The polishing was insane! Rotary polishing is becoming a "lost art". My hat is off to you guys. I just finished a killer detail on a GT500Mustang that only required a 1-step polish. But I'm waiting for the day I get a client who needs some wet sanding done. In the meantime, I'm going to sand down my truck a bit. Gotta have some fun!

I own a 1988 750iL. Thank you for showing these underrated and overlooked E32s some love! That engine in the green car is likely a 4.4L M62 putting out 282 hp.
What a beautiful lovely car! It got into really professional hands, you guys are the most capable and experienced! Thank you for your video 😊 my 1.7 year daughter watches your videos with me and when we come to visit my grandparents, she asks for a piece of cloth and goes to "detail" their old sitting car, and she does it so carefully 😂😂 even sometimes stops, points on something and tries to explain something only she knows what 😂 so don't you mind guys to take her as a student for detailing someday?)) 😅😅😅😅❤

You guys bring the satisfaction to my life I never knew I needed-by far the best detailing group out there-the effort you put into these cars is unparalleled.
I actually bought a 92' E32 740i as my first car a few weeks ago. It also needs some restauration and this video will really help me to restore it. Thanks for the awesome video!
Kevin owes you guys some beers 😀 Always amazing! Can you let us know how long each process takes? Feel like the sanding and polishing took many hours. Thanks Guys! Take care! Eddie
on the e30, I believe you can repair the whining noise from the starter motor by removing the starter and replacing the bushing on the forward end of the starter. On the 740, the engine is an all aluminum V8 that is not all that heavy for that type of motor. The really heavy part of that drivetrain is the automatic transmission. The pieces together are hefty. I put almost 200K miles on a 92 735 and I have to say it was one of the most satisfying BMWs to drive that I ever owned. I have owned and raced about 60 of them since 1970.
That's NOT an aluminum block in the 740s. It's an alloy called Alusil. It's an aluminum silicon alloy. Don't try to hone it as you would with an aluminum or iron block. It will damage the liners and ruin the block.
You guys remind me of myself at that age. I started detailing cars when I was in junior high and bought my first car in 1979 with the money I had saved. A black on yellow 1970 Mustang. Beautiful work.
Drama is my favorite character of the bunch, Ari is THE best from the entire series. Great result on such a handsome car. The wheels are Style 7's in BMW's nomenclature, Metric wheels so tyres are expensive, and it's an M60 V8.
It's sooooo satisfying to look a this process. Especially whith my favourite BMW. I don't know exact issue with these floor mats. But when I had E32 with original floor mats I had same issue. I believe they used some tar-foam base for the mats and over time it just loses its flexibility and this base starts peeling off. Driver's mat in my car didn't peel off that much, but it "shared" some tar with carpet under close to the gas pedal.
Just a pro tip and a great story for y'all, my first car was a 1994 740iL with the same M60. Do not wash the engine like this. The cover over the ignition easily permits the entry of water and moisture. If you do decide to clean the engine with water like this, take those covers off with a 10mm, and get any water out of that cover with a wet/dry shop vac. Take the coil packs out and make sure no water is on your plugs. I did the same thing when trying to make my 150k mile engine look fresh. The next morning, I started the car to discover a horrible misfire. Had about thirty minutes to get to work. I got about 15 miles from Napoleon to Liberty Center before my catalytic converter exploded underneath me. I looked in the rearview mirror and saw a massive cloud of orange metal suspended in the air, slowly falling. That was about 8 years ago now. Two days ago I got the car up on jack stands, cleaned the mildew out of the car, and got the engine running no problem. Love these cars, thanks for reading my story y'all.
Oh also my dad was the previous owner of that 944 that ECS has, he's in the original video when ECS stopped by to get it. We're both super geeked to see them doing that over at ECS with the car.
So just out of curiosity, when you do things like you did with the boot, sanding the clearcoat down and then polishing to make it look nice again. It looks nice but what happens if someone cleans that surface with a degreaser later on though? Wouldnt that remove the polish you applied and make the boot look all matted again? I just know using degreasers is common in the north, so idk if we could do something like that here.
I meant Kevin Dillon in Malibu a few years ago. Super nice guy. He was on his custom Harley and I was on my Aprilia. We had a chat about our bikes and then he started showing me pictures of a custom Chevy truck he was building. Down-to-earth fella for sure.
In Germany these Wheels were called "Räder mit Notlaufeigenschaften in Kreuzspeichenstyling" (Wheels with runflat properties in cross-spoke styling) and have Option Code 293. I think they were the first wheels with runflat properties ever made (at least for BMW)
This is a great channel I love how you guys go into the history of the cars and where and who they came from. You guys are also easy on the eyes which is a bonus 🙊🙈😊
Wasting a lot of time with those floor mats. After you powerwash and scrub them, use a long squeegee to sweep out the excess water, THEN use the vacuum to pick up any remaining water. What grit did you use on the wetsand?
I would recommend using a carpet cleaner after soaking up as much of the diesel fuel as possible. Be careful with some carpet cleaners. Some heavy duty cleaners can actually strip the carpet dye, possibly damaging the carpet or even discoloring the carpet.
I had a 92 E32 and it was in BAAAAAD shape! I loved that car though! This video made me want another one now! I could smell that interior through the screen! 😂 😂
The E32's were NEVER factory equipped with V10 engines. All 740's were factory equipped with V8 engines. These were M30 inline sixes, M60 V8's, or M70 V12's.
that's a 4 litre V8 under the bonnet. BMW V8's especially of that vintage were not the best. the 735 version of that was a stellar ride. As for the foam backed floor mats it's not exclusive to BMW (happened on my Saab as well). The foam tends to dry out much like the foam in a headliner. All I can say is that the foam did it's job in not slipping on the carpet.
Actually once BMW sorted out the Nikasil disaster in the USA, these engines were fine. The high sulphur fuel in use in the USA at the time damaged the cylinder liners, hurting compression and power. BMW actually offered a ten year engine warranty replacement on these engines, and provided A) the original owner did NOT expose the engine to high sulphur USA fuel or B) kept up the maintenance on these engines, these engines were no more problematic than most other BMW engines of the period.
The only thing that BMW failed at to me are the floor mats mine did the same thing leaving that foam from the bottom like that on the floors I think they got better within the years lol
My 750iL weighs around 4,250 pounds and the 740s aren't far behind. There's only a 400 pound weight difference between the long body and short body cars.
Just Subscribed to your page. I live in England and I love German cars. I love a MK4 Golf and an Audi A4 Avant. Your videos are cool keep up the great work everyone. Definitely need an update on that E30, awesome car 👍🙂

Huge difference ! Hope this one can return to the road soon !
FYI These wheels are specific BMW TYPE 7 wheels which originated on both the e34 5 series and this e32 7 series. 👌🏻

740 is the most reliable, but I prefer 750, there is something special in bmw's v12's
Should have an M60 engine in it. The M62 is a better engine in my opinion but only when you use the M60 intake on it.
You should have took the wheels off to make those inner barrels shine.
