7:26 The wood thing is, depending on client use, either a dust cover for (at the time they were popular) VCRs or old external drives, or a shelf to place extra things on (like an elevated monitor) or both. late 80s office type stuff. You could buy them separate and just place it on top of your flat top desk, or get desks with them attached.
Luke's laugh is so contagious.
YES
OMG you WON!
Anything with Luke is an insta watch! I know he doesn't have the time that he used to but I would love it if we could see him more often I feel like he's one of the only people who could even come remotely close to replacing Linus if need ever arose😅 keep up the great work love all the stuff you do
Yeah I feel like I haven't seen him in ages... well except for like 2 hours a week on the WAN Show...
I get that a semi scripted video is different from a podcast, but if you love the guy, surely the WAN Show should satisfy that right?
LTT have really interesting characters in their roster to choose from. luke has zero charisma or wit.
@@cubertmiso but he’s been around in LTT for almost a decade by now
This video made me 100x more confident and feeling good with my own setup. Thank you guys!
This makes me feel so much better about my setup.
🤣same here bro
yeaaah thats my takeaway from this video as well. expected some sick setups but seems like even most of tech channel people dont care about their own stuff as long as its working.
compared to most of them I think my setup is better even though its cluttered and cable management sucks
I will never feel bad about my cable management again.
Though I am a vertical mouse mat heretic...
My cable management is atrocious...so I get flipped my case 90 degrees and put the cables behind it. Sometimes you just got to use all of your brain, hahahah. My desk is a folding picnic table that has a cloth on it...so, it looks like a low profile desk...
same, if i get a good gpu my setup will be better then like 70% of those setups
Linus: “I don’t like computers where you can’t upgrade the display.”
Also Linus: “our sponsor has this laptop”
yeah fuck that shit. im sick and fkn tired of hearing about upgradability when a. upgrading is stupidly expensive b. upgrable stuff is often code for fixing shit that breaks because SIs suck at making a wokring system and c. who gives a shit about displays. its its a competent display made after 2010 it will serve your hoi polloi eyeballs just fine. we're approaching a point where our degrading eyesight cant tell the difference between 4k and 16k
Badum Tss!
The thinner the bezels the harder it is to upgrade or replace the display on a laptop, too.
@@Nderak this is all just gibberish lmao, swapping a graphics card and throwing in another drive will almost never cause any problems. And idk about you, but my eyes are fine and resolution past 4k isnt even being pushed.
A computer and a laptop aren’t the same…
28:36 I used to do the same, i did it because horizontally it was a bit to narrow and my wrist touched the table, so vertically it is usually more comfortable. I have now a new one (which is also pretty small compared to those.)
I know he's super busy but man I really love when Luke is in a video
Arlo hands down my favorite part of the vid. elevated the setup to 11/10.
13:32 - I can tell editors had fun with that one
😂😂
Every day I get to hear David laughing in the background is a good day
"Whoever it is still lives at home because otherwise there's no way you put your TV in your bedroom"
With all due respect Mr. Sebastian... putting a MASSIVE tv in your bedroom is one of the best parts of living on your own and being an adult.
Please consider if this isn't something you've experienced yet.
He goes one step beyond and has a TV in his bathroom.
Seriously. I’m unsubbing for that one Linus.
Mr Linus the millionaire doesnt know some people have just an one room appartement. ^^ even his employees. ;) ☮️
@@JustSomeGuy009 hes high on his own supply
The mere pesants can only afford to put one in their bedroom
@@-VexyRS Who had a stim toy?
all those placed Pads are from Shooter Folks:
like this its enough place to pull back the mouse because the Recoil.
some nice Setups, and some funny ones too.
thank you
30:05 That's a Betta fish. Known as the Windows 7 Beta program mascot. I daily drove the public Win7 beta every version that was leaked and the wallpaper was always a variant on it.
Linus being honest as always 😊😂
After watching this video, I cleaned up my desk and removed some of the junk and put them where they belong. I also rearranged my cable management. Thank you Linus!
Massive respect for David for showcasing Einhander on his CRTs ! Super badass ps1 game!!
LOL worst game ever to emulate. Why? ANY sort of input lag, IS DEATH in that game. But yes truly a classic side scrolling shooter.
I couldn't believe he had Einhander on both his screens. Great taste!
Came down to find the other Einhänder enthusiasts. Wasn't disappointed. David just became one of my new favorite LTT employees.
@@messagedeleted1922 I have to agree so hard on that, the fact that I bought a PS1 again just for that game
13:05 - There's that Bass back there sitting up against the wall, and Linus literally asked Hofmann to play some Bass during the Upgrade thing. That's the catch right there!
I bet you'll be requiring all new applicants to provide a pic of their setup with their resume from now on :)
This is more Luke roasting Linus. Then them roasting the setups very entertaining.
Can we take a minute to appreciate Linus being the type of boss who actually knows his staff and their interests! What a guy
Luke saying yikes to a pair of open backs is crazy
I think Linus owes us a self roast video
I mean, he was roasted, for like more than an hour just a couple of years ago. Sponsored by Madrinas Coffee, it was really cool.
