I think the back counterweight could be much much lighter if the under support of each "input" is placed solid to the fixed structure and the final ramp angle is increased.

No, the wires on the four switches stop the machine from moving, and the machine's fulcrum is moved forward, so that when less than four switches are "on", the machine doesn't move

An AND gate is a digital port which has the rules that when all inputs are 1, the output is turned to 1. Otherwise the output stays 0.
