IMPORTANT; I have both boards. I am advanced.. The Super DOA is way too stiff. You're not going get the quick snappy turns you want in the tight technical sections.. the Super DOA wants to point and shoot straight and fast downwards, it's stable and fast for the big black jumps but you have to be accurate on your landings because of the stiff edge. The standard DOA is a better board for 99% of the people out there and is one of the most fun boards you can buy.

Great vid. Your conclusion that these are "very different boards with the same name" sums it up perfectly. I LOVE Capita, and the DOA in particular, but giving a board with very different characteristics the same name was a pretty cynical marketing move on their part to sell more boards by piggybacking on the heritage of the true, original DOA.

I have the DOA and its also light as hell, that's not just a feature that the Super DOA possesses. The boards are both extremely similar, I would say that the Super DOA has a stiffer flex than the DOA which makes it more suitable for bigger jumps, it grants stability and flex when landing after sending BIG jumps or going really fast. The Super DOA in other words holds tech that is wasted on an "average" rider. For anyone who is a little park orientated and prefers jibbing over massive jumps, take the normal DOA. Are you a double cork, back 9 type of guy, go for the Super DOA.
DOA: Biax/Biax glas, SDOA: Triax/Triax glas. SDOA also stiffer in torsion. Different wood cores. SDOA has a special base finish called Monshot Pro Tune.
Just ordered a 155W super D.O.A. I'm more into jibbing than big jumps but since I come in at 5' 9" and 205 lbs I figure that this stiffer model would be ideal for board slides so it doesn't overflex due to my weight haha. I'll let you know how it performs 👍

A lot of riders say the normal doa has the most pop they have ever felt and love it, I think if your a normal rider who is a intermediate or advanced shredder the normal doa would be totally fine. I think the super doa has a lot of nice features but a normal all around rider will not be using them on a Dailey Basis and is paying extra money for features the will not use
In the long run I would say: Pay less for your board, so you can ride more. Of course, if you have the money and you ride all season: take what suits you.
I have a doa, had it for a 4/5 seasons now one of the earlier ones, still in good condition, is there any difference in the years gone, not sure if I should be buying a newer board? 🤷🏻♂️
I'm trying to decide between the Mercury and DOA. I feel like ill be on the mountain much more than the park so I'm leaning toward the mercury. I'm going to park city and hopefully Crested Butte this year. I want some good pop and I like hitting jumps but like I said I will be going through out the mountain more than the parks.

I have been eye balling this board since Tor started riding them but what I noticed is alot guys on hill ride this board small. Im 5'11 185 lbs and am a advanced rider and every review i see guys are riding super mellow on groomers. so I would like to see a review of guys riding back rountry with it or dropping resort inbounds cliffs or something of that nature. Im always looking for another good everything board but afraid to pull the trigger on alot of these boards that are branded as ADVANCED. Alot of them are very soft in my opinion.

Hello! I would go with the Capita, however the DOA because its an intermediate+ board it may not be as forgiving for a new rider. I would suggest getting the Outerspace Living. Its great to learn on but also gives you a quality build and performance to do other things when you enter that intermediate level. I would say you dont need a wide board. As for boots I have the DC Shoe Co judges but try different boots to see what fit and style you like.

Mercury is Arthur longos pro model and he said he would take the super doa if he had to pick one. He also said if you’re going into powder often the mercury could be the way to go
Keep the trice... its such a great deck. Can take it anywhere. The superdoa is lighter, no magne traction so itll take some getting used to, feels alot more rigid of a deck under the feet. Its a very different feel and i didnt like it at first, ive been riding lib for 8 years. But after i got used to it, i like it alot. Very lightweight on lifts, the race base doesnt stick so much on slushy snow and it gives me less leg fatigue.
Keep in mind this is a big air/slopestyle deck... not really an all mountain style deck. Stuff i would go over easily on the trice, id eat shit on the superdoa...Namely thin coverage snow or icey patches.

I’m not sure about this but I think it has to do with what your riding. So if your can’t do much in the park but you want to buy a specific park board then you should buy a beginner park board. And if they just learned to turn there still a beginner. For example you ride a lot in the park and on the piste your good at both then you’re intermediate/advanced but if you are gonna ride pow for the first time your a beginner at that. I hope it makes sense and understand it better. :)
Beginners and early intermediates do better by ignoring the tram and skiing the lower slopes and mid-mountain where there is plenty of more suitable terrain.’...Advanced: can ride both normal and switch, knows how to engage the edges , as well as ride all Terrain , knows how to fall, how to use all body parts for better riding,
Got the DOA last year and I'm a little disappointed. Not with the board at all I love it, but the graphics this year are so sick. Last years were nice too but this years are next level

Strange board, impossible in the elevator youll skid into shit and fall, its unoredictable, uncontrollable and flies off. Dangerous weird strange long uncontrollable. Its like panigale 959. Looks cool but you cant control it properly. Like its stiff where it shouldnt be to me. It doesnt make any sense, the carving is Just stuttery to me

I would go for the Mercury, it is a lot more poppy and stable on jumps than the DOA.
