With the number of games , injuries & suspensions it looks to me like Villa have ran out of steam this season now. That spark that fluidity of pre Christmas has disappeared !
As has been said we just cannot keep a clean sheet and we’re allergic to crosses & set pieces.
2nd leg going to be very tough now, we certainly need a step up from the performance last night to go through !
I can't see a world where we don't concede at least 2 which is going to make things very difficult
Cash and Lenglet are back in training. If they're available, especially Cash, then that could make a big difference to being tighter at the back.
Lenglet is better than carlos but i think we may struggle till mings is back next year

I hate Konsa at right back. Cash is not perfect, but he's a much more capable right back than Konsa. Konsa belongs at centre back

@ricclark8162 I think the long layoff through injury has affected him. He's not the same player we bought from Sevilla. I'm beginning to worry if Ramsey will ever fulfil his full potential too. He's constantly getting injured
@@sjtdxitditsitdurzirxur5926 well today he made a point , i think our digging him out must have struck a cord with the lad ,i know its unlikely but if he can play like that a bit more often i'll be happy , re ramsey , the worry is 2 of the 4 with long term injuries dont come back the same but we will see lets hope we get lucky and they are all as good as sid cowans after 2 broken legs or pual mcgraph with his knees gone :)

Arsenal will play which will suit Villa .. Take it to them , nothing to lose .. Re the Chambers thing .Play him as holding mid fielder , would also add to defensive strength from set pieces .. Man of season for Fulham in that position .. (won’t happen ) by why not ..
chambers has been shite every time...and DIEGO is the most overrated player. no sense of positioning, doesn't use his height for dominating in the air tho occasionally makes a block. too casual, poor passes long n short. lenglet hardly puts a foot wrong and Tim has been on it every time.

carlos is not an instinctive defender, i dont think he can jump any more , and he is slow , yes he has the 'know how' play the position and look fine for most of the game but we desperately need Cash back and then long term Mings in there winning everything because i dont think Konsa and torres is s great partnership , with mings in there he wins more challenges and he makes sure the other defenders defend better , torres is sooooooo good on the ball but i think he would also be a good defender with Mings marshalling the defence

You keep going on about defending and not learning etc....90% of goals if not more scored are going to be defender mistakes...that's football...lol
Your not going to keep clean sheet after clean sheet without making a few mistakes every game. Its not that they aren't learning everytime, it's just the opposition team playing well picking the pass. Every goal scored could be put down to a defenders mistake if you take play back to a certain point.
The amount of silly fouls we give away is ridiculous, especially Douglas luiz ,!!! Konsa at right back don’t work , why not give Kessler Hayden a go can’t be any worse than what where doin at the moment
We are running on empty at the moment- injuries, suspensions have killed our momentum. Kamara is the big one - we just cannot defend properly as a team without him there. Last night we gave away so many clear chances to Lille - we could easily have lost that game 3 or 4-1 and been out. Honestly just want us to get through this weekend with as little damage done as possible and hope that Bournemouth can pull off a miracle against United - because 5th is no where near secured yet either.

Dan you talk about learning lessons. .it quiet simple. Players have to take responsibility. to mark players from setpeaces. . It's quiet simple. . You can only mark 1 player in the box from setpeaces and space never scored a goal ever. . Roll tt. back and look at Dogie mark the fella who scored. . He simple let him run away from him if I was a player and some of my team mates did that. . Put it this way. Iake sure he never do it again believe me

This is THE DEFINING season for our team. We will very likely never get a better chance to finish in the top 4. Chelsea, Newcastle and United will be back strong again very soon. We will never have a better manager, a highly experienced manager, especially in Europe.
If we DON'T QUALIFY for the Champions League this season, the consequences could be catastrophic for our club. Expect at least 1 of our best players, most likely Martinez, Luiz or Watkins to request to leave in order to play Champions League football. With FFP taking a stranglehold, expect the sale of at least 1 of our best players. Martinez, Luiz, Bailey or Watkins. This is probably a best case scenario. It's more likely that 2 or 3 of our best players could leave. How is a hugely ambitious manager like Emery going to respond to this, especially if he's told that there isn't enough money available to replace them? I'm not saying he's definitely going to leave, but it's definitely a possibility, especially if a big club comes calling. Liverpool, Barcelona, Chelsea, United, Bayern Munich are likely to be looking for a new manager over the coming months.
THE TIME IS NOW!! Seize the opportunity. 4th place is still a possibility. I dread to think of the consequences of missing it.
