Completely agree with Horizon Chase Turbo at #1. So easy to just picky up and have a fun time with. I just picked up Hotshot Racing, but I still need to get use to the controls on that game. Seems like it will be great once I get use to it.
Virtua Racing on Switch is the “Best” version of this game available, and It’s really fun to play! It’s sad that SEGA is not realeasing more SEGA AGES games on Switch. I was really hoping to see Sega Rally or Daytona.
Don’t let the free to play / mtx of Asphalt 9 scare you off, it’s deserving of the top 3 arcade racers. Plays like Burnout, spectacular crashes, some of the best graphics on Switch and an insane amount of content. They do constantly try to sell you stuff, but I haven’t had to spend a penny and can play for pretty long sessions. Great video, keep up the great work guys!!
Thanks buddy, agree a good game, we just liked these for the top 10 although that is why we believe lists like these are good as we can have discussions about games that should be in the 10. Looks like a lot of votes for Asphalt 9. Which one would we take out? Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Hmmm I’d say maybe remove Redout? I haven’t tried it, but may now when it hits $10 again 🤔 But FastRMX is so good I don’t know if it could compare. Here’s hoping for more Burnout remasters or a new Ridge Racer entry 🤞🏼
@@kubby74 we included two anti gravity games so maybe one could be removed but both are fantastic. There were a couple of other games which we could have put in. I think when you have to put in just 10 it can be really tough. We want to do this with a few other Genres but some have over 30 or 40 great games. That will be tough 😃 thanks again for your thoughts. Can't wait to make top 10 SIM racers
Card Game Emporium sometimes is easy to get an online race (sometimes) but the game is very new.. maybe in 1-2 weeks the game will be full of online racers
Great video, it deserves more views. I already own Horizon Chase Turbo and I like it very much; I hope they release a sequel with the same amount of new content one day...if it sold decent enough, it's not unlikely. I wanna try Hot Shots Racing, I've read a lot of praise for it. IMO an arcade racing MUST have a hefty number of different tracks & locations to be worthwhile, since most of them have good gameplay.
Awesome list! I'm surprised I actually have half the games on this list. Missing Burnout, Hotshot, Inertial drift, outrun, and Rise. Waiting for burnout to drop to that $20 mark. Not sure which I will get first out of inertial drift & hotshot
@@SwitchWatch Yeah it's tough because Hot Shot seems to have more to offer overall but I really dig the art style of Inertial Drift seems like a mashup of NFS carbon with NFS nitro. Plus I really want to try the control scheme.
Absolutely superb list, Juan! Very cool to see the mentions of both Virtua Racine and Redout here (they were two of my first purchases when I hot my Switch, and Virtua Racing was the first game I played on my Switch). The only thing I might change out would be putting in Star Wars Episode 1 Racer in instead of Burnout (I liked Paradise too on my Xbox 360, but enjoyed the prior Burnouts even more). I will add that Xenon Racer has been much, much improved upon from what I first read about it (got my Switch long after it first came out, so I didn’t experience until after the patches) and it certainly helped that I scored the game recently on a sal for $4.99. Like you, I’d love to see both Sega Rally and Daytona on the Switch with my ideal version of Daytona being the excellent Daytona Championship Edition that was released on the Dreamcast. I would absolutely love to see Ridge Racer make its way to the Switch with my ideal version if it being a remastered take on the first four PlayStation games. Again, great list!
Brilliant comment, loved reading this as you know your racers! I must admit I considered Star Wars but it wasn't a stand out for me. Even though I have bought it again from Limited run. Can't help adding physicals to my collection. I think there are a few we could play with swapping or even expanding the list. Kart racers are also considered "arcade racers" but I really wanted to not include any of those as I think there are enough of those to form a list. In fact we made one a while back. Would be interesting if we missed those in what would be considered the best. MK8 perhaps? Hence I wanted to keep it apart. The Sega ages games for me are the type of racers I always think of when thinking about Arcade racers. I played them so much in my teens and have very fond memories of Daytona, Virtua Racing and Outrun. I would love to see more brought over. I agree Redout is very good too. Hopefully the list has a good mix for all
I think Super Street Racer is extremely under rated. I have like 20 hours in that game and still haven't completed everything. It's gameplay is tight and responsive and it got the AI just right unlike Burnout where you can't lose if you tried.
Awesome buddy, glad you like that one, it was one we considered to put in. If you had to put it in this 10 where would you put it and what would you take out? Thanks Juan.
@@SwitchWatch I own all of these except Inertial Drift. I bought most of them after your reviews. Keep up the good work. I would rearrange the whole list. The one I'm taking out is definitely Rise Race The Future. Every time I play it my car gets turned just a little and then I spin around. In the game after you spin around once you can't catch up. Its usually the AI hitting me that makes me spin. So frustrating. You know Need For Speed Hot Pursuit is coming soon. That will be my number one Arcade racer. Thank you for all your great videos.
Great list and I totally agree with most of your choices! Kudos for including the fun Sega Ages versions of OutRun & Virtua Racing ... so sad that the Sega Ages line will release no more games after Herzog Zwei. As you say there were plenty of other great racing games they could have offered a new generation of players. I love Fast RMX and Redout, probably play them the most of any games on this list (though Redout is far better on PS4). Glad to hear that Hotshot Racing just about measures up to Horizon Chase Turbo -- games like that are always good for a bit of fun. Racing games are pretty diverse these days -- I love Forza Horizon 3 & 4 and Dirt Rally 2.0 the most in the current gen of racers, but there are so many other games with different play-feel to explore. Now if only there were true and fun successors to my favorite racers of days gone by: Ridge Racer Type-4 from Namco, and MSR/PGR 1&2 from Bizarre Creations. They just don't make 'em like that any more!
This is an awesome comment, thanks for taking the time to write it. I totally agree with you on all of it. I would love to see more of my fav racing games coming to the Switch
I bought Fast Racing Neo on the Wii U. It’s fantastic. Not buying another digital version of it. I really don’t get why nobody has produced a physical version of this. I would buy it instantly.
Think I mentioned it in my review. For a cool control scheme I think you would probably really like Inertial Drift. Something different and more technical.
I had a similar problem, until someone on Fast RMX Discord told me that you should not be holding the trigger buttons to strafe, but tap them (as many times you need to). Also strafe more than steer, as steering slows you down. The tapping of strafe is a gameplay specific in Fast RMX, as opposed to most other anti-grav racing games, and is just not explained in the game, unfortunately. After that, my track performance massively improved!
FINALLY someone who understands that Burnout Paradise has some serious design flaws that destroyed that game and the franchise! It's abysmal to have to look at maps and little flickering street signs at the top of the screen while going 290kph in cars that explode if you breathe on them IS NOT FUN! Paradise destroyed the franchise! Burnout 3 and Revenge are the top!
Glad you don't think Burnout Paradise is that good when compared to the other Burnout games. Never understood why suddenly this seemed to be elevated to worthiness. Having NO crash junctions removed a major part of Burnout. And having no markings of where you're meant to go in a race means like you say you have to constantly check the map meaning you can't actually enjoy the thrill of racing. And if you want to retry that particular race you have to drive back to that same junction, no quick restart! So in conclusion BP takes all the good bits of Burnout and either ignores them or tramples them into the ground.

Nice list mate! I actually really liked inertial drift, very unique that one. HCT is definitely top dog! Mark
