@@hoppeanofasgard1365 Sorry, but your take is what's deluded. Smallville was NOT an alternate universe/elseworlds take on Superman. Do you really think that WB would sign off on a young Superman show that didn't end with Clark Kent becoming Superman and ending up in Metropolis with Lois Lane? Look at Gotham. That show ended with Bruce Wayne becoming Batman because that's the only way either show could end. No, Clark's relationships could not have gone in any direction. Get it through your head. Lana Lang is ALWAYS destined to be the woman that gets left behind. Superman & Lois proved that. As for your absurd alternate ending for season 5, no TV screenwriter in the world would end a show on a cliffhanger. The ending of the show was always meant to end with a time jump that would show Clark in Metropolis. If the show had ended in season 5, it would have time-jumped ahead to Clark in Metropolis with Chloe being revealed to be Lois Lane. That original cliffhanger ending of season five you mentioned with Clark and Lana's wedding was a storyline that was intended to lead into season 6, where Clark and Lana's wedding would be called off. But Miles Millar and Alfred Gough wisely decided against that since it would have taken Clark and Lana's storyline too far, since Lois had already been introduced by that point. Let me remind you that Miles and Al came up with a lot of ideas that they never followed through on. Did you know that Miles and Al originally intended for Chloe Sullivan to turn out to be Lois Lane? That's why they had her submit her articles to The Daily Planet under the pseudonym "Lois Lane" after her editor told her that they couldn't have her real name associated with the newspaper. So Lois Lane was always the intended ending of Clark's story, whether it was Chloe or Lois. Millar and Gough had a habit of coming up with storylines that they later discarded. The show very easily could have ended with Chloe Sullivan becoming Lois Lane and Clark and Chloe ending up in Metropolis. But again, Millar and Gough were constantly adjusting things. But once again, there is no universe anywhere where Clark and Lana end up together, because if Clark ended up with Lana, he doesn't become Superman, and that would have been a waste of a TV series. What people like you don't get is that Smallville had the potential to be a truly great superhero drama, but Lana kept turning it into a damn soap opera.
@@44excalibur Yes I do, and I know that they did because if you listen to the interviews of these producers they'll tell you straight up that they never wrote much more than 1 season in advance. That's just how it was done back then, even Tom Welling confirmed this in an episode of Talkville by saying, things were just done differently back then. They didn't have everything laid out like todays series. New ideas came into Smallville with new writers that came too, it was just a completely different time and different way of making shows in that time. And yes, Smallville was absolutely, 100%, an alternate universe from the comics and movies. Meteor freaks, Clark knowing Lex when he was 15 years old and still in high school instead meeting him much later on in his late 20s in Metropolis, him having to deal with general Zod and Doomsday well before he becomes superman, and many other things prove this! Stop trying to force your non factual biases and opinions on the show, it's not going to work on me or any true fan of it that's done their research!
The whole point of their relationship is that they did not get together. Even though a lot of people(including me) wish it would have been Lana and Clark, she was the reason that he is able to have the relationship with Lois that he has.
My personal opinion, I always wanted Clark x Lana after watching Smallville. Lois always seemed like a stuck up “female dog”. Her character personality is stuck up and obnoxious. Clark x Lana in my dreams forever
Lois was a troll compared to me and she always knew it. Clark and I would be together forever if it wasn't for the writers making a plot where I got irradiated by kryptonite. Still to this day I love him, and I know somewhere deep down he still loves me too.
Really? Seemed like Lana is who made him miserable most of the time. He was happiest when he was with Chloe or Lois. Lana was all angst and drama, but no fun.
@@44excalibur Smallville itself was about angst, especially where teen characters are involved. But Clark had plenty of happy times with Lana, and once she knew his secret things were better. She only married Lex because she was trying to protect Clark. Aside from that storyline, most of his time with Lana was very happy, but angst-filled because he was in love with her. You worry most about the people and things you love.
Lana brought out a side of Clark that seemed really happy once there was no one and nothing else in their way. He only ended up with Lois by default. Their romance in this show never seemed genuine to me. It's like she was the second choice and they only wound up together because DC has a formula and he was no longer able to be with Lana.
@@Chinachik Hardly. If you watch the show, Clark was happiest when he was with either Chloe or Lois. Lana tormented him. He's always smiling with Chloe and Lois, whereas he's always frowning with Lana. Also, Chloe and Lois are both the Nancy Drews of Smallville. They're both detectives and reporters, always out there fighting the good fight alongside Clark, which made them fit into his storyline better. Lana was just a love interest, but she had no real identity outside of that, and had no real motivation or curiosity other than whether or not the current man in her life was hiding something from her. Lana's not a heroine, and she's mostly defined by her relationships, which just isn't that interesting. Chloe and Lois are heroines, and they fit into Clark's post-high school storyline much better than Lana, who didn't fit into that storyline at all. As for Clark "ending up with Lois by default," that's nonsense. The Clark/Lana storyline got dragged out way too long and the show's creators have now admitted their mistake, and that they should've ended Clark/Lana after three seasons. To be honest, Kristin's Lana isn't even really like the Lana from the comics. Chloe Sullivan is closer to what Lana is like in the comics. Kristin's Lana, if I'm being honest, would fit in better in Gotham City wearing skin tight black leather and a bullwhip.
@@Chinachik Smallville was not supposed to be about angst, and that was one of the major problems with the show. Smallville is supposed to be about how young Clark Kent becomes Superman. It was originally going to be a show about young Bruce Wayne becoming Batman until the concept got changed. But Smallville is not Dawson's Creek, Clark is not Dawson Leery, Lana is not Joey Potter (who ended up with Pacey, not Dawson), and Clark's story is not the story of some angsty teenage protagonist who obsesses about the girl he loved in high school until he's into his 30s. The show's writers simply forgot the story they were supposed to be telling in favor of caving into the expectations of the network their show was on, which was always in conflict. Gotham did a better job with Bruce Wayne.
@@sheilasknittingtipsandothe3191 oh really? Cuz around 8:20 Clark was using his powers and I thought he didn’t tell Alana his powers until season 6 idk. I’m still watching lol
Lois was the heroine of the show from the moment she arrived in season 4. So was Chloe Sullivan. Lois and Chloe were both the heroines of Smallville because they were the Nancy Drew's of the show. Lois and Chloe were the ones always fighting the good fight alongside Clark, and the only ones he could truly trust. Lana was never a heroine, she was only a love interest; an object to Clark's affection; an idol that he put on a pedestal, but never important to his story.
@@44excalibur When I return, and he sees me again and I look into those blue eyes of his and plant a big one on his lips all of his feelings will return, and he will leave Lois for me. Lois was nothing but the rebound girl, she had nothing on my charm and grace.
@@44excalibur Lana was the light and warmth of Smallville. She was an endearing and sweet character. Your hatred for the girl next door is starting to get disturbing at this point. Let it go already and go watch Lois and Clark adventures of Superman, that show is probably more up your ally. and for your, egh hem, particular age demographic......
He did love Lana then. Unfortunately, I feel like he always had to sacrifice something in order to be with her. The hints were there. It was never meant to be.
@@44excalibur Lois should've stayed in Metropolis where she belonged. It was stupid bringing her into a show called SMALLVILLE before Clark was even Superman.
Yep, only makes sense that it would show his relationships and friendships before his move to Metropolis. People just settle for stuff that doesn't make sense because it's all they know. No creativity and they can't think outside the box at all.
@@Chinachik What was more stupid was Smallville building up Lana Lang as the love of Clark's life when everyone on the entire planet Earth knew from the first episode that Lana Lang was NOT the woman that Clark would end up with. On a show that lasted ten seasons, Lana should not have lasted for freaking seven of them. But Erica Durance became the most beloved Lois Lane since Teri Hatcher, and Tom and Erica to date are the most popular Lois and Clark of all time.
@@Chinachik Well, then you should be disappointed with Smallville's portrayal of Clark's "relationships" and friendships before his move to Metropolis, because Smallville made so much about Lana that it compromised Clark's other relationships and friendships, most notably Chloe Sullivan, who was a far better love interest for Clark by season 5 than Lana. Talk about not thinking outside of the box. Even the show's creators now admit their mistake and that the Clark/Lana storyline should've ended after three seasons. Also, since high school only lasts four years, what were you expecting from a show that ended up lasting ten? Did you really think Lois Lane and Metropolis wouldn't show up?
He was too young to marry Lana and wasn't a man yet. When he fell in love with Lois,he was a man there and he knew more about what he really needed it in his life and that was Lois because she was his strength, not a distraction
It's because DC ultimately has to tell the same humdrum story the same way every single time. They should've just created a spinoff called Metropolis before they brought Lois Lane into his life at all. The creators of the show chickened out on keeping his life before being Superman in Smallville.
Clark's dad was dead by that point in time. Also even though he was mostly against Clark's decision to marry Lana he did come around to accepting it in the episode of Reckoning.

