I fully agree with General Hodges' perspective and admire his consistent message as an ambassador for Ukraine and humanity. However, there’s an underlying interpretation that, while unspoken by General Hodges, I am confident he would agree with: Ukraine will never lose to Russia. The only questions are how long the suffering and horror persist, and how many lives are destroyed or damaged in the process. Even if Putin’s initial invasion plans had been "perfect," his strategic objective-to re-subjugate Ukraine-is fundamentally impossible. This is because tens of millions of Ukrainians have spent decades resisting Russian meddling, devoting their lives to building an independent Ukraine. When combined with the extraordinary innovation and adaptability demonstrated by the Ukrainian state and military-industrial complex since November 2022, it becomes clear that Putin lacks the capacity to achieve his goal. He may not even be able to retain the territories he has conquered-even without much additional Western aid. My hunch is that no one in Trump's inner circle understood this reality before late November 2024. For far too many ill-informed members of the "MAGA Movement," the war in Ukraine was framed as a Biden project-something to be politically leveraged against Biden. Since Biden supported Ukraine and allocated significant resources to aid the country, the "natural" but misguided reaction for some MAGA followers was to oppose support for Ukraine and turn it into a minor campaign point. However, as more informed voices have had the opportunity to share insights with Trump, it seems the narrative is shifting. What will Trump do? No one can say but him. Any bets?
The world does not belong to Trump and Putin.
NATO is the only way
All the cult members know that Trump will do it in 24 hours.
We know both Trump and Putin are BIG LIARS so I don’t believe them. Both are well known of lying.
Kamala Harris said re: changes from Biden, "None come to mind."
Lets hope Gen. Kellogg has the first meeting with Russia to learn Russian temperature. Long before Trump and Putin meet .
A favorable negotiating position necessitates robust aid to Ukraine.
Why would Russia end the war? The only concession that they have offered is that what is left of Ukraine can join the EU.
Russia is losing its economy and has no choice but to seek peace. So there must be no concessions - Russian military must withdraw from Ukraine entirely.
@@markhulbert4537 How could Putin stay in power were he to withdraw from Ukraine after getting on for a million Russian casualties? The EU has no money to pay for even a rump Ukraine's convergence. So the Ukrainian aim to be like Poland is now unattainable, even if it were to be allowed in NATO.
Well maybe your septic system S$#% fountains that are springing up in your country could get worked on .... naaaah Pootin needs another billion dollar yacht; the Russian people can stuff it.
Maybe Ukrainians would step up if the West supplied appropriate weapons which they know will deter Russia very quickly in present circumstances.
Two of Ukraine's top political/military analysts & commentators have simply called Hodges an idiot. I fully concur, he has not been correct in any prognostication.
Leverage over Russia? The US Gov debt was $31.5 T less then 2 years ago, and now $36T. Trump will have to deal with this headache before anything else.
If you want it quickly just let Ukraine join NATO and watch how fast the Russians leave. Even if they dont it will be over quickly.
Insightful view on the Ukrainian military. No serious Russian leader would accept NATO membership of Ukraine without any security guarantees or an alliance with the WEST.
Ukraine should be in NATO, no matter what. Russia is not making such a fuss on its other European NATO borders, Finland, the Baltics...
And Russia can have those security guarantees, no problem - as soon as they withdraw to within their internationally recognised borders.
@@markhulbert4537 Agreed, BUT You must consider Nuclear weapon. Consider the Cuban Missile Crisis!
@@שושנהבןדור Ukrainian admission is too hasty without conditional Russian concord with the West.
that's no peace plan , it's a wish list
Where Ukraine in NATO or Landlease for Ukraine?
How to eliminate people by the blind approach is what the people perceive it .
I feel sure that Putin has a hold on Trump so that he doesn't dare to defy him.
Love absolutely adore General Hodges... this guy should have run for POTUS
