  • Another video from my 2016 railway trip to Wrocław - Poznań rail line in Greater Poland (line number 271).
Two express trains of PKP Intercity carrier blast through a local railroad crossing near Jasień village. First train is a holiday TLK service "Bursztyn" connecting the cities of Gdynia and Wrocław. The second train is a InterCity 83114 train from Słupsk to Przemyśl.
Railroad crossing in Jasień is an automatic, gateless crossing equipped with quite old signals setup from the early 90's. It is protected by two ZWUS EHZ-32 signals with original, small 200 mm / 8 inch lights and two KLD-4013 mechanical bells (only one of them actually work). The 200 mm lights are the most interesting element of the crossing as they are yet almost completely extinct on Polish State Railways network (except line No 271). This situation is caused by current standards that require all railroad crossing signals in Poland to be equipped with 300 mm / 12 inch lights.
Despite the fact that the rail line No. 271, on which the Jasień crossing is placed, is currently undergoing a general overhaul, the crossing possibly still exists till the present day.
    Filmed on 26th July 2016.
