@@Zommee I think she's being funny about the size of the pot and then the wrong dirt. Guy in blue was kinda bossy even though he was asking for help for the other guy
@@jenivettebigham7060 Thanks for your comment.... I just thought I'd mention.... I have learned a lot about plants & gardening in general since watching this video & I re-watched this video just now & actually the guy in the blue didn't know what he was doing, (I don't have much faith in the other guy either, using plain dirt, and using another, calling it "coconut stuff" when it's "Cococore!" then grabs another bag of, (we have no idea what's in it?!) Yet it's suppose to be a "how to video" - how to videos include "everything they use! Not this one!) Anyhow.... depending on the type/kind of plant when transplanting you're only supposed to go up in size no more than 2 inches (or 4 inches if it's a fast indoor plant) & 1-2 inches if it's a slow growing plant such as a succulent. This way the plant grows naturally & can progressively graduate into the next size pot correctly and eventually get into the "big pot" that the human eventually wants it in. (you cannot rush "Mother Nature!") So, this guy's first pot choice was the better option for the plant, because if I am correct it looks like the plant is in a 3 inch nursery pot, and anyone would be crazy to go from a 3 inch to a 3 gallon pot, irregardless of how "he thought the roots looked!" Too big of a pot is asking for trouble! And, to note if the other guy was there to "teach him" he should have spoken up & told him about the transplanting pot size incriment requirement for plants & not just "what you feel like!" or "what looks better!" in my opinion they're both idiots! Last year I was a complete novice & would believe just about anyone.... Not anymore! P.S. & yes, I agree blue shirt guy was being abit bossy, but I still never quite understood that chicks initial comment "I got all the drama I needed during this Covid 19 quarantine," because even after re-watching it I still don't see any drama lol & I just think that lady must've been high & seeing shit that wasn't there lmao I dunno, but I guess everyone's perception is different! God bless & stay safe out there!
Excellent - I was searching for how to transfer plants to larger pots without disturbing them and this video is spot on. It's okay not to take away the dirt and roots they already have and are used to..
Exactly what I thought that’s why I want to make a comment and then I read all the comments lol I was yelling I want to watch how to transplant do it already !! Smh
This was awful to watch lol. I mean why even bother posting this? I'm not meaning to be disrespectful it's just the fact the whole thing was silly. Put dirt in small pot. Dump small pot into big pot. Not even bothering to break up the roots. All that happened to that plant was probably shock and may as well stayed in the original pot.
Thanks for this, but I'm having a problem getting my plant out of the clay pot because it's rooted in there. I can't "roll" it the way you did in the video because the pot is solid. How do I get it out of the pot so I can move it to another one?
An old plastic " throw-away" chair helped me Achieve That yesterday: turn your Pot upside-down and Tap it against the Seat of the old chair, while Holding/Keeping the Plant safe with your hand: Dirt will Fall to the Ground and to the Chair ... if Light Tapping doesn't work and there are holes in the bottom of your Clay pot they may need to be poked Inward with a small stick
I love the way he demanded a bigger pot for the little plant more freedom more freeeeeedom, he wanted better life for the plant god bless him and that plant I bet it’s huge now with all that love 🙏💙👍
SuperiorEgg9395 I totally agree, I’ve just recently repotted my orchids and they loved. It they have even grown abit longer now they r loving all that space n freedom to grown 💙🙏
What if you've been growing your plant in a tin...? I got chillies as a birthday gift and planted it in the tin that was provided with but it'll soon outgrow the tin by the looks of it, need to transfer it to something bigger!
very helpful. can you Please Tell Us How to Move a Small Basil Plant from a small One Pot to Bigger one ( actually there were fully grown four plants ),
I thought you should have Put some drainage stones in the bottom so it is not waterlogged. Also You need to cut or spread out the roots as it will become Root bound again. You guys need to redo this video..Sorry ! You both Failed at this on...Too much hassle........I am not a Gardener but those are basics to all plants to Repot.
I mean don't get me wrong I've never grown but it does interest me. I think the 3 gal was the right choice. I'm thinking more extreme like solo cup to 5 gal bucket would cause moisture to stay trapped causing moldy soil.
Keith FatBaby Williams This is more accurate. From small to really large is a waste because the roots aren't developed enough to expand in the pot. It's more so about waste than it is disease when you do this. You'd have to waste more water and nutrients filling up the soil where the roots don't exist.
It may be harder because of the rigid walls of the pot, but the same process can be used, or with care, a hand trowel can be used to separate the soil and plant from the pot walls. We do not encourage using metal pots as they can rust, depending on the material, and are not easy to worked with.
Does this work the same with marijuana? I want a bigger yield and i read that the more space your roots have the bigger yeild you'll have, does anyone here know if thats true? Or can i leave it in a regular plant pot.
We used a medium of coco and perlite, which is a common mix. Nutrifield and foxfarm are two popular brands. We carry both and many others on our website, as well as any growing equipment you might need.
is it bad for the plant to get it's roots exposed to air or light? I had this tiny plant in this pot, I wanted to move it to another pot but as I tried to remove the plant, all of it came out in my hand with it's tiny roots visible without any dirt around it. I just quickly shifted it to the small hole I had dug in the second pot and filled it. So is all this gonna be bad for my tiny infant plant? or is it gonna die?
Completely wrong For 1 you never roll the pot in your hand you gently squeeze the sides of the pot..for 2 when transplanting you want to take the pot your plant was in put it inside the new pot to make sure the top of your old pot is flush with the top of your new pot then before putting any more dirt in your pot put the plant in the new part and then put dirt around it to fill in the space between your plant and pot.. the last for not waste never ever ever ever ever pack down your after a few waterings your soil will pack itself packing your soil you're only hurting your roots and making it almost impossible for them to stretch and grow
From my research I have learned you don't put a small plant into a large pot because the small plant cannot use the water/nutrients fast enough and the soil molds/rots. If you have a plant in a small container you have to water more because the plant is using the water/nutrients faster.
Keith FatBaby Williams Soil won't mold or rot if it's set in the right environment. High humidity and high temperature provides the perfect environment for baddies to grow in your soil. You want to transplant from small to large to help prevent root locking-- which prevents faster growth and high nutrient and water uptake. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

How do you transplant " money plant" which are all spreaded on the wall into large pot?
Do I need to trim the roots before transferring it to a bigger pot?
break the roots up and get them nice and loose
