Fix Windows 7 Shutdown Randomly Problems [Quick And Easy Tutorial]

- If your Windows 7 device appears to randomly restart or shutdown, this tutorial should hopefully be able to resolve your issues. The steps in this tutorial are also applicable to computers running Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 10.

Windows computer restarts without warning
If your Windows computer restarts or reboots without warning automatically or goes into a reboot loop, here are a few suggestions which may help you identify and fix the problem. There are several reasons that could cause this to happen. The problem could any! It could be failure of some hardware component, over-heating, Windows Update or a Stop Error.
Computer restarts automatically without warning
You will have to identify your problem and then see which of the following scenarios applies to you. Do you get to see a Blue Screen? Does your computer overheat? Updated your Driver recently? Installed some Windows Updates? Once you can identify the probable cause, things could be a bit easier.
Reboot after Blue Screen or Stop Error
To prevent a software or driver issue from restarting your computer repeatedly after a Stop Error, do the following. You need to do this so that you can read the error code, which in turn can help you troubleshoot the issue.
Uncheck the Automatically restart box. Click Apply / OK and Exit.
Now if your Windows were to crash due to a Stop Error, it will not restart the computer but will display the error message, which can help you troubleshoot the Blue Screen.
Rebooting due to Hardware failure
Hardware failure or system instability can cause the computer to reboot automatically. The problem could be the RAM, Hard Drive, Power Supply, Graphic Card or External devices: - or it could be an overheating or BIOS issue.
Restarting after Windows Update every time
If your Windows is stuck in an endless reboot loop, try to get into Safe Mode or access Advanced Boot Options. Here you can open a command prompt windows or system restore or perform an Automatic Repair. Windows 7 users may want to consider repairing Windows 7.

If you wish, you can also prevent Windows from restarting after Windows Updates by using the Group Policy or Registry Editor.
Driver problems causing reboots
If you recently updated your device drivers and now find that your Windows restarts without warning, you might want to troubleshoot your Driver problems or consider rolling back your driver to the earlier version.

Edit: I actually forgot to run as administrator.😅
I did it.. when the computer restart it done the scan and all 3 stages of checking and it stucked on please wait while your computer restart

Hi dude I need some advice. Whenever I play a game on my computer first it starts of with lag then my screen automatically dips to black but I can still hear the sounds in the back ground but can't see anything. Well at first, after trying this it was doing fine

Whenever i click on shut down or restart option in start menu, shutting down screen appear for as many hour until you forcibly shut it down using power button. lol when you hit windows type in cmd and when you go to cmd right click it and it will show options click run as administrator and it will run

I did have this problem on my lenovo amd laptop, after update computer was going to shut down shortly, I backed up the pc before update installation and fixed. I think windows updates are useless and they cannot solve any problem.
It says:
Chkdsk cannot run because thr volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

my win7 64bit keeps random shutdowns if i DO NOT keep a game open in backgroud... to use my pc without it crashing i HAVE to have say ex: farcry 5 open in background and system is fine... any ideas? ive had systems crash during gaming but NEVER the other way around.

Is it happening because of the Viruses on your computer? Last time my 1234567890 buttons is not working then yesterday my capslock is not working too. Whenever i press the K And L key it becomes to KL or LK and it's making my life harder whenever im doing my modules. Same in the I and O keys too. And now my space bar is not working and when i press the window button it makes my pc shut down. Im really scared please help me. I already remove the viruses on my pc and it keeps getting worse 😭
My computer wouldn't take the command until I added a space between system 32>(space)chkdsk C: /f and then it worked for me. Now I'll have to wait and see if it shuts down by itself anymore. Hopefully it won't. Thanks for your help.

old A100 toshiba has two stick 2GB ram and take out one 2GB and its never shutdown itself dont know why cant take 4GB ram
