- This is a video review of Hasbro's 1984 vintage Generation one Transformers Autobot Trailbreaker! In this video I talk about the origins of Trailbreaker and showcase other G1 Transformers as well!
The way you do reviews. You are truly a transformer archivist. Thank you for your dedication.
there's more to these reviews than meets the eye.
Wow I appreciate you saying that very much!
I also had those 4x4 trucks. I didnt have Trailbreaker as a kid, but my best friend did. A few years ago, I came across a G1 Trailbreaker and after a few repairs and some parts swapping, he is now 1 chrome missle away frim being 100% complete. And seeing as that same friend and I (now in our mid 40's) are still friends, I am giving it to him as a gift for opening his own shop.
Whoah, that's what great friends do! Awesome 👍👍👍
Beautiful toy story ! Thanks for sharing!
Another nice video I enjoyed, my man pulled up the stomper, one battery and headlights, rough riders, brought me back again, our childhood toys were classic.
Yes! The headlights light up! I totally forgot! Wow! You see that's why I tell stories because someone else has better ones! Thanks!
Makes even more excited for the Earthrise version!
Great review! Transformers has a black Toyota 4x4 and MASK has a similar looking black Ford Bronco 4x4, which always reminds me of this one for some reason. Lol
I remember the day well. My mom took me to Maxwell's and I got trail breaker and hoist and then we went to Jamesway and I got the cobra ferret and water moccasin. It was an awesome day. Thanks for the video.
Sounds like a awesome day! Wow! Thanks for sharing.
I love Trailbreaker! Didn't have the toy as a kid but still one of my all-time favourites. I did have a couple of Stompers though :)
Those Stompers were so cool!
I LOVE this figure. I need to get my hands on this one day. I remember getting him as a kid. I guess it didn't survive childhood because I don't have it anymore.
I had like 2 or 3 of the battery operated 4x4s. I loved them and forgot about them until now.
Someone committed they were called STOMPERS!!! I had totally forgot!
he was one of my first for Christmas
Lol! I had a lot of those Stompers as a kid. I use to love those things.
STOMPERS!!!!!!! I COULDN'T REMEMBER THAT FOR THE LIFE OF ME!!!! Thank you!
Great videos your absolutely right about the similarity with the double a battery tyco stomper 4x4 When I look at my trailbreaker I remember the same thing
Awesome review George. What a great toy. Never had him though. Thumbs up! Oh, really love your 80's retro ending theme/credits.
He was my first Transformer. When you showed a pic of that battery operated truck, I remember having one because of the wheels.
"I'm not built for speed, but I'm tough!!!"
Trailbreaker was my very first Transformer back in the day!
I really love your passion for g1 ..I would love you to do some UK reviews about the comics it was my childhood but is still apart of me. Do some USA and UK releases. X keep the reviews coming
Love this character and figure, I had Hoist but not Trailbreaker as a youth. Love this review!
I was lucky enough to have them both.
You kept him in great condition for a toy you played with 35 years ago!!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
No I purchased him about 15 years ago as a adult. I was just talking about when I had him as a kid.
Excellent review!
Thanks!
I loved those Stomper 4x4s!!! I had 3 different ones. The lights would light up too. I forgot about those Man thanx! Great memories…keep it up George:)
Always wanted Trailblazer..waiting on Earth rise version. Awesome review.✌🏾❤️
I'm looking forward to the earthrise too.
Appreciate these longer reviews. Are you doing the ‘85s?
Yes! As long as people are interested I will keep going '85 '86 and more! And thanks for watching.
9:02 Stompers! I did have one when I was a kid. Hasbro had amazing packaging for the G1 transformers. One of my favorite things was the scene on the back that changed through the years. Even though it came out first I wish the G.I. Joe packaging would've been done the same way. I love your Teletran display base! Who makes that?
I-Gear makes it. It's proper name is Computer Control Center. I did a video showcasing it not that long ago. And it wouldn't awesome if the Joe's had the artwork as well.
I got a Trailbreaker about a year ago off of ebay along with both Ironhide and Ratchet. I can't wait for that new Earthrise Trailbreaker to come out.
I'm looking forward to the Earthrise versions as well!
I love that Autobot base play set. Even has Teletran 1
I did a review of it a couple months ago. It's called Computer Control Center from Igear.
Great video! Never had Trailbreaker as a kid. Don't know why because I liked the character. I did have Hoist though.
Same here. I loved Trailbreaker, but only had Hoist. I played the heck out of that figure though. Awesome memories.
