Here, as I'd said, I've made my first extremely low light night video using Canon M200 / M50 with stock EF M 15-45 Lens. ruclips.net/video/7zZVFOwh-D8/видео.html
New here, and just getting back into camera work, as I have a limiting iphone SE from 2020. And with a limited budget I picked up the M-fitty with that kit lens and snagged the m-EF canon mount & 50mm 1.8f. And I am a dirty, dirty darkness, not mere low light addict. I’ve been walking the streets & woods after midnight. And when I saw this I had to ask, what time if you can recall was it when you shot this sequence? I would think it’s right around sunset and just a but after? Good stuff, definitely subbing to see more!
Dacht al dat ik het prinsenpark in sommige video's herkende, maar nu ik Mol zie, ben ik er bijna zeker van! Ik ben zelf namelijk van Retie. Another great video btw! :)
I am terrible at leaving comments. However, I must say I appreciate how well you defend the M50 and show off what it can do. You’re providing tremendous value with your videos. Thank you so much. ✌️
Thanks, man! I guess, we're all spoiled with high resolution sensors and high bit rates these days but in the end... any camera will do to create something cool! And I want to show that (well... I try 🤷🏻♂️😊). Thanks for watching 🙏🏻💥
Really excellent video man! I'd just note that in order to get a combo of 50FPS/100 Shutter in M50 you have to be on PAL mode and not NTSC. if you shoot on low light with 60FPS/150 you may get some flickering...
Great one Joris! Low light footage from the Canon M50 isn't that bad if you edit it out a little. I was even mildly surprised of the results. Congrats on 13k subs :D
just sold my M50, When i bought a Lumix G9 and Sony ZV-1. The M50 became a door stop, thanx for the vlog bro. I enjoyed it, so I've subbed to your channel :)
Bro I love your m50 videos because that's what we most of the beginner of this channel use not a7s3 Make more videos like this on m50, really love your videos ❤️...
Hey man, im currently running on a cheap t3i. Would it be worth upgrading to the m50? I sadly just found out it has a different lens mount so id have to adapt all the canon glass I currently have. Is it worth going with the m50 and getting an adapter or is there a similar spec canon dslr that doesn't need an adapter?
So, shoot at around f/2.0, ISO 800 - 1600 and set the picture profile to neutral. If you want to color grade, lower the contrast and saturation. And then most importantly, go out at the right time, right after sunset 👉🏻 blue hour.
@@BothSidezProduction Hey, man! I’m not an expert on music videos. But do you know YCImaging? I think you should check out his channel. All about music videos.
Good that M50 is still going strong with you 🔥. I will shoot with M50 many years and it is nice to see what expert can do with it. It would ne nice to see your sony and canon M50 side by side in daylight situations. In low light it is obvious wich one is king 😅
@@JorisHermans yes, like you are doing earlier about street photography, documentary, photo editing, photo project etc. anything about improving photography. because you can explained things better then others. and it helps.
Really interesting video again Joris! You're becoming the belgian PM and you've been an inspiration :) I just started out, but these shorter videos and how-to's are really helpful! Greetings from Belgium and the best wishes for 2021!
We agree 100% with you on the 1600 iso being the max that you would want to use on the M50. We got our M50 for $499 on sale a while back and could not be happier for that kind of money. Great video man! Thanks
Hi Joris! Great video as always, what are the specs for your MacBook? Processor and Ram? Do you have to make proxies a lot or do you find editing 4K footage with the right codecs okay on your MacBook?
Hey! 2018 MacBook Pro 2.3GHz Quad Core i5 8GB Ram. So far I have no problems editing 4K footage from my Sony BUT... when shot in the highest bit rates, it struggles a little bit sometimes. But I’m still OK with it. The only thing that doesn’t work anymore is my subscribe call-outs. Whenever I add those to 4K footage, Davince crashes when rendering. Not sure what the problem is but as soon as I remove the call-out it’s fine. Rendering time for a 10min 4K video is 1 to 1.5 hours.
Thank you! Does surprisingly well, can you add the call out and then turn off effects when scrubbing through the timeline and turn back on when rendering? I know you can do that with Premiere, not sure about davinci though...
@@OliverGibbsRUclipsChannel yeah, but it’s the rendering that’s the problem. It starts dropping frames snd then just crashes every time. When I render 1080 footage (upscaled to 4k) it doesn’t crash. No idea what causes this problem.
@@JorisHermans OOF!!! 1 hour rendering for a 10min 4k video in davinci? My 800$ Laptop does that in 20 minutes, puuh, and its a 2019 800$ laptop, sure your macbook was more expensive...
Great Video!! Quick question - I'm shooting my talking head vids in low light, with some neon signs hanging up in the background (whic is about 4 feet behind me) and my problem is that the neon signs are showing up overexposed (white & blurry) instead of appearing as their real colors. I played around with my camera settings, and got the neon lights to appear correctly BUT then everything else is really dark (and I do use soft box lighting as well). I'm also using a Sigma 16mm f1.4 lens. So, when I got the neon lights to show up clear and with the correct colors, I now have the problem that everything else is so dark that you can barely see anything even with the soft box lights blasting, and that includes myself i the film since I appear super dark as well..... So, How, do we fix this so that we are able to have the neon signs appear correctly, and also where I appear normally lit as well?
@@JorisHermans To be exact, it's the LED Govee Glide Tri Light Panels. I have these LED lights hanging on the wall as part of my background and they appear overexposed. Would using ND filters work, or is there a specific thing we need to do to fix this problem??
No, since your other lights are blasting already, an ND filter won't work either. But from what I can see these LEDs are dimmable so if they really are then that's the solution... It should say it in the specs somewhere but you might have to get an LED dimmer switch.
@@JorisHermans I actually tried dimming them as well, since these LED lights do come with the option to dim them. Even when dimmed, the lights coming from it is still overexposed. Do you think that since the LED lights are only 4 feet behind me, then that could be the reason why the it appears overexposed since it's only a few feet from my camera??
The mighty M50 does it again! 🤷🏻♂️😊
By the way, anyone interested in the LUT that I used here...? 🤔
