    35 years ago I worked for a towing company in Los Angeles, I had a 40 ton 3 axle Pete, I got a call for a 10 ton truck, so I'm driving all around Florence and the 110 freeway, I can't find the dead truck so I call in to dispatch, as I'm talking to dispatch I see a guy waving at me, so I drive over to him, he said are you here for me ? As I'm talking to dispatch it urns out this guy had a Chevy S-10 !!, a little pick up truck 😆😆😆 . So he told dispatch it was a 10 ton truck !! So being paid on commission dispatch said you can tow it or we can send a small truck it's up to you. So I towed it !! It looked comical, a baby pickup on the back of a 40 ton wrecker. Well I got my Big $30.00 commission 😆😆. GREAT VIDEO Thanks William Orange county, ca.

    Eh, thats nothing. I got a call one night for a dump truck on its side in a 10 ft deep ditch. Had to divert a truck on its way to winch a good customer as well as roll our NRC with no under reach since it was on the shop floor getting the crossbar pin rebuilt. Ended up being a civic that was actually on its side in the ditch. Ended up using a heavy to bring it back to the road while one of us ran back to get a flatbed. Fortunately though the owner had insurance and he made it sound like it was at the bottom of the marinas trench, so we got paid for using a heavy to recover as well. But thats one of the very few times we've had good luck.

I wondewr if they reported a train derrailed after collision too but the railroad replied 'nope, we are not missing any trains tonight". But regardless, I think you both took some shortcuts here. • @steadholderharrington9035
      @steadholderharrington9035 4 года назад +1

      Why was a flat bed dragged into that situation at all to begin with? I've seen a cube van on the back deck of a flat bed, and that was stupid enough as it was. The only reason it was there to begin with was that it had snapped its back axle while carrying a capacity load inside its van box. Turns out it had just had a full re-build axle rotor job done on it the previous day, and the numb-nuts mechanic forgot to repack grease into the axle rotor housing with the ball bearings, and so on the highway, the ball-bearings heated up and then melted down and slagged the entire rotor system and that in turn snapped the axle when it suddenly seized.
      The only thing that I've seen that was even more ridiculous than that was having a heavy rescue rotator wrecker towing a one-ton wrecker that was already towing another one-ton wrecker that had been in turn hauling an ambulance; and all of the wreckers were from the same towing outfit. It was not one of the prouder days for that towing company, let me tell you, and it was damn hilarious when we saw them pull into their yard and then watched the driver's of the towed wreckers get a royal ass-chewing by the company owner, right there in the yard about doing proper maintenance checks and pre-trips to their vehicles before taking them onto the street. You could hear the chewing out blocks away that day, it was so loud.

    • @steadholderharrington9035
      @steadholderharrington9035 4 года назад +1

      And yes, I was the unfortunate driver of that cube van who's axle had snapped, and I had ridden back to the yard of the towing company with the driver (after spending the better part of the day sitting on the side of the highway waiting for said tow trucks), and I was doing some paperwork with the tow operator when that train-wreck pulled into the tow yard and the fireworks show began in earnest. 😂😂😂

    Ho-ly $heee-it. This is truly a case of MASSIVE Overkill to rescue a piddly little three ton box truck from a menacing short concrete wall and treacherous metal post! Epic recovery? Not really. And it looks like you have enough lights on just one of your trucks to light up the Hollywood sign, from Beverly Hills.
    I'm guessing that Vernon P.D. has never seen anything larger than a pick-up truck in that city if they consider this little joke of a truck a "Big Rig w/Trailer". That is so incredibly sad that laughing at them might actually end up killing what ever laughable career the Vernon PD officers who reported this as a big rig w/trailer roll over to the towing company. Morbid curiosity makes me wonder if it actually did kill their careers or not.
    And then the cops considered THIS? THIS? To be on the RailRoad tracks?! Good GOD!! You can fit a fully set up rotator in the space between that truck and the railway tracks and Still be free and clear of any interference from the passing and operation of any trains on those tracks. Question, why wasn’t the owner in cuffs? With the California laws on the requirements insurance of business trucks? No insurance? What if he hit someone and killed them? Then what?
    When I owned my landscaping business back in the 90’s I had a million dollar policy on my truck when I started the company and it was just an old 1977 Ford F350 flat bed I converted into a dump. I lived in California while I was in the Navy... I do not like North Carolina but there is no way I would live in California with their stupidity high taxes and strict gun laws! The Democrats have ruined that state!

    You don’t need this huge towing. Towing truck pulled this disabled truck out of the way.