Nice story nice catalog
I definitely got to get me some g1 toys most look stupid but that's what makes them awesome I never had transformers as a kid the only one I had was the radio shack shock wave so hopefully I get to pick up a few
Radio Shack "Shackwave " counts! I had him as a kid also.
I also had the Radio Shack Shockwave.
Omg I remember those battery operated 4x4s. I had a couple. God damn I’m old
We! Are not old 😂 we are experienced!
Epic review The 80's Transformers Fan!!!!! :D Trailbreaker is amazing, he's my favorite of the 11, 1984 Autobot cars, due to two words, "black paint." :D Keep on being amazing, Double Thumbs Up. ;D
Thanks ! For some reason I'm just now able to see the comments.
@@80sTransfromersFan You're welcome. :D I've had the same problem, sometimes it's due to RUclips marking comments as potential spam, when they are not.
Great video. I never had trailbreaker but I did have hoist which was a variation on that mold
Thanks I appreciate it Hoist is cool as well and has some awesome variants also!
Trailbreaker was my first transformer. I still remember picking him out at toys r us. I also had the little battery operated trucks. I would turn it on and let it roll over my train set tracks. For some reason sparks would shoot out. I guess it bridged the electricity between the tracks.
Love it! And love the story thanks for sharing!
The cartoon head does look cartoon-accurate!!!
Trailbreaker was my very first Transformer as well. I found hoist but still looking for my main man TB!
Vintage or reissue or knockoff?
Trailbreaker remains one of the very few G1 toys I have never seen in the flesh nor held. in my adult life I got Hoist, which is close to holding Trailbreaker, but not the same, he looks soo cool in his alt mode.
I like Trailbreaker but I'm always a Hoist guy. A tow truck just seems more appealing
I feel that Hoists character was indeed a bit more fleshed out in the cartoon.
I think I prefer Trailbreaker because he came first.
@@80sTransfromersFan true gotta respect the Og's
awesome g1 toy
Great Review On G1 Trailbreaker that figure look Great in Both mode hey I question what is your top 10 favorite G1 Autobots/Decepticons Characters??
I can tell you that's part of my contest giveaway for these reviews.
How I got trailbreaker.....
So in 3rd grade, my friend Rodney was playing with his trailbreaker toy in science class. Ms Allen came by and took the toy from him and placed it in her cabnet.
Weeks later I came off a bout with a cold and my mother didn’t want me to go outside for recess.
This particular day during lunch recess, I went to ms Allen room and took the trailbreaker and stuffed it in my pocket (he was half way sticking out my pocket).
As I was walking up the hall, guess who was coming down the hall with her co worker (ms fields), I was all nervous. They asked me a question about something and they got a laugh out of what I said and kept on walking down the hall.
After recess, I went to Rodney and said, “hey I got your trailbreaker!” And unexpectedly he told me he didn’t want it. I guess he was scared 🤣
So I kept it!
True story 🤣🤣🤣
Holy crap, dude! You are like one of the coolest friends a person could have! That's like some real 007 stuff as a 3ed grader. It was cool your buddy let you have it, but man, to go out on a limb and help out your friend like that.
Wow!!! Lol! Please Please watch my Hound review I have a very similar story for Hound!
Good review as usual!
His robot mode was one of the ugliest me.
Even after the cartoon modified his look.
It reminded me of the cartoon fictional weight lifter.
The larger upper body and the small skinny legs.
His heroic force fields efforts on the cartoon, made me laugh.
But as I always say.
I'm not an Autobot fan.
So his unknown death in the classic movie gives me great joy!
😁😁😁😁😁
Power to the Primes! Lol!
I'm really looking forward to the Earthrise one. I don't know why. I'm not that attached to him. Yet I can't wait to get him.
I'm looking forward to it too.
Love it 🤘🏻

I'm still searching. I did a toy hunt today and found nothing.
I’m sorry you can’t find it
This dude had to be 2nd biggest autobot to optimus in 1984
Ironhide, Trailbreaker and Ratchet were Optimus Prime original Big 3.
How much dieccast does he have?
which model jeep is that at real ?
Trailbreaker is a Toyota Hilux 4x4.
@@80sTransfromersFan which year ?
Weren't those 4x4 trucks called STOMPERS i think.
Yes!
I still have that black 4x4 and it works. I’m willing to do a small trade if you want it.
Sounds tempting but I don't need to go down that rabbit hole lol.
That other toy was a tonka stomper
Yes did you have and play with them back in the day?
Yes i did and i still have them and the same one you showed in your video
