Actually during the reveal of the flag, one music incorporated in the mix is the Sinulog theme music that should represent the Visayas perfectly.

Theme: Best of Philippines, the music, choreography, the props, costumes are all about Philippines
Dude....not only was this routine like 6 minutes long, but they did NOT stop. The communication and camaraderie must be insane in this team. My favorite part is watching their transitions and how they interact with each other. You can tell if a team is going to make it or break it off of that. Lastly, the way they set at the very beginning of the routine....you know it’s gonna be off the chain. These skills, the cleanliness, the execution, and the continuous transitions. There were some things in this routine I’ve never seen done 🤯🤯🤯 they made it look easy #killers
It was that NU's 4-man cannon ball jump without wobble, due to the timely theme because the upcoming seagames that held in the Philippines will be the host country and the costume they transformed into 3 categories: military, athlete and SariManok that nailed it for them.
It’s much harder this year, because their mountings now are so difficult and their dismounts is much harder than the previous years if you guys noticed, and Coach Ghicka (NU pep coach) said that this year’s performance is 10x harder and a tribute for all Filipinos “Philippine Theme”, They changed their clothes, every pyramid they have new costumes to present which represents the 3 major island of the Philippines, in 3:53 the formation represents the division of colors is the Philippine Flag (top view), 4:37 the formation represents the Sun in the Philippine Flag and the 8 Flyers represents the 8 Rays of the Sun, saying that “whenever Filipinos had the biggest struggle in their lives, when they fall at the end, still they will rise again”. 6:34 the 3 Stars in the Philippine Flag. And at final dance the “Sarimanok” Legendary Bird in Phil.

I disagree with you guys. I think this year was harder compared to the previous year in terms of how fast the pacing is between stunts and pyramids. Just look at the amount of twisting they did in this routine.
I agree with you. Last year dance routine was more entertaining but the stunts this year is on a higher level.
I have to disagree to Yani this time. The level of difficulty this year was way up there. This routine was way difficult and way dangerous. The pacing between pyramid sequence was so fast and it was made with minimum percentage of success but they did it, the stunts was far from the possible. Last year's, on the other hand, was safe, simple and sure. They made sure they will go back on the top using simple dances and stunts but assuring that it is clean and physically captivating. It was like dances and stunts that plays seemlessly attractive to your eyes. Maybe that is the reason why Yani thinks it eas more difficult. :)

Yes this year's routine is harder than the previous year. Everybody needs a replay button to cope up what just happened. The pyramids they did are in fast pace. Their coaches mentioned it on interview that they downgraded last year's (2018) routine because they performed too difficult routine on 2017. For this year's routine their back on complicated and more difficult routine. So next year another level up for NU since they pull off an out of this world performance.
The siren routine (2017) probably got stuck in their memory. That one still had more difficult stunts than this one (except for the shot gun stunt here).
But pyramids, I'll give it to 2019. But some 2018 pyramids are also here, just had a little modification but essentially the same skills.
That's probably why they felt this is safer.

NU's theme is called #BayanNaman. It's like giving tribute to nation. The firy thing on their butts is a Sarimanok's tail. If you can also remember they have feather-made-fan that signifies the wings.

I hope that a major TV network in the Ph would feature cheer dance as a reality show so that all cheerdance team in the Ph can participate.. sawang sawa na ako sa mga singing competition eh, likewise sa mga dancing competition.. And lets see if NU pep squad could still reign as the best cheerdance group..
The theme is “Balik Pinas”. Their previous performances were more on showcasing international themes. This time around, they felt - it’s high time to be back in the Philippines.
And Sarimanok is the symbol
Given the fact that they were the first time to showcase the hardest toss ever which is the pike open double fulls is a proof that this routine is by far the hardest being presented on the MOA mats. Comparing their 2015, they had the 4 sets of scorpion dismount and now, this year, they made ut 8 sets of scorpion dismounts. also the one leg lift being showcased on the first minutes of the performance, plus the pacing of their transitions were totally out of this world.

