That's just dumb, why would winning be the best startegy? Winning is finishing first, but in school we always learn that the higher numbers are better. By that logic, 10th place should be better than first place, so what is this backwards logic here?
One thing I have found that usually helps in avoiding any penalty, if you know you might be going over the line, you can let off the gas even just enough to "slow down" there instead of the penalty zone. It's weird, but it has saved me a few times.
@@MordernDays99 it's terrible on Forza though. very inconsistent, with most of the time still being a god awful penalty for barely going 4 wheels off in a spot that actually made you lose time anyway lol

I just read in a reddit post a tip that’ll be very useful for future races: penalties will slow you down and make you lose positions, don’t get penalties while in a race, another one said something like: win the races you play in. Hope I’m useful to Super Gt fans too!
Actually liked this race a lot, I think I played my 2nd GT7 online race tonight and somehow got 3rd with the Mustang! A good way to end my night, really think I'm getting a better feel for the physics but still think they need a bit of a tune, also learning ghat CEs are great for credits but they kill me on the inside
I'm just blown away by the fact I'm being a to beat Steve lap times in some of the Cup races or get really close to him, he has been my teacher so thanks for everything man. Only thing I'm missing is a steering wheel...

I bought a sim rig because of this channel. Had a PS4 and started with GT Sport then later wanted to play other sim titles as well so spent $1k on a computer lmao.

Watkins Glen is a momentum track and it can sometimes be very unforgiving if you overdrive some of the corners. The biggest worry, for me, is always turn one and the bus stop due to aggressive drivers around me trying to out brake me. Practicing your marks and Being as smooth as possible in those 2 braking zones without killing that momentum can either make or break your race. I've had no issues in clean lobbies at The Glen and its gotten me involved in some great racing and wins

To be fair... The whole car was over the line, not just the tyres that crossed 2 pixels. Its a bit like; "officer I was only going 6 miles over the speed limit".
I had a bad feeling about Watkins Glen when it was announced for the game. Damn, the circuit was hell, just like the Daytona infield road course! And the sun was blinding me.
I decided to ditch my beloved gr.3 WRX for this week's daily races and use the ford GT. Holy macaroni did it backfire. I absolutely love the turn-in response that thing has, but It is so unstable I keep losing it on the bus stop
A quick question, what software do you use to convert HDR to SDR for RUclips? Unless you play in SDR already, if so then I would highly recommend HDR if you have the right settings. Another fantastic video!
I remember that I got a 2 second penalty during a Watkins Glen daily race for forcing someone off the track. It's weird I got a penalty like that when my car got a bit loose in the final turn.
The Chute is actually the straight for the Short Circuit/NASCAR Circuit. That first corner in the Boot is known as The Laces. Followed by the Toe, then the corner where you got those 0.500 sec. penalties is called the Heel.
I got a 3 second penalty every time i went into the pits, all races last night. I made a special point to not go over the blend line, still 3 seconds, also when I pitted to change tires, it showed the same shot soft tires and drove like an ice skate for about half a lap then blink fresh tires that were cold, noticed the new tires drove accordingly and spun it around because they were cold. I hope they fix this stuff, it's discouraging to drive clean and properly and skilfully pass, only to have them drive buy you going up that bloody hill.

The penalty system is killing this game in my opinion. 3 seconds for cutting a line vs no penalty for for someone putting you in a wall amd ruining your race

I haven't played any racing games since Viper Racing (PC) came out in 1998, NASCAR Heat in 2000 (PC) which we quickly learned to hack (made mods) and add road tracks and cars and F1 Championship Season 2000. For the Playstation (1&2) I played Grand Turismo 1997, Need for Speed Carbon 2006 (?). XBOX original and XBOX 2; Forza Motorsports. I was wondering how difficult it is to make adjustments in the garage? Which ever car you chose is the default loaded setup close?
It's faster if you're able to cut the apex since you don't have to drop as much speed. As for the exit, you'd be able to accelerate earlier if the track limits were wider. It's only really slower if you go wide before the exit or hit a wall.
2 things here right in the beginning. 1.) The guy didn't "miss" the turn, he was clearly expecting you to dive bomb. Unfortunately that's the norm in sim racing. 2.) The way you all abuse track limits and then act shocked about penalties blows my mind. "3 pixels over"? Bro your entire car is left of the track limit. I'm surprised they didn't have to check your track pass before letting you rejoin. Unfortunately this hobby is less skill and more how much cheating can you get away with. Anyway, always enjoy the content, glad your making it again.
You can’t “cheat” when it comes to track limits. It’s black and white. If you’re over you’re over. If you’re under you’re under. Each turn can be slightly different as to where the limit is.
I got a 1 minute penalty after doing a clean race only to find out I had different tires after checking everything before I set the tires to the appropriate tires only to find out the what caused my penalty was the tires.

I used to be able to race online easily without any problems but since the update before the latest one i haven't been able to join any of the online daily races, i'm not really sure if it's cus my conncetion is very weak or the game has issues cus i can still join other people's lobbies from the multiplayer section and i play other online games compeletly fine without any connecion issues but i'm not sure It's really frustrating

I'm pretty sure it's paved like that for NASCAR where they don't have strict track limits(or any really). If it's paved it's part of the track. I'm also pretty sure running wide doesn't give you any real advantage as most places where you can run wide it puts you on a bad line for the following corner

This mechanic works in forza 7 as the incident occurs you can left off the throttle and the game recognizes you are taking the penalty now then later

When I was racing online In gt sport In blanchimont/spa It has saved me a lot of times , especially in the wet races

Do you always get a penalty regardless if you gained time or not? For example would you get a penalty if you lift while you are of track?
As far as I know, yes.
Even if you crash and burn in the barriers you'll get the penalty.
Yes. I think it just registers where your car left the track and issues the standard penalty for leaving the track in that place.
You get a penalty even if you allready loose time by leaving the track yes .. its ridicoules sometimes
