  • An inside look at how we build boots that can withstand bitter temperatures, deep snow, and treacherous ice. Notice our oil-tanned leather is completely lined with full grain insulation to maintain your body temperature without being awkward or bulky. This dense lining also allows the Arctic to be fully rebuildable akin to our other classic JK boots. Other notable features include: the weathertight design, sole that maintains traction at -23 degrees Celsius, and a neoprene footbed liner to keep your heat from being drawn into the ground.

    Just pull off my Arctic 2 boots and I live in Wisconsin. They keep your feet comfortable and you still get the look of a normal JK boot. No moon boot look.

    If you accidentally hit the leather heel of the boot on the sander is there a way to polish the leather back to good condition? Or do you have pull apart the boot and fix?

    The boots look nice. I realize everyone has different tastes, but I don’t think those scalloped heels will ever grow on me. I like when they’re sanded straight down perpendicular to the sole. It’s really evident with logger boots. I think it makes the boots look like a pair of high heels. People like them though, otherwise they wouldn’t do them that way.

    • @ramtrucks721
      @ramtrucks721 23 дня назад

      Logger heels are for going up and down hills for that kind of work.. dig in and feet get less tired due to heel incline

    How much insulation is in the Arctic 1 and Arctic 2 ?

    • @jkbootsusa
      @jkbootsusa  9 месяцев назад +3

      The Arctic 1 has Thinsulate 400 gram lowers and 200 gram uppers, the Arctic 2 has the same Thinsulate with an added Subzero insulation which doubles the temp rating

    What kind of welt is used on these boots, Goodyear? Also where does your leather come from?

    • @Lexidezi225
      @Lexidezi225 11 месяцев назад +1

      No Goodyear welts in a handmade boot. It’s a 270 stitch down. Their leather most likely comes from Seidel and horween just like nicks and whites

    How many pairs of boots can one person make in a day?

    • @Lexidezi225
      @Lexidezi225 11 месяцев назад

      It takes 2-4 days just for one boot to get bottomed they have to last them and let the glue dry. They could hammer out a pair in probably 3 days but it takes more than one person. Only the top boot makers can cut,stitch last and bottom a boot by themselves.
