Smallville was one of my favorite shows growing up it will always have a special place in my heart. I love the foreshadows in the Easter eggs at the show had. Re-watching the seen one of the Easter eggs with steering your rain in the face when Chloe hands Clark the kite it's the red diamond shape that he will later wear on a Superman suit. And of course we seen him float before in the show showing that he's only been able to fly but obviously he didn't really realize that until he fully accepted his Kryptonian side apart from his human side as well so when he fully accepted both sides he could fly. I know in one of the episodes where a movie was shot on the farm for saving her life she gives him a red cape. You got to love these Easter eggs and foreshadowing.
I love that Chloe is okay with the super power stuff. I don't know anything about Impulse. And I'm so used to Justice League with Batman and wonder Woman.
I like Supergirl, Kara had her adoptive parents and sister. The sister becomes a part of the DEO. I miss that show. Stupid Cat Grant blew Kara's cover and then no more Supergirl show
I know Superman and Supergirl are different but in Kal-El and Kara were supposed to be in their pods to earth and she was supposed to protect him, "My pod got knocked off course." Too bad they never met. I don't get why in Superman, the S means Hope and Supergirl, the S means Stronger Together. They are related.
The idea of the Superman crest as a Kryptonian symbol didn’t start until the first Superman movie with Christopher Reeve and there it was that all the various houses had their own symbol that was worn on the chest. The idea of it meaning “hope” came from a comic called Superman: Birthright and the Man Of Steel film used the same idea. Smallville has its own mythology concerning what the S means which is distinct from Man Of Steel or the Supergirl tv series which did it as “stronger together”. Basically each tv series or movie series has its own continuity so it will also have differences in how it approaches things. The comics will have different eras of the character each with their own approach. At the end of the day the S is for Superman and all this other stuff has been kind of added on to it over the years. The idea of it being a Kryptonian symbol is kinda cool but also kinda convoluted IMO. In one of my favorite versions of his origin from the comics Lois names her mysterious flying rescuer “Superman” (when he saves her he’s just in plain clothes) so the symbol is made based on that name when he and the Kents are coming up with the whole secret identity thing costume, glasses etc. so that he can keep living his life as Clark and then be this Superman when he’s needed. So from those humble beginnings the S comes to symbolize something more based on his own deeds and example.