According to the coaches, 2019 routine is the most difficult. You know why?
Check the last pyramid. When they are forming a pyramid, they throwed mid flyer. Then in HALF A SECOND, they throwed the top flyer CONTINOUSLY. Then forming again another pyramud, throwed the single top flyer while spinning to the top with no hesitations. As in no idle time. Sunod sunod.
Though the pyramid is not a unique as their previous routine like 2014-2015-2016-2017, this year's pyramid is an upgraded version. Its super fast and super solid. Faster than 2013-2018 routine.
Try to compare other teams pyramid formation. Its too slow and there is an idle time while sa NU dire-diretso. Bawal huminga.
The dance part, for me NU is better than FEU. Though FEU's music is danceable and relatable, they still performed it like a professional dancer. May pitik. Solid. The energy is over the top while NU pep dancing like SAKTO lang. Yan ang sabi ng coach nila, prohibit to exert more energy. Saktong energy lng pra di mabilis mahingal especially their routine is nakakahingal. Walang hinto.
The dance part for me, NU still wins. Madami silang ginawang formations than FEU though di naman sila nagkakalayo ng points.
In short, the transition is crazy fast.

It's soo hard to beat this guys. Why? First, they've got ghicka bernabe who is a former gymnastics champ, second they've got the calleja sisters, Marnelli Calleja was my batchmate in school here in Norzagaray, Bulacan and she got her two younger sister and they are the gymnastics champ always in regional. They always grab the gold for our province. Third their coach Ghicka is also a great dancer and choreographer. I've seen her dance and compete in our school when i was in highschool. I think she's a year older than me coz i was in the same year and section with her younger bro adam aaron. They're soo good and they always makes us so proud. I hope i'll see them in this year's fiesta. Go NU! Go Garayeños! We are so proud of you!

COSTUME/PROPS:
As you can see they did 3 costume reveal. The first one was the traditional costume of the male filipinos which is Barong Tagalog. The Second was the flag of the Philippines and the last costume reveal represents the SARIMANOK which is a mythical bird here in Philippines. Their props was related to the sarimanok as well.
at 3:53 their formation represents the Philippine Flag. Then at 4:37 they did a sun figure that was also present at the flag of the PH. And at 6:35 they did 3 Stars which is also at the flag of the PH. And the stars represents the 3 major islands of the PH which is luzon,visayas and mindanao.
And for their highlight pyramids
Here at 2:58 the name of that pyramid is MABUHAY LUZON,
Then at 7:05 the name of that is ISLAND HOPPING VISAYAS.
Lastly at 9:41 that was called SARIMANOK MINDANAO.

this year, fast phase, all movements or formations took in split seconds but synchronized, no idle moments in between each formations, no distorted formations even while changing to a new formation, the new one is the twirls on tumbling.

Yani is right the previous years has more death defying stunts. But I also think that this year's performance is kind fast. It's like they're dancing a x2 speed dance challenge which I think is very difficult. They are very quick in each routine and they were able to perform it perfectly. Stunts are techanically complicated and hard but they make it look safe to do maybe because they're doing it in a fast pace. Anyway congrats to my Fave Team👏👏❤❤

I'm not sure if you noticed it but they changed costumes TWO times. First was Barong Tagalog, the intro. Representing Luzon. Second was the white flag deconstructed representing Visayas and the last one is the Sarimanok which represents Mindanao.
The whole performance is a tribute to us Filipinos.
Every after cheerdance competition though they upload a tribute videos showing the process of the performance throughout the year.
Also, about deathdefying performance, It is not anymore possible due to the issue happened last CDC S78. There are new rules that should be followed. So CDC is now more on execution, creativity and pacing.

Maybe because they perfected the difficult skills already that they made it look easier to execute. I understand why you're saying it's more death-defying last year compared to this year, I think because their last year's routine was more visually appealing than this year's.
