    One of my favourite fencers. He may not be the best but what he does is (for me) exactly what the sport needs. Kids watching him produce these amazing hits, passion and being generally quirky in his fencing can only be a good thing.

    • @lewribaedi5997
      @lewribaedi5997 5 лет назад +6

      @twarfield1204 you only want to go for the back if the back is exposed to you, that's pretty rare. The majority of back hits are what's called a flick attack, where you flick the weapon causing it to bend significantly, this is never done by beginners.

    If I had to fence this guy I’d be so pissed. Don’t get me wrong he’s great, but his style is so annoying and he’s so friggin tall which is a HUGE advantage in fencing so he gets away will a lot of dumb stuff

  • @r.b.4611

    Fencing is becoming a very strange game of tag. Would like to see a style of sword fighting that had both more sword and more fighting.

    USA Fencing style: THE WORST.
    Even though their fencers are pretty good they lack of elegance which is what made this sport so beautiful.

    • @GreatValueJohnnySins
      @GreatValueJohnnySins 7 лет назад +15

      Blad0506 You say that about an unconventional style fencer...

    • @ziadkhayat7299
      @ziadkhayat7299 7 лет назад +14

      Blad0506 I find back flicks to be very artistic. And besides, as much as I love classically "beautiful" fencers it's fun to see "ugly" ones tearing them apart every once in a while.

  • @JohnnyWishbone85

    Fencing has a problem. If it's going to continue to be this "touch them with the tip of your wand" game, then simply being tall and lanky like this guy is going to be an unmitigated, un-counterable advantage, which makes for a boring sport.

      3 years late but Miles vs Yuki Ota proves this wrong. Ota lost 15-13, but despite being 5’7 he shows he is able to get around the height difference.
