As somebody who works in retail, I have said that to a real jerkwad of a customer. No backlash from management, the most powerful in my field I have felt….then immediately 25 minutes later got reprimanded for telling a customer we don’t carry a competitor’s gift cards

I remember those days. I actually remember when some undesirable Karen said I am “to call my boss” and I pretended I forgot my boss’s number so I literally looked him up in the phonebook just to REALLY drive the point home. I caught her shoplifting a few times, I was just buying myself time to have her arrested. I’m now a security officer, and Karen’s are by far the STRANGEST of creatures.

And when someone is talking shit to you for "being slow" you activate your performance mode and scan faster than they can ever even hope to put things in their cart (greetings from a German employee).
Funnier yet however are Karen's. I love it. They shit talk you, you talk back and clearly tell them they are out of line. And when they ask for the manager, you tell them that you are indeed the store manager (that's how it's done here at least). The look on their face, is priceless. And then just send them straight outta the store.
