5:52 Honestly, 20%-25% success rate for virtually zero planning and very little R&D is pretty good. If a rocket company was just eye-balling parts onto a rocket engine with no plans or modeling and 1:5 of those rockets even went half straight into the air, it’d be impressive.

The Fancy Lad crew is one of my favorites in skateboarding. Like any field/sport, skaters can get caught up in what types of tricks are "proper" or whether or not something actually can be called "skateboarding." These guys could give two shits and really expand the definitions of what it means to skate. Check out their video "Is This Skateboarding," a modern classic that references one of the most famous skate videos, "This Is Skateboarding."
I will check it out on the name The Fancy Lad Crew alone, thanks! I've always been a fan of people who did unorthodox tricks extremely well in any of the boardsports, which is what drew me to this video.
Indeed. If all people had a rigid mentality of what is and isn't "proper" we'd never have skateboarding in the first place as people wouldn't have dismantled a perfectly good set of roller-skates and attached them to a plank of wood.

I LOVE Matt Tomasello ,fancy lad and wired, so this is a crossover I wasn't expecting but I am very grateful for. For the racord Fancy Lad is his skate team and they release videos full of shennaigans like this. Just hilarious wacky skating and good vibes, even non-skaters almost unanimously love it in my experience.

As a guy who skated throughout the 90s and 2000s, I can definitely attest to the importance of learning how to fall. Other than bruises, I never hurt myself skating. I have, however, broken bones and sprained ankles doing regular things like walking down stairs. 🤷🏻♂️
