    Thank you so much for these tutorials/classes!♡ Im getting my ukulele this week, and it's my first own instrument ( if you dont count recorder that we are forced to play in school). I have played bass a tiny bit, but string instruments are pretty new to me. Watching these videos has helped me to choose the right instrument from the uke family and teach me basic things before I get my uke! Now I can get started easily when I know the basics already :) Thank you so much Bernadette♡

      +DALLON DADDY LONG LEGS wow, thank you so much for your sweet comment. There are days where I wonder if anyone is really benefiting from these videos and comments like yours make it all worth it.
      I'm so excited for you to get your new instrument! What color, brand, and size did you choose?

      Bernadette Teaches Music No problem♡ I got my uke from our local music store today :) It's a brown Baton Rouge uke in tenor-size! It has a cute lil sun on it. I have been playing it all day and my fingers are officially dead. But I can't stop!:D The model of my uke is V4-T Sun :)

      +DALLON DADDY LONG LEGS aww, yay!!! Sounds like you got a great ukulele if you played it all day! That means it sounds good and it was right for you. I personally LOVE the tenor size too :)
      Have fun playing ✌🏼

    I've been using a book to learn and the the sound from the CD gives a completely different sound despite the finger placement being the same as here. Had me convinced I was doing something wrong.

    Question, I recently started playing the uke and been learning some awesome chord progressions. Right now Ive been digging how a Gm, Cm and D7 sound but cant seem to follow up that D7 with anything? Just outta curiosity, What would you play after that to end the progression proper? Love your vids btw, thank you for these lessons and your time!!

    4th string 2nd fret, 2nd string 2nd fret, is an easier way to play d7 chord but I am trying to learn both ways

    • @BernadetteTeachesMusic
      @BernadetteTeachesMusic  6 лет назад +1

      That gives you
      A, C, F#, and A, but to make a D7 chord, you need at least one D in there ;)

      Use your right forearm to put pressure on the body and twist your index finger away from you just a little bit.

    I have to apply so much pressure to make good contact with the E string. My hand gets all cramped up. Are there some tips or exercises I can get please?

      Try bar the cord with the side of your finger that is faced to your tumb. Dont just lay your finger flat on the cord! Hope this can help you

      And also place your finger as close to the metal as posible!

    miss B! another chord I'm ok with until I try to move to it from a different one. Rather than remove watches and roll up sleeves, I removed my shoes and socks first. It didn't help! 👠👞. C