@@rumapark494 we need a part 2 to that roast where everyone who got roasted here gets to roast him back. 😹
He does that every other week on WAN Show.
Just let Luke roast his house and setup
I've never appreciated Dan more than seeing all his sound gear. Super awesome!
Can we appreciate how much Linus knows about his employees? Shows how much work and dedication he does for his company.
This should be an annual event, and I think Linus and Luke did a pretty good job at guessing in my opinion.
Helping Mark fabricate and achieve his 2U build dreams is an LTT video you should absolutely do.
i find it funny how they are complaining about the mouse pads but they are normal size mouse pads only since the giant ones have become a thing only since then people suddenly have a problem with normal mouse pads
“You would think you’d get bored of building keyboards- it’s right in the name” ~Linus LTT
lets take a moment to appreciate how much thought linus puts into his roasts.
You watched the whole thing in 45 seconds?
blud how did you already watch the whole video
😭
It's impossible to have watched the full video on x1 speed
Nothing compared to BitWit roasts, lol
@@Recoil21 RUclips Speedrunning seems to be a thing lately... :)
Since this seems to be increasingly difficult,, what about going through the building and performing another person’s job for the day. I think editing would be super interesting. Luke has to do it too
4:00 the nail clipper is probably to clip keyboards stabilizers, to reduce rattling!
We now need an employee racts to their setups being rosted video.
0:18 i salute whoever put the mlg hitmarker in
I didnt know so many people on the team are into music. it would be cool to have them all make an LTT song together
What like an intro theme song, anime style?
HOLY FUCK LUKE IS BACK IN A PROPER LTT VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!
The one who made this script or idea should get a raise ,not only it’s fun as hell to watch. Also give more exposure to the behind the scenes crew❤
David has great taste in his retro games. Imagine an Einhander Remake. You can really jsut imagine because Square will not let it happen.
"I've been nailing- I think I've got everyone on my team so far" nice recovery that was a close one there 12:31
hahaha
The person with the OG cooling and the clear case, they're my spirit animal, because they have a Calvin & Hobbes comic on their wall. xD
It's been a while since I've enjoyed an LTT video this much 👍🏻👍🏻
Keep it up, guys!
I’ve consistently watched this channel longer than any other RUclips channel. I haven’t upgraded tech in a couple years…this channel is just enjoyable.
3:58 - im sure someone has already said but thats a keycap puller, switch puller, tweezers, a file and a clipper next to eachother. They belong together, this is completely normal equipment for the most common keyboard mods out there.
Tom's fish (the one from the last roast) is a Beta fish, not only that, I'm 100% that is a reference to the fish Microsoft uses as the default background on beta Windows builds
It's the logo Linus. Mice can drag on the vinyl logo on the mousepads. So you rotate them to get the logo out of your range of motion.
I think I know why some people hang their mouse pad off the front of the desk. Their desk appears to have a pretty sharp edge, and if you're resting your wrist there, it probably chaffs like a mother without some sort of padding.
I hope this video has the highest analytics ever and Luke awesomely reappears more often. Everyone watch it twice!
Those suspended acoustic panels are SWEET, that's genius in SO MANY WAYS, from a performance standpoint GENIUS because spacing panels from the wall improves their effectiveness, from a smart and easy mounting standpoint GENIUS... I'm stealing it :P (I wish I'd thought of it sooner but thanks for the idea anyway)
Also yes, built ing vacuum tubes for cable routing is also genius, but I can't steal that, we don't have those in my house :P
Wouldn't the cables just get dirty from the vaccuum or not allow use of the vaccuum while an appliance is plugged in tho
@@superjive8282 they may not use the built in vacuum system any more.
15:05 I also had a monitor that did that a while ago, no idea what causes it but it did it every time it was turned on and the longer it was turned off the longer it took to return to normal, but it did always stop the weird lines thing eventually, if it was just overnight it would only take a minute to go back to normal (I've since replaced it)
It only happened when plugged in via DisplayPort, HDMI was completely fine no matter how long it was off
Funny how Linus is roasting the set-ups of his employees when he’s giving upgrades to most of them (albeit with Intel’s money).
Also, welcome back to a proper LTT video, Luke. I know you were in one of the videos regarding Linus’s new house, but it’s just nice to see you return outside of WAN Show.
Maria’s setup is my favorite, I’m sorry don’t end me. I just love how clean it is and the matching colors.
nobody noticed she signed the picture i guess
3:12 fan looked like my radiator before it cracked. I like the super organized desks areas
23:21 RIP Linus' Twitter mentions
@lisus yo bro guess who made a post about xbox
I love that Luke is back
Please bring him back more often!
He's only back because they included developer setups. Linus simply does not know any of the devs.
@@Beakerbite And thats sad
He should be back more often
Then again, Linus doesnt even know his own staff, including the people he actually knows personally and not just the boss of.
@Quesadillao Follow common sense and you wont diddle kids.
Boy Scott, I wonder whats on that hard drive buddy!
Missing the random stick of deodorant on Chase's desk is UNBELIEVABLE!! What an awesome plant by Chase! That was absolutely hilarious :)
