We bought a new Stepway in 2018, and it's been brilliant. A solid little motor. My local independent garage gives them a big thumbs up, that's good enough for me. A friend has had one for 5 years, and no problems at all. Long journeys of 200 miles are a breeze. On the motorway, overtaking from 60mph, the acceleration is surprising in 5th gear. Let the badge snobs pay their 60 plus grand for a car. Money down the drain, and more unreliable. Don't forget the three year 60,000 warranty.
Ive owned a property in Spain for several years, but ive not bought a car yet. You're right in terms of secondhand cars, they are stupidly high money and more so, because I need an auto, which are rarer in Spain than UK and command even higher prices. Ive previously got quotes for a Stepway via Carwow Spain and for the sake of literally a few grand more than a 5-10 year old used car, I can buy new, with all the peace of mind that comes with it. No brainer.
The last 3 cars that I bought were new ones. Had a Skoda Octavia bought it for 18.000 with the 1.8 tsi motor. Was the crapiest car I have ever owned. Was eating up 3 to 4 liters of oil from change to change, warranty issues, every 3 months I had to change a bulb light. I said no more "VAG reliability". Bought a Japanese car Honda civic Tourer 1.8 vtec natural aspirated engine. Great car. No oil consumption, huge trunk. All around a very good car. Brake pads would ware off maybe to soon, back shock absorbers were quite expensive, and to change to front wheel planetary which by the way was to soon in my opinium at 80000 km. That was a rip off. That was the moment when I decided to sell the car. I was pleased with Honda and I wanted to buy a new one Suv this time to go skiing in the winter. But the budget was to high. So I bought a Duster. I love it so far.
I was looking forward to exchanging my Sandero to the new model Stepway the only problem what's putting me off is that the new top end models are fitted with Keyless entry. It seems that it is only fitted to UK models .It would be good to know if fitted in other countries. As the rate of keyless entry car thefts is rising here in the UK . I contacted Dacia to see if it could be switched off but all they have come up with is to offer me a free Faraday bag. So if you buy a new model make sure you get your free bag.
in romania, the dacia configurator has a comfort pack (the most expensive option pack at 450 euros) which includes: - electronic hand brake - key card - big centre armrest with storage - height adjustable driver seat - keyless fuel cap can you buy these separately in spain? because i didn't see a key hole on the petrol plastic cap, but you have the small armrest. i specced mine with the aforementioned comfort pack which comes with the big arm rest and because i'm short 168cm i need to pull my seat forward to reach the pedals, thus my elbow sits in front of the armrest instead of on top of it...and the armrest cannot slide forward like those in volkswagens for example. at the same time, opting for the smaller armrest would have meant not getting any of those options included in the comfort pack.

It looks really good. And it’s a great price. But it sounds noisy (road noise). And yes I’m sure it’s not very economical as the engine is so small you’re bound to be pushing and thus usually more fuel. If it was a 4 cylinder 1.4 for example you wouldn’t have to push the engine as much and then in return use less fuel
Just wanted to ask a question.....It seemed in the video (to me anyway.!!) That the car seemed to bounce a lot as you were driving and you didn't seem to be flooring it.!!

Brilliant review sir !
Thank you !
Used to love your vids but.....from Focus RS to Dacia Sandero......wow.
Lol! All hope is not lost. I still have the M4 and the 430....and a couple of other fast additions to share on the channel soon :)
@@FezzaYT good to hear mate 👍
here in the netherland you eill pay 24000 euro for the full option one in spain you save 9.000 euro damn crazy
Order one in Spain and drive it home.
It’s pronounced Dachia I believe. It looks like a bit of a beauty.
Thanks for the review!
I wondered what the panting was..
Dog 👍
Got mine last month. Good all round, but the worst gear box in any car I’ve driven in 34 years of driving. It’s so clunky. A shame because the steering is great.
miss those rs track day, engine swap videos
Justin, where are you mate??
You are your "Another video coming soon".... i won't hold my breath.
This is why I own a Skoda, pretty much all the same parts as every other VW car for a lot less money. Don't pay more just for some badge kudos.
Lol! New video coming soon....promise ;)
Nice review, but you should get a better microphone next time - at times it's hard to hear what you're saying because of that background noise. Then again - maybe you wanted everyone to know that the car is rather noisy?
Whats that rubbing sound the mic is picking up ?
holy crap lad are you still alive, here happy Christmas.👍
Hey! Still alive. Just super busy. Trying to record a new video this week but it's tough to get back into it! Hope you're well and had a good Christmas :)
What's Ur opinion guys ,what's best all around model Sandero/stepaway/duster? Or maybe Kia xceed or Stonic? Apreciate your opinion
Going for James's spot on Top Gear? He would be proud.
I've just bought a new dacia sandero because 2nd hand cars in my area of Spain (caceres) are so expensive., average 125,000 KLM 8yrs old around 10,000 / 12,000 € no contest, go video....
Wonderful to see and hear from you again Justin but my god what’s happened to the old petrol head 🚒👍
Lol! Keep watching....next video will balance this one out nicely 😁
Renaults have a way of getting below your skin, in a way that not many cars can. I'll assume the Dacia badge doesn't change that.
"All my cars have 2 doors"... SHoulda kept the RS hahahaha. :)
Love how the Dacia gets a better review from you than the M4 😹
🤣
It's broken down less I'm guessing
You know what is funny... Everywhere in the world people seem to have good opinions about Dacia, with only one exception: Romania, the country which they are built in.........
Hola Marco! Puedes mandarme un correo: justinmanilva@gmail.com. Saludos!
