  • COLLEGE DECISION REACTIONS 2023! Hi! I wanted to share my college decisions with you all to give you insight into the college admissions process. I am a high school senior from Seattle, WA graduating in the spring of 2023 and I applied to 13 schools total for the fall of 2023. If you have any specific questions that aren't answered in this video, please comment down below and I will do my best to answer any questions you have :)

I was born and raised in Seattle so seeing another WA resident is always fun! I ended up going to WWU but graduated back in 2017. Then I moved to AZ for my Masters (I went to ASU), but seeing you get into UA was cool! Im now living in Philadelphia going to law school out here. Just goes to show that whatever school you end up going to, you'll definitely achieve your goals no matter what!

You seem like such a bright person. Congratulations on getting into University of Arizona and UCSD! I know University of Arizona has a great campus and their student population is full of amazing people! I applied to 7 UCs and my decisions were ... unexpected. I think it's the housing crisis and yield protection, but I got waitlisted to UC Santa Cruz. I was honestly expecting to get in because I have a strong GPA compared to what I read about UCSC admissions and their GPA threshold. I also got rejected from USC and UC Berkeley, but I've gotten over them now... the only disadvantage USC has with rejecting me was that their sports teams lost me to UCLA ;)
I'm having a difficult time deciding where I want to go, but I have to make a decision in a week, so I'm really thinking about it. I hope your college experience is as great as you hope for it to be. Congratulations again on your acceptances!! :)

You are so sweet! Thank you so much, and congratulations on your acceptances too! The application process was so crazy this year, so I definitely understand the feelings you're experiencing! I wish you the best of luck on making your final decision, and you'll definitely end up where you're meant to be :)

@@hello.its.evelyn Thank you so much! The same goes for you! And yes, apparently, UCLA had the largest applicant pool this year! I forget the number but you might be able to find anyone who was accepted that let you read the letter. It was way past several thousands. That goes to show how crazy this year was.

@@robjohnston366 dorothy, this should have absolutely no bearing on your decision whatsoever. if the schools admit you and they know about your disability, they have to accommodate no matter what, so don't fear that. plus, when I was accepted into ucla last year, I loved the campus.. it was amazing. while I loved it, even with Columbia, Cornell, northwestern, and some other great schools with beautiful campuses and resources, I chose hopkins and I love it!

@@hello.its.evelyn Sorry Evelyn, I deleted my previous post because it had very little pertaining to you on your channel. If you're eventually aiming for UDub, I'm sure that they will come through for you. If you were from California and aiming for a UC, I'd recommend that you go to one of its community colleges. But your situation would depend on the Washington's community colleges, and I'm sure that they're very good. I have no doubt that you'll be at UDub eventually, and it's not where you begin, but where you end up. All the best!

Thank you so much for this kind comment! My biggest piece of advice might sound a little cliche, but it is so true to the experience of myself and others: keep an open mind and truly consider all of your options, and if something doesn't go as you expected or hoped, know you will find and end up where you're meant to be. I hope to make a stats and extracurriculars video sometime soon, so definitely stay tuned! :)

    But…
USC was not your first choice?! 😳
    What!?!
Just kidding, but as a Trojan alumni I was rooting for you anyway!
USC was very hard to get into this year; the acceptance rate was 9.9%!
I don’t know if you’ve ever had a chance to visit the campus but it is extremely beautiful and I’m sorry you didn’t get to experience your time there…
I hope wherever you go you get the experience of a lifetime, and whatever you end up doing I hope it is fulfilling and positive.
Now go make a dent in the universe!!!

really no hate and I ofc do understand that you are a proud USC alumni, but it seems a bit braggy if you leave a comment like this under pretty much every college decision reaction video that is out on youtube - especially if the person in the video did not get in 😄 Also USC is for sure a good school but not the dream of everyone, even if this was the case for you

It's important to keep in mind that which college you go to doesn't really make much of a difference in your employment prospects after you graduate. If you don't get into a super competitive or prestigious university, that is OK. People who have gone to super competitive universities will try to argue that this is not true, but the reality is, this fact has been proven by economists over and over. As for me, I started at a community college in Oregon, and I then applied to and transferred to Southern Oregon University to complete my bachelor's. I now have my bachelor's.
