  • Hey 🤗
I am so happy to see her up the Eiffel Tower singing her heart out to the crowd at the 2023 Olympic opening! This was such a big deal for her to get to this point and to see her at the end full of emotions, makes me so happy for her! She got it and she is BACK! The fight is not over for her but at least under control and a work in progress! PROUD! ❤️🔥
    See ya✌

I live in Paris, which is Céline's second home.🏅
Coming from Quebec, French is her mother tongue.✨✨✨
We're all very proud in France because Céline has many songs in French 🎁
written by the greatest, including Jean Jacques Goldman, who wrote his greatest hits.🏆
    Merci Richard .😘

In a funny way there are two Céline Dions. The worldwide international one. And the French language one. The French speaking world knew and loved her before she ever began singing in English and her international career took off. And I think sometimes the French speaking world kind of think "she's ours really". Whenever she sings in French it's like she's coming home. I have seen her in concert twice in France and she just sings a couple of songs in English but the rest is all in French.
She has actually a lot of material to choose from because she has continued releasing albums in French and to date has actually released more in French than in English. She released a lovely song a few years back called "Je ne vous oublie pas" (I don't forget about you") with the video filmed at the old Cinéma Impérial in Montreal. Her French language stuff has always been slightly different too. Maybe less commercial and more from the heart.
So I do think it was enormously important that her comeback should be her singing in French to the world and singing this iconic song made famous by another French language legend Édith Piaf.

This was only part of the song. The Olympics have been blocking full versions. To see the whole performance, find the opening ceremonies and go all the way to the final 5 minutes. It was a long wait to see her perform! The song is about giving up things that mean a lot to you, because of love. I actually took this as an ode to her fans. She sang the same song in 2015 at the AMAs in remembrance of the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks.8 hours ago (edited)
