"Preludio de Tristeza" (Sadness Prelude) was made in 2013 after I lost 2 of the people I loved the most in my life within 3 weeks. I composed it in Málaga, Spain in October 2013 trying to express my feelings at that time.

A wave has energy, form and motion but once it hits the shore it slides backwards spent. It is not lost, it just goes back to whence it came. Those we lose are not gone, they return to the elements to make clouds and rainbows and the thin film of water on the song thrush's eye as she heralds in a new morning sunset. One day we shall join them, until then rejoice in the love they gave and the things shared as they are true gifts placed in our minds eye for a purpose. It is not an end but a new beginning - music helps echo our sentiments to share with others and can soothe the soul. The guitar is like the voice of an old friend - best shared.
Tears of relief filled my eye，i find a beauty beyond my words in this tune
This mirrors my feelings today. I was retrieving messages from my work phone and heard an old message from my mother. She passed away August 1, 2019. Thank you Per-Olov for continuing to share your music.

And again today, for some reason, this hit me hard. I feel all the sorrow with every note. Holding the hand of my dad (2012) and then my mom (2019) as I sat with them in their final moments.

This is indeed a very sad one. It reminds me of the series of deaths in my family. It started by losing my uncle (Oct 2015), grandma (Dec.2015), another grandma (Feb. 2016), my favorite uncle (Mar. 2016), and my beloved father (Jun.2016). Your music is perfect! I can only listen and reminisce. Thank you, it brings peace to me.

I understand loss. I lost my domestic partner in February of 2015. Her brother, Don, died in October of 2016, and in March of this year, I lost another dear friend that my partner and I had considered a best friend for years. So, this particular piece really touches that sadness in me, too, Per Olov.

Dear Per-Olov, today I returned to your channel after quite a while. I am sorry to hear about your loss. Your composition and your performance are beautiful, I find. To me it appears original, consistent and beautifully voiced. If I may be so free to mention it, without taking away even the slightest piece, curiously I hear a volatile touch in the melody, a parallel to the melody in the compositon "Exit Music for a Film" by Radiohead, that is, as interpreted by Brad Mehldau on the piano.
