Aside from Jack Black being Jack Black (ie. all those grabby motions), it's a pretty loyal recreation. I especially liked how Jimmy flipped his hair back at the same time the other guy did. Now that was attention to detail.

So.... I'm a huge Nuno Bettencourt fan, and Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon did an homage/Cover of Extreme's "More Than Words" on The Tonight Show last night, so.... I decided to edit the two videos together(the original and the Fallon/Black version) and see how it turned out. Absolutely mind blowing the attention to detail in the video and the song. I only did about a dozen or so time alignment shifts to get it all to match, and a few "artistic" video edits to get it to synch better. But other than that, it's pretty much the same. The audio from each version is actually hard panned left and right, and then flipped with the video. So what you're listening to and watching is a perfect blend of the two performances. One performance out of each speaker. Insane!!

Stephen Browne What's frightening is how well the two blend in stereo. The guitar parts sound like they were recorded at the same time on the same guitar. Even the reverb style and trails are matched.
The original had 3 part harmonies and Jack and Jimmy are just doubling the two, the 3rd harmony isn't even in this version so it's just 2 part harmony doubled
This is exactly what everybody was already thinking when they watched the one with Jimmy and Jack. "I wonder how close did they do this to the original....?" Now we can see they really really did an amazing job paying attention to all the details!!! Wow - how much time did they spend getting this exactly correct??? First, you have to emulate the performance of the song, as everyone already knows it, so any error will blatantly obvious, next, you have to time the acting, which is obviously lip synched, but still, all the little things add up, and no, they didn't do the video Exactly the same, but damn, how much better could it be? Suffice to say... it's hard, full stop

Extreme should feel very honored that Jack & Jimmy did such an awesome job of covering one of the most iconic love songs of all time with such professionalism, humor & attention to detail! Would have loved to have seen the 4 of them perform it together! How awesome would that be?!

Awesome, I've been obsessed with both videos ever since I saw the Jack/Jimmy remake. I always like the song on the radio, but the remake video Is so well done and spot on to original, but also very funny and cute.
If you pay close attention, they copy the camera angles very faithfully but it seems they slightly zoomed out a bit more. Eg the baby face on the drums is closer to the camera in the Extreme compared to the Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon recreation
Just plain ole hilarious and we get to hear an absolute classic, while having an absolutely side splitting laugh. Hope the guys found this humorous too, after all, imitation is the biggest form of flattery. 🤣😅😂