Lmao Clark males a real diamond out of carbon rock and makes a real ring lol

I really like this series
I must've stopped watching this show before season 5. I used to love this show in its early years.
It still breaks my heart that he and Lana didn’t end up together
That makes me happy coz he is even happier with Lois💯💯💚💚🍀🤩🍀
The whole point of their relationship is that they did not get together. Even though a lot of people(including me) wish it would have been Lana and Clark, she was the reason that he is able to have the relationship with Lois that he has.
Honestly
Writers fault, they meant lana+clark to only exist for only 3 seasons, but elongated it for 6 seasons...
That’s not who he is destined for
Clark's human dad was such a hottie. I overlooked him when i was a teen. Now as a 38 year old woman, im like WOW HIS HUMAN DAD IS HOT
Right on! Exactly, I'm with you all the way on this. Lana and Clark for life!
He was happy when he was with Lana …
It hurt me that they didn't end up together 💔
Blame bad writing 😡
Yes, Clark and Lana had much better chemistry. Lois was a Bitch!

I stopped watching Smallville since Lana left and Lois became the heroine of the show.
Same here, Smallville didn't feel like the same show in the last 2 seasons.
Lois had nothing on me, and she always knew it.
@@SynthwaveLana Sorry, but Lois is always the love of Clark's life, and Lana is always the woman who is destined to be left behind. lol

Clark and Lana > Clark and Lois don’t @ me
Lana ruined Smallville and Lois saved it.
Nice to see Bo,Luke and the General Lee 😮
So Clarks father wouldnt let him marry lana but was ok with him marrying lois doesnt make any sence, ya ya i know the writers but still.
Make sense. People should married when they ready for it, not when they think are ready.
It does makes sense lol he's supposed to be with Louis in the first place
Clark's dad was dead by that point in time. Also even though he was mostly against Clark's decision to marry Lana he did come around to accepting it in the episode of Reckoning.
