I thought the same thing, that this band and TSSF sound similar, i figured that's why they're on the same record label. Pretty cool since they're from different parts of the world. Both of them have become one of my favorites band in a quick amount of time.
They're influenced by the story so far and tbh I prefer them more , they're fantastic , doesn't matter if they're similar just enjoy the god damn music !

So just because they have scooped mids means they sound exactly like TSSF and they should change how they sound? That's not fair. TSSF hasn't claimed the "scooped mid" sound because they can't. If Neck Deep wantes to have scooped mids, they can. Don't worry about the EQ and focus on what sound you like.
I only got into Neck Deep because they sound like TSSF, i love the sound they both have, probably because it is very similar but it doesn't bother me :)
I'm personally not bothered about how it sounds. Does it sound similar to other Pop Punk? Sure. But, let's be honest, bands in the same genre tend to sound the same. Neck Deep are just starting out, so they'll be taking inspiration from other bands before expanding. I mean, look at Muse. For their first album they were accused of copying off of Radiohead, and now they have six albums that all sound radically different and unique. Give Neck Deep a chance to expand before you criticise them.

I like TSSF but Neck Deep are the real kings of pop-punk. I actually think they are unique.
