Very interesting and cool build! I test rode a regular minimax in Copenhagen this summer, still not ready to bite that €€€€ bullet for the ti frame set, but god it’s pretty… Doesn’t the belt take some of the liveliness of the ride away? What made you go for 155 mm cranks, the bike looks like a medium size?
Ya I totally feel you about the price of ti. I had just sold 2 bikes so I went a bit crazy here. Honestly I haven’t felt any sloppy vibes with the belt! Sometimes I even forget it’s not a chain, I do think the onyx hubs on the NOBL rear rim helps a lot with the responsiveness.
For the cranks, I had read a bunch of stuff on Appleman cranks and thought I would give them a try as I would be spinning my legs a lot and so far so good! Only about 200km on the setup so far. Going to film a first month in Montreal video soon which will be fun
Nice. What was the Gates belt length? Dig the setup. Nothing beats how stealth/quiet a single speed Gates belt bike can be. I swapped out a drivetrain to it on an old-ish Specialized AWOL, and it's just...the best.
with 57 mm tyres and a 16 kilo bike you'll need at least 492 watts continuous to climb a 10% grade in comfort over 60 revolutions per minute cadence if you have 42x20 gearing(~58 inches). surprisingly this only goes up to 599 watts if you put 20 kilos on the bike for the same climb.
i do like the simplicity / low maintenance of a Single speed...but don't think i'd like Walking A Cargo bike up Inclines!! i gotta have the Luxury of some 'Speed/gears'! i noticed you're in B.C. any Omnium stores ( in Ontario ).?.....would 'luv' to test ride The Mini ..before purchasing!! cheers
I actually was in Copenhagen a year ago and that’s where I test ride them all. I love the mini!!! Honestly you won’t be disappointed with any of the bikes and the team is super great to deal with. I ordered the frame internationally and duties weren’t terrible so that is a good option if you can’t find a shop.
@@sanslait oh wow!! you just 'ordered' the Frame..'internationally'? then you built it yourself?....i know the Frame alone for the Mini.( is about $1000. CAD ).. But ..buying the parts for it..& labour charges..would be 'PRICEY?? cheers!
Ya, built it up myself, really wanted to build one up. And if you make a parts list and shop around on pinkbike or marketplace you can score some good prices and it allows you to really customize it. The stock builds are still great though.
great, thanx for that! 👍🏻 it makes waiting for my Ti Cargo even more harder 😉

I agree! It’s so nice, and it’s 120 teeth so I think that’s the length!
Hell nah, don’t believe that seat is comfy. Sick vid, and sick bike though

Woah crazy stats! I have experienced those watts. Good thing it’s flat where I’m moving :)

Ya I fully agree! If I was staying in BC I would for sure have some shifting abilities, but for flat Montreal it’s going to be a blast!
