    Mr. Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for another fantastic video/lecture on How to Factor Difficult Quadratic Equations in Algebra Two/College Algebra. The oldest method that's known to the human race is the Quadratic Formula, however there is a trial-and-error method that can be used to factor difficult equations in Algebra One/Two.

    this is useful if calculators are allowed, I have a final that doesn't allow calculators and we need to finish in a small amount of time

      just divide the equation with 3 so you will get as new equation: 4x^2 + 81x - 63 = 0. I hope this will easily get your roots of this equation.

      @@ffuurtxit8-wi5fhyou won’t see them likely, but if you do you can try grouping / cross multiplication methods otherwise use the quadratic formula or you’re screwed

    Your original answers + 3/4 and -21 @ 3 min 44 sec were the correct answers. If u plug either number back into the equation it will equal zero.

    It’s -b plus or minus the square root of b squared - 4(a)(c) all over 2a.

    4:27 how can you add a 3 to it? Where did you get 3? You've been very helpful btw its just I don't get why you added a 3.

      @@andreabovolenta1226 took me a minute too, he did it because he needed to get 12 from the equation above at 4:27 So he divided 12 by 4 (the number he had) to try and figure out how to make his equation model the equation he started with

    if you factor the equation like 3(4x^2 +81x- 63) it would be easy to factor , it will be 3(4x^2 + 84x -3x -63) => 3( 4x(x+21) - 3(x+21) => 3 ( 4x-3) (x+21) . smth like this

    You can factor out a three and is not hard to factor after that

      ​@@-.SkyArt.- after you factor out a 3 you have to do trial and error after that. Without practice it made be hard to do but after 1 year or even just a couple hours you will get the hang of it.

    I am solid at math. Rolling through some of the maddest calculus classes with ease. Until I run into 5890x^2+4590x+800... Have to factor this for a partial fractions integral.

    What if after doing the quadratic equation the square isn't perfect??

      That doesnt matter, the answer would just end up with decimals. But usually in school they never give you equations that include decimals that are also hard, So if you're in school you shouldnt worry about that just yet. Once you're studying something in a university, then it could become difficult.

      That doesnt matter, Once you divide it by 3 you simplify it, If you dont want it to be simple or you just dont care, You can solve it in the exact same way he did in this video.
