Lol that is a very optimistic view, personally i think it is going to result in a week of people constantly snitching on one another and screaming at each other on what is and isn't appropriate behavior before they all realize that Vaush completely forgot about it about five minutes after he ended stream...... I agree with Vaush that some community references are overplayed. I think you can do them with a twist, but alone they are just old news. A chatter brought up Professor Flowers as one of these references that's overplayed, and that one in particular has been frustrating to me. Not just because it's an old reference to some woman Vaush debated years ago, but also because of the context it gets brought up in.
Any time land back or anything related to it is talked about, someone brings her up. After October 7th, many people in the subreddit kept bringing her up in the context of criticizing the pro-Palestinian marches that came after . I've seen Vaush criticize Bioshock Infinite for playing into the narrative of "fear of retribution" in its depiction of a black slave revolt, and some chatter's minds immediately go into "but Professor Flowers." It's weird and kinda embarrassing that some of these broader ideas are so linked with one person Vaush debated years ago in the minds of some people. Vaush was right in the debate, but I think it left some viewers, a small but noticeable minority of them, with some weird and questionable ways of thinking about these topics.
Some members of this community are having many a normal one, I see.
An ACTUAL community reference that would make sense for this conflict would be how NonCompete's "the material conditions determine the morality of the situation" line of logic is basically the current Zionist line about how "all means are now justified."
It's still reaching to ancient lore, but there's SOME point to be made that isn't just racism lol

Nah, I think Quebec should have the right to teach all of their classes in French. I honestly don't know if they don't do that. I had a transfer student in 1 of my high school classes, a really cute slim fit guy who knew how to fight who was from Quebec. He said the only reason he was good with English is because after his parents separated, 1 of them stayed in America, or went to America, I forgot exactly how it went down tbh

As a non Québécois French Canadian. Quebec should 100% be able to teach their classes in French but still have an English class.
It's how I was taught and I speak good English. At least in par with my peers, but unlike my fellow French friends who went to English immersion, I can still speak fluently in French.
