    I've re-uploaded this video due to a sound issue on the previous upload. I apologize if the sound isn't the best - this was filmed a little differently and that impacted the sound some. But hopefully this version is better than the previous video which I've removed.

    One more comment, I like tying my middle strings outside the cover because I do not like the knot bump. Haha.
    And I love your barb idea for the enclosure elastic. You were gracious enough to send me some years ago and I love converting all my elastics. And I have note of the ones from your Amazon list when I need more. Thank you again!

      I’m so glad you enjoy the barbs too. It was one of my favorite discoveries. Makes such a difference especially in a folio.
      For the strings you can get a closure that would wrap around the elastic to not have to knot (kinda similar to the barb process) or you can even glue them - similar to what I do to make jump bands. If that’s something you want to see let me know and I can make a note for a future video.

    Wow! This is amazing! I love how he uses it for its intended purpose and he doesn’t baby it. It looks amazing after you doctored it up but I liked it before too just not the stifness. 😂.

    Looks fantastic! I just got a Moreland CS in this week and I'm trying to get rid of the shine and make it look as used/roughed up as possible...lol. Love the look of old leather.

    Wow now that amazing! I hope you let chic sparrow know about this, it’s a testament to the Mr Darcey/wickett & Craig leather. It really looks beautiful.
    I have some nice horse hair brushes from my dad, can you tell me what exactly the brush does. I think I remember Jenifer having a video and she used it. Do you need to use the conditioner or oil before? Or does the brush help with the leather as is?
    I could probably google, but I’d love your opinion!

    • @JustScribble
      @JustScribble  Месяц назад +1

      I'm glad you enjoyed it! So the horsehair brush restores shine to your leather. After you condition/polish you use it to get better coverage of what you applied plus get higher shine. You can use it to removes dust beforehand but I just use a cloth or old tshirt for that because I prefer to use my brush for the shine/finish. It works best if you use it after you apply the conditioner or polish to your leather. That said, I don't use it on a leather like Creme or Pemberley. I tend to not brush textured leathers - you can - just my preference. I instead massage those with my hands more often than not.

      Thank you shiv. I’m going to condition one of my leathers soon and experiment with the brush. Thanks again for all your videos.

    So informative and your restored piece looks amazing! When using saddle soap, what kind of conditioner do you use?

    • @JustScribble
      @JustScribble  Месяц назад

      I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Generally one of my conditioning balms (usually from Tandy Leather or Otterwax). But I also love Bickmore Bick 4 Leather Conditioner. Any of them work great. And depending on the leather or my mood I'll add a polish that makes the leather shinier. Hubs doesn't care for the shine so didn't polish his since it's just aesthetics. :)

      @@JustScribble Thanks! :) I was cleaning the closet recently and found a brown leather jacket I didn't know I had. I don't think I'll add a polish but I'm glad to know it is an option. I have saved this video. Thanks again!