It's about
time for a new video! :D
Hey Mate.. Hope Xmas & the New Year went well for yourself & the family.. Is the Dandero still in the Garage?? Does the M5 still drive lol
Hi mate! Sorry, only just seen your reply. I didn't get a notification. All well here thanks, just very busy. I'm trying to get around to do an update video but it's so hard to get back into it. I've got all the gear ready...I just need to go and do it! Anyway, hope all is well with you and the family :)
@@FezzaYT Cheers Justin.. Good to hear you are all well :)
@@FezzaYT Nice to hear you're well, I just thought of this channel. Always liked watching your videos and probably have been a great influence why I decided to settle in Spain. Thanks.
What happened to you? You no longer post videos…hopefully you are doing well
Hi mate! All fine here thanks. Been meaning to do some but life got very busy. I was planning to do one this weekend...if the weather is ok. Hope all is well with you too
What’s happened to the music soundtracks? They were great ATC etc
Don't think I've added any music to my videos for ages now!
@@FezzaYT I know it’s a shame as it was really good!
Great video! I'm looking for one of these... Just a question, what do you think about the drum brakes on front wheels? Thank you.
Mine has disc brakes at the front and drums at the back. Didn't know any had drums on the front. Do they?
@@FezzaYT Not that I know of
They don't have drum brakes on the front.
11 l/100 km on lpg? Thay can be a lot better i guess.
Why is the colour not BLUE?
Sssshhhh Dont let on about these cars. the price will go up!
This is the way
Good buy. Sell the other cars as they seem to have made you boring. Get a gr yaris and start enjoying driving again. Dacia for all needs and gr yaris for fun.
Fez ! where are you? are you ok ??
Hi mate! All good, just been really busy. Was planning to do a new video for the channel this weekend. Let's see if I finally manage to do it...I think I've forgotten how to use the cameras ;)
@@FezzaYT good to hear mate, I thought the cov had got you ! It got me quite badly 6 weeks ago but better now apart from no sense of smell or taste still, and a bit short of breath every now and then ! ( this is my normal YT acct!) Oh, do you know the chap in Manilva with the blue RS? have you seen it/him? Hes on the Mk3 rs site now and then. Calls himself ManilvaFRS I think.
@@mainman2999 sorry to hear about you getting Covid. That sucks mate but glad you're better. Yes, I know ManilvaFRS, he's a really nice guy. Had a drive in his RS....brought back some good memories :)
Bring back the Focus RS Fezza.
nice video. we want one like that@Fezza😍
11l/100km lpg consumption is too much... how much it will be at 130-140km/h cruising at highway in 6. speed?
That is never correct where did you see that?
@@grahamjohnson4702 so you're using it, tell me yours numbers
@@Byk37 5. 8 liter/ 100 kilometer
Are the materials inside good quality?
Surprisingly good. Nice leather steering wheel and most materials feel good apart from some of the hard plastics, which tend to be the things you don't touch so much
Does the Stepway have adjustable height on front driver and passenger seats ?
Just the driver's seat
@@FezzaYT Thanks, need a high driving position (back issues),so something like Renault Captur.I guess Stepway is not that highest seat position?
@@TheMisterB2u I think they are quite similar....but you'd really need to try them out and compare
@@TheMisterB2u or just change the seat ... you can fit almost anything in there
Dacia is stepping up the game. Still reasonable priced though! Does it start with LPG or it needs to warm up first?
It always starts in petrol mode but then switches LPG when it warms up.
@@FezzaYT exactly, I watched another review in which they said such thing, they must confused it with CNG I guess! Meanwhile I do have LPG on my car 10 years now so I know how it works, but things change thats why I asked! Thanks for the reply!
Pronouncing Dacia varies. The ‘official’ way is this- Da-ch-ee-a
Depends what country you live in. The Polish way is Dat-chee-a.
@@grahamjohnson4702 SepiaStuff got it right. I'm Romanian.
@@dncviorel I used to work with Romanians and that is what they told me.
you pronounce it Datchia.
Sounds like its not the quietest car in the world.
Where are you
Just posted a (brief) new video :)
For the money you spent on that Sandero, you could have bought a used Audi A6 or Mercedes E Class estate.
For that money it would be a very used one. Think I'd rather have a fresh new car with a long warranty
#Dacia❤️
I would buy a Sandero if I get also a doggy with it :) .
Good stuff! You have to go with what time brings. Ferrari didn't bring out any good looking car since the F430 so move on!
Not a gripe, just saying, it's pronounced "Dachia" with a ch sound like in china
It looks like a Subaru. Renault has a very bad reputation in the US. I don't think they've been sold here since the early 90's.
Corect! Dacia!
No, LPG has its caloric power higher than petrol!
In fact no, get physics lesson..
@@gertvanpeet3120 În fact yes, no lesson needed, higher caloric power, higher combustion temperature.
@@gertvanpeet3120 If we google it quickly, we find the caloric power of 44 - 46 MJ/kg for Gasoline, and that of 46 - 51 MJ/kg for LPG. 😉
Weeeeee vamos a hacer una carrera tu con ese y yo con el bmw 😂
... gut!
What happened to you, your cars and your videos???😳😳😳
Hi mate. Just been very busy, struggling to find the time to record videos. Am hoping tondo one this weekend if that weather is good. Thanks for checking in. Hope you're well.
@@FezzaYT Thanks for the reply. Remember a life that is left with no time to be enjoyed is no life at all. 49%/51% work to fun ratio, is the bare minimum. I was at the Ferrari dealer in Marbella last week where you used to go to and almost bought a car there.. finally it was not the car with the options or in the condition I was looking for, but it a was reminder of how much fun it used to be to watch your 360 videos. Go drive your F430 and start sharing it here again :)
@@yuidfbse Thanks mate. Yes need to balance my time much better. I've just uploaded a new short video of another car that I've picked up....
