@joshypaul.07 There is no reduction in this store other than discounts provided during some festivals. In some shops, you can bargain and lower the price. People get these sarees for very special occasion like a wedding. It's kind of like a luxury for some people.

Hey Luke- glad you are exploring Chennai - some facts you may or may not have known and for you to discover if you are still here:
    - second oldest corporation in the world and oldest in India (after London) (in your earlier Metro video you visited Ripon building which is the seat of the corporation)
    - Largest Judicial complex in Asia (accessible via High Court Metro)
    -Gateway to South India
    - Marina Beach - 2nd longest Urban Sandy beach in the world
    - Only city in India to have a lighthouse, with an elevator inside!
    - T Nagar (the area where you found the store Pothys) has the highest business transacted per sq. ft. area in Asia - Rs. 50,000/sq.ft. in certain estimates
    - Pothys is more like a one stop clothing shop with a food court thrown in- malls in the city do exist - try going to Phoenix/Palladium/Express Avenue... they are proper Indian malls bustling with known international brands...
    - buzz here if you wanna know more...

This is brand store, malls have multiple brand stores of their own and brand stores are as big and huge as malls, mostly these brand stores have their own brand clothing+branded cloths.
Mostly ladies are their prime customers and almost 3/4th of stores will be for their clothes. I think it's Aadi masam sale, it's discount time.
Each floor is allocated with different clothing styles and gender. Through out South India there are such huge shopping centres.

    T-nagar is always busy.
The difference btw the first and second level of that shop is in first level its ordinary cotton sarees...in the second level its hand woven silk sarees(bit costly).

Chennai is 365 days busy with shopping.
Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kochi/Trivandrum put-together cannot match the way chennites go shopping all year long. If it's festive season then, hell will break loose @ shopping malls,.

  • @ashasrikanth4592
    @ashasrikanth4592 5 лет назад

So you visited Pothys, this is like Target in states that gives you a wide range of clothing brands to pick from... its not a mall per se but it does have a good court. Chennai does have a few good malls like Phoenix, VR, Forum, Express Avenue etc., but the prices of the clothing you find there will also be expensive since it showcases different brands and designers, but there are beautiful artworks at display in these malls and mini music gigs and food festivals ... it would definitely be similar to the malls all over the world with all the luxury brands but at the same time it’s with a South Indian twist. And they call this as Aadi season, so you can expect a lot of clearance sales in the shops you visit (:
    Happy travelling, hope this helps😊
