But 100% backpack, it’s smaller, and even weight distribution on your body!

Way too small. I changed to a (new) 21.5” hard shell and ended up having more room AND it was lighter weight. I just cant do soft luggage.

@@ItsTheKellysh that’s a bummer! But I am so invested in finding out what you didn’t like about the Luka carry on.
I packed it, as shown, and then a new piece of luggage that was lighter came in the mail and I transferred everything into that one (out of curiosity) and it fit everything and I had a ton more room AND it was more lightweight. I knew I wanted to shop, and that I had to pack and repack 6 times and didn’t want to stress.
I’m just not made for soft luggage.

I’m not sure what the story is with that, it was brought to my attention by a subscriber. I remember back when they made the spot collection and introduced the slate colors, they made luggage and bags for the props, but said it won’t be a real color ever. But here we are. 😂

I use my Sony zv-1 which is what I film my videos with. But my preferred camera is actually just my iPhone for photos.
That was great. Maybe i have a souvenir addiction because I don't see much room left for souvenirs. When I go overseas, I like to buy food items that I cannot get in the US. I'm still getting better at not overpacking, but I'm not ready to go carryon only. I need a souvenir, I just can't help it!
I switched suitcases at the last minute Because I ended up disliking this one, and have an update video coming :) I got a ton of souvenirs!
I need a review of Calpaks mini Luka , Hue and Ambeur carry-ons
I ended up getting the newest color white sands Terra sling bag and my long overdue Luka mini carryon in Oatmeal. Reading reviews on the Hue collection turned me off so I took your advice and figured I'll just save up for the champagne Monos hybrid when it's on sale around Christmas, but for now I have a couple short overnighters and my bday coming up so figured why not?! I'll let you know how I like them but my usual go-to for more luxe bags is MZ Wallace in NYC when I want to treat myself.

@@ItsTheKellys I know I'll love the Hybrid. I've had my eye on it and their quality of products is way better in my opinion when in stock, but price point is higher of course plus tax & shipping from Canada. I have a Jen Atkins collection rose pink metallic hybrid from Calpak I snagged last one two years ago and haven't used it yet. Apparently I had no idea that Calpak not only retails their overstock and discontinued luggages I guess in discount stores but also had a huge sample sale in California. It's hard to find Jen Atkins collection online new. Great for hairstylists like me at the time to trunk all my gear into for storage and hauling.

I used it on this trip because I wanted to see how I liked traveling with it. I do have a lot of computer gear and content equipment so it was helpful, but I’m typically a backpack girl

I have a Question. I am a plus size women an trying to figure out how to pack for a 10 day Alaskan trip and trying to do it all in a carry- on and u need all weather clothes including a heavy jacket and a rain jacket need some suggestions.

Layering. I’m plus size too. For a cold weather trip I have a set of silk longjohns with top for a base layer. ( buy from Lands End or LLBean). Super thin and comfortable, but add a lot of warmth. They can be washed in the sink if you need to and dry super quickly if you first squeeze out the water by rolling in a towel before hanging up. The clothes you wear over them can therefore be worn over and over as they stay fresh. I bring a pair of pants and crinkle button shirt (2 different ones so I don’t get bored) to go over first layer. Alaska is casual, so the pants can be joggers. If they have no bottom cuff, they can look more dressy. Then, over that layer goes a thin merino cardigan or pullover, short length. Rather than a heavy jacket, I prefer a cozy long cashmere cardigan with a rainproof hooded jacket or coat over it. That way you can wear one or the other alone if it’s warmer/dryer. A hat, scarf and gloves or mittens, always in wool, make this even cozier. Also make sure your socks are wool. Wool=warm even if damp. I also pack a thin, light pair of quick dry pants to wear alone or over the longjohns or over the pants/joggers or over both, depending on the temperature, for when it’s drizzly. All these layers give you multiple options. Don’t forget there are down puffer jackets available that pack into their own pocket. They even make a nice pillow on the plane. With the right materials, clothes don’t have to be heavy or bulky to be warm. I use the cashmere cardigan cause I go to Europe in late fall, so need to be dressier. For Alaska, you may prefer a poly fleece layer instead.

I’m a hairstylist/makeup artist. So the reason I can travel so much is that I don’t have benefits at my job such as PTO. Unfortunately, when I travel, I come back to no paycheck, but fortunately I can travel very often, within reason, as long as I prepare my finances correctly.
There are tons of ways to travel, maximizing your PTO, They just might have to be quicker trips, or around holidays. For example, I’m almost always gone for 4th of July, Labor Day, and Memorial Day.
@ItsTheKellys Hey Lauren, I'm assuming you have great travel benefits using a CC's airplane miles that includes use of airport lounges, etc. If so, could you do a video on that? If not, please disregard, lol!

Use one thing ? You have no room, to go shopping to bring anything back... I could never take such a small bag. I would be so upset with my self if I had noooooo room to bring ANYTHING back.
I ended up switching suitcases with more room and brought a ton of stuff back :)
Most souvenirs bought on trips end up just being junk and clutter at home.
@@missmayflower depends on what it is. My house has a ton of fascinating stuff from around the world, as well as accessories, jewelry, and art that people can’t just go buy at their big name store :)
