changes that reality. If anything the missing Captain America creates hope.
You know, this could work well for an episode of What If…? For the MCU. Just swap out the Squadron Supreme for the Eternals and tweak a few details with the story and it could work.
The worst thing about wolverine's powers is his claws. Of course it would hurt every time he popped them, but after centuries of doing it, he'd be used to it, right? Wrong, because every time his knuckles healed, they were as sensitive as a baby's. That's some fucking torture.
Was this some pocket universe that made the team win all the time? I saw a LOT of plot armor as just about every cosmic being (who could have sensed something was off) went down.
The whole thing to me was just Jason Aaron writing his most gratuitous, "devastating" fantasy battles. Like some of the Grant Morrison runs of genocide by destroying millions in Genosha, or stabbing in the back through the heart so the victim sees the bloody sword in front. Or Alan Moore with Barbara Gordon and the Commissioner in The Killing Joke...

I died laughing when he said Hawk Cave! 🤣🤣🤣
They some assholes for real! Lol! Love it yet hate it at the same time.
Anyone know if the writers speak about this in any interviews or anything? I could just search for it myself but I don't feel like it lol
The hawk cave is hilarious
Especially when it doesn’t makes sense considering his motif. Shouldn’t it be Night Nest?
The Green Arrow has the Arrow Cave.
@@msmaria5039 And it should be called "The Quiver" 😆
The number of times i kept thinking this one was a very strange dc story is astounding
Squad is so OP took out Galactus the infinity gauntlet Phoenix Starbrand Mangog. Omg 😳
@warwik Xio thanos with the infinity rings vs Hal jordan with the lantern rings who would win?
It’s Mehphisto. He’s being a jerk
At least avengers took out DC Aquaman Hawkman Atom and Green Arrow equivalents
thanks guys. read all of this, but knew it'd be improved by your narration.
Heck Yeah the Comic Book Story is finally.
Here
You say that every time
@@Cxhxrt they are not wrong
I like Nighthawks storyline. Kinda wish it became true. A African American Batman that deals with issues in “chocolate City” DC with a predominantly black cast would be a absolute dream come true for me
Thx man! You are the best!
Good God good Sir. This is an amazing video. I found out about your channel from Comics Explained-Rob and I must say You Sir are amazing in the way you represent stories. This one was confusing as @^#$% but no matter that I enjoyed your narration as if I was watching Trough The Wormhole with Morgan Freeman. You got that spunk that keeps you on your feet while watching. Thank you for that Sir Benny! Salute.
34:20 a race against DEATH doesn’t that sound familiar
They brought in the Counter-Earth later, does this mean both Heroes Reborn Heroes and the once we used to know until the last Onslaught Event are alive and both worlds/universes coexist ? So let’s say the main universe Thor and now another Thor who don’t want hammers ?
Wish dc had a marvel version storyline
Apparently they do. I read a comment saying so
Lobo the Racoon vs a Pre-Rebirth Parallax.... Dope
Damn this story was good , definitely better then some of marvels pass major events
Benny yer insane fer narrating this story!!!!
The only problem with this story was that Captain America was never a founding member of the Avengers. It's the other "Hero's" origin stories that or lack of one that changes that reality. If anything the missing Captain America creates hope.
Amazing work benny!
As time has passed, so has May. Savage
Respect to you. So damn good adaptation - thanks!
When i was young my granny called farts poots... so, when you say night pooter..... lol
as someone from Arkansas, the concept of everyone in my state becoming flying sharks is hilarious
Great content as expected
I really like this spin on the squadron supreme origins :) :) :)
Keep it up!
Amazing as always
THIS IS THE CRAZIEST FUCKING STORY IVE EVER HEARD!!!!
BUT I LOVED IT!!!! 20 STARS
You know, this could work well for an episode of What If…? For the MCU. Just swap out the Squadron Supreme for the Eternals and tweak a few details with the story and it could work.
Got a kick outa benny calling Arcanna, Aracna.
It urks me 🤣🤣🤣
The worst thing about wolverine's powers is his claws. Of course it would hurt every time he popped them, but after centuries of doing it, he'd be used to it, right? Wrong, because every time his knuckles healed, they were as sensitive as a baby's. That's some fucking torture.
Lord Drakkon is the best character. R.I.P. JDF
Thanks!
Damn..... that was amazing

Ohh… oh *Yaaayyy*
_It’s Phoenix Echo_
Now we just need some *Inhumans & Miss Marvel* and we have…
Ohhhh yeahhhh!
Hawkman has hawkarangs!!!
