People Told Us Islam was banned in china but we found the cities muslim area and the TRUTH was revealed! its Chinese name is "+/f" (niú jie), which directly translates to "cattle street." In fact, it's very close to the center of Beijing, the Forbidden City, so there are no actual cows here. The mosque was built in 996 AD, making it over 1000 years old, and it's a mix of Chinese and Arabic architectural styles. It covers about 6000 square meters and used to be a political, cultural, and commercial center during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Many Muslim merchants and believers settled here.
During the Cultural Revolution in 1996, the Cow Street Mosque was closed and damaged, repurposed for uses like storage. It wasn't until 1978, after efforts from the government and the community, that the mosque was restored and protected. It gradually regained its status and influence within the Muslim community.
Today, Cow Street is a very famous Hui ethnic food street.
It's where we explored. Yes, we tried the wonderful Halal muslim food of beijing china!

In China, some ethnic groups who believe in Islam are superior people and will not be arrested if they commit certain minor crimes. This is a rumor, I am not sure if it is true. But the fact is that it is absolutely impossible to ban Islam. It is ridiculous.

1st, I think it make sense that there were no people when mosque is under renovation.
2nd, I live in Australia, there are no any people during day time in church too. It's normal that you didn't see any one in day time.
3rd, If their government has banned Muslim, you would expect they have demolished or burned down this mosque rather than spending huge amount of money on renovation of this mosque.

If these Western media outlets profit from lying and spreading hatred to gain traffic for themselves, what is the difference between them and fraudsters? Around 2010 the Muslim used to be quite trouble makers in China. When the Muslims are the minority in the local society, they are very friendly to everyone. But when the Muslims became the majority of the local society, they start to bully the non-Muslims. For example, if the Muslim become the majority of a street, they drive away the alcohol shops and pork butcher shops in this street. At that time the Muslim were often complained by non-Muslim about "Muslims forcing other people to respect their lifestyle but they don't respect the lifestyles of other people". This kind of things kept happening in China. There were a lot of news about this. Luckily, the Chinese government noticed this and fixed this problem. The policemen just arrested and punished the law breakers, without any concern of making religious problems. It is none of business of religion. It is just the business of breaking the law. The natural ambition of the Muslim were then limited by the laws. Nowadays the Muslim and non-Muslim live together very peacefully as you see in the video.

A well-known example is the so-called Lanzhou Ramen Gang or Hualong Ramen Gang. Owners of ramen stores in most cities in China used to come from the Hualong Hui Autonomous County in Qinghai Province, where more than 80 per cent of the population are Hui of the Muslim faith. The area was famous for making and selling its own firearms decades ago. After being cracked down on by the government many of them instead traveled across the country to open ramen stores. The area of Hualong is not really known for its food, so they tend to claim that they sell ''Halal authentic Lanzhou ramen'' or something like that (Lanzhou is the capital of another province, and the city is famous for its ramen. Although it is close to Qinghai and has a similar culture, it is not in Qinghai, much less in Hualong). About ten years ago, the market for fast food restaurants became saturated and more competitive, so the owners of the Hualong Ramen restaurants in many cities claimed to have set up a ramen association and demanded that other ramen restaurants (such as those run by real Lanzhou people) pay a lot of money to the association or even close down their stores. Otherwise, they attacked it with some triad dirty tricks. And there were some Hualong ramen store owners who rented a room and intentionally owed rent to the landlord and beat the landlord away if the landlord came to collect the rent. At that time, there was a lot of fake news in foreign countries smearing China's Muslim policy, and some governmental departments didn't dare to do something in order to avoid another new fake news fabricated by the foreign media. It wasn't until this sort of thing made the news in China several times, and the Chinese government became more and more unconcerned about foreign media smears, that some local governments began to gradually crack down on this behavior. In the last few years there has been no news of such behavior.

There are 56 ethnic groups in China, all of which are united. Many ethnic groups have their own beliefs, unique festivals and unique architectural styles. They live freely in China. The reason why Western media conveys wrong information is that they want to split China by inciting the secession of some ethnic minorities. You can go to Xinjiang for tourism. Although there are more security checks and armed police on guard because of the riots created by the West, it does not interfere with local people and tourists. They live freely as usual. China is not afraid to show this. Welcome everyone 🥰

glad to see you having a great time in beijing. Nice choice. Niu jie and its surrongding area is an excellent choice for a day tour in Beijing, especially if you couldn't make a reservation to visit some of the popular places such as forbidden city, national museum. (yeah, most of the popular places in beijing would require a reservation or book-in-advance nowadays, the tourist must do some homework before travelling). Anyway, you can experience the authentic Beijing muslim food/snacks and culture in this area. If you heading east, you could visit Fa yuan temple (free entry *UPDATE it is not free anymore i am sorry the last time i visited there was a few years back and didn't realise they start charging fot a ticket 5CNY, but do ingnore the fortune telling people at the entrance), a very famous ancient temple but not that well-known as a tourist place. you could visit Tao ran ting park (2CNY entry ticket) where has beautiful Chinese traditional gazebos and lake. If you keep heading east, you could also visit Temple of heaven where chinese emperor did the rituals in the past. the entry ticket is slight expensive, but it's worth it. also better to visit it in the early morning, cause you could see beijing pensioners do all kinds of morning excerises and activities in the park, really fun to watch.

On the contrary, at the end of the 19th century, the Uyghur population in Xinjiang was 3 million. At the beginning of the 21st century, the Uyghur population in Xinjiang has exceeded 10 million. Is this genocide? The more people are exterminated, the more the population increases? ? The United States keeps saying that it is defending human rights. At the beginning of the 20th century, the population of North American Indians was more than 10 million. At the beginning of the 21st century, there are only a few hundred thousand Indians left in the United States. Is this defending human rights? The more the racial population is defended, the smaller it becomes? ?

The Muslims pray on specific times of the day. There isn't a need to do it at the mosque. The Friday prayer is ultimate important for the worshippers.

As I expected, yesterday I asked you to go to Niu Street, and today you went there, and you went to a very accurate snack bar and Niujiai Supermarket, but it's a pity that you didn't eat jujube cake or Zhen cake, which is one of the best snacks in Niu Street. Of course, Niu Street also has the best traditional Beijing hot pot. It takes about 1-2 hours to queue up. It's very good. You came according to my idea. Have a good time in Beijing!

Although it was never the mainstream, Islam does have a long history in China. A number of important figures in Chinese history were Muslim, most notably the Ming Dynasty admiral, Zheng He (Cheng Ho.)

The Huaisheng Mosque in Guangzhou is China's oldest mosque and was built when Mohammed was still alive. This mosque until today is still in use.

My friend is a Muslim, he comes from Xian, and I respect him very much. My government and myself also respect the faith of Muslims.
He believes in Muslims, I believe in my ancestors, and there is no conflict between us.
Because I have never been to Xi'an or Xinjiang, I would ask him about the living conditions of local Muslims and any inconvenience they may have. The feedback I receive is also normal and there is nothing bad about it.

You should not be afraid to ask. Most youngsters speak a bit of English. Even if they don't, they could try to help you by using their "translators" app.
