Chelsea went big in January to speed up the process of a pre-season. Gives Potter the opportunity to build a squad with most of the squad that’s gonna be here. Balancing the number of players is the key now though, and more players should have been loaned at the very least.
there's so many players there that haven't played with each other. Chelsea will need more than half a season plus a preseason to sync if they even do.
@@antoinedoinell Even then, it has to start at some point, so why not do it as soon as possible rather than wait till the summer and have it bleed further into the next season.
Agree. As I say they’ve secured top players but I think they’ve over spent and I’m not convinced they will all work out. They’ve also left themselves with a very heavy squad. We shall see!
@@SpencerFC Chelsea will have a clearout in the summer, one that has been needed for some time too. And the media are making the prices seem far higher than they actually are, only way chelsea are paying 88 for Mudryk is if they win PL or UCL, for example. Chelsea have done a fantastic job by covering up most of the holes in their squad this month, leaving only a few transfers to be desired in the summer, instead of having to do a ton of transfers then. Don't get how so many can call this buying without a plan.
@@antoinedoinell we have added 6 first team players in the window and offloaded one. It’s not as unbalanced as everyone makes it seem. We were short to begin with, and also have major injury problems

I think Chelsea saw that they could easily miss out on top 4, so signed the players now with hope of top 4, before not being a champions league club was a reality and an issue
this chelsea squad has needed a complete overhaul for yeaaaaaaars now and instead of doing it over the course of 3-4 seasons boehly and co have decided to get it done in 1-2. unless the vast majority of these players flop (which no one can know can say either way at this point) this has been nothing short of the greatest january transfer window of all time
What? take it easy mate. Chelsea brought 0 accomplished players, 0 sure things. how can it be the best transfer window of all time? I'm huge on Enzo but we cant be sure its gonna translate into the Premier League. And the fee is completely absurd.
@@arthur99mun Chelsea covered up nearly every hole in their squad in a month. Is Felix not accomplished? Is the best young player at WC AND a crucial piece in the WC winning team not accomplished? No purchases are "sure things" btw, but bringing in player profiles the team has been missing for years is certainly a good place to start

they’ve now spent 80 mill on BACK UP WING BACKS in the last 2 windows. it’s ridiculous, but it’ll work because if any of these signings flop it doesn’t matter they’ll sign another 50 mill replacement no issues.

My respect for him plummited after seeing what he said about Chelsea, clearly has no knowledge of the prices. ALL of the players we bought would have gone to other clubs for the same prices or more in the summer or janurary e.g. Mudryk, Badiashille, Enzo etc.

i like mudryk but the asking price never understood why arsenal was after him with saka martinelli owning both side,he should have cost half that,once they ask for ridiculous inflated price we should have move to another player

Transfer of the window has to be Badiashile for me, he's come in and added youth, exuberance and quality far beyond his years to a leaky Chelsea defense. Chelsea have 3 clean sheets in a row thanks to him and Thiago Silva. So for me, as an Arsenal fan. Singing of the window.

@@Football_Advanced What target did chelsea overpay for by interest? Mudryks price has been overinflated in the media for some reason. Only player I can see the argument of overpaying for is Enzo and I think that case is slightly unique as if chelsea wait till the summer I don't think they get the player, he probably goes elsewhere.
@@samlott5005 100 mil for Mudryk who’s only played in Ukraine and a couple cl games, 120 mil for Enzo who’s played half a season for benfica and 5 starts at the World Cup 🤦♂️ dont get me wrong they’re good players and they’ll probably be great in the future but 220 mil😭
@@Football_Advanced And this is back to the pure jealousy from uninformed people. Mudryk is 60 million with potential add ons if chelsea win the league/champions league. Enzo is £106m only slightly more than grealish cost, pogba cost, haaland cost (if you actually include agent fees), van dijk cost. When it is Chelsea its always mysterious how figures get overinflated to try and suit an agenda.

Nottingham Forrest have had 2 very good windows.
Summer: What sticks out are the many transfers of course, but they basically had no one on their payroll. They came up from the Championship with half their squad as loan players. So they went big in numbers and not big on money so that they could have a 25 man squad without having loaned anyone.
Winter: This time around it wasnt about the number of players, but about the quality of these players. They regained some form, and with additions of quality they might even stay up.
Future windows will look very much like this winter window. Adding quality and not quantity, because they no longer have to.
In terms of squad improvement it’s not even close really. It’s Chelsea and there’s no need to overcomplicate that. They’ve done business that they no longer need to do in the summer. Enzo is a player especially they’ve needed for years.

@@d.akerejola6165 yeah, he’s right at the moment. But if you read my comment, I’ve not claimed our signings were going to make an instant impact. They’re long term signings that I think will help us a lot especially when we get a proper coach and trim the squad.

Everyone is sleeping on Bournemouth’s window. Dango Outtara might be one of the best signings of the window, 11G+A in the first half of the season with Lorient. Joined Bournemouth less than a week before the forest game, with only one training session before playing the full 90mins in his debut. He picked up a crucial assist and man of the match, making the difference in Bournemouth’s first Draw/Win in the past 7 games

Every single signing arsenal made was either their second or third choice. Failing to get your first target makes it impossible to be a good transfer window but let’s just face it Spencer has hated Chelsea for years😂

Southampton double decent
How's Chelsea window not double decent is beyond me? The manager now has extra time to gel the squad before preseason even begins. It's a lot better than buying players in the summer and not having enough time to find the perfect tactics/squad.
Makes no sense
Simple - because of the overspend. If Manchester United got Mbappe and Bellingham in the summer, but they had to pay £300M + £150M, and £800k + £400k a week on wages, would that be a double decent window?
@@jamesfilosa6277 lol none of the new Chelsea signings are overpaid mate. Antony costs united 12 mil a year whereas Mudryk costs Chelsea 10 mil. What a horrendous example you just gave. 🤦
@@ag1879 Antony was also an overspend. And with Mudryk, the overspend is more about the fee and the length of the contract. Joao Felix is another example of an overspend. Look at the loan fee and wages. All that for an Atletico Madrid reject for a few months.

Instead of Chelsea spending over a couple years, they did it in one window. It’s absolutely double decent, it proves Spencer just hates Chelsea. No matter what, he always looks at Chelsea through tinted glasses. So salty when speaking about them, it’s almost the greatest window of all time, not to mention they’ve signed Nkunku too. It’s absolutely the rebuild they needed and have done for the past years, who cares if they did it in one window. I think it’s absolute class business and I’m not even a Chelsea fan. How you’ve not put them in double decent is beyond me, enzo alone is what they’ve needed for years.

I think your take on Man United is harsh. The club is up for sale so we were never going to acquire an abundance of talent in January. Weghorst and Sabitzer both provide other attributes that Eriksen and martial don’t offer. They’re also both in similar quality levels, and competition breeds success

Enzo was worth over 100 because Benfica wouldn’t negotiate plus if Chelsea waited till summer they probably won’t have champions league football to offer and other teams can compete for his signature. So getting Enzo in for that price is justified

Turning the video off after you have put Arsenal in 'double decent' after being mugged off all window chasing primary targets and being told to get lost so resulting in short term fixes and you put Chelsea in 'decent' after having possibly the greatest window of all time. Signed young talents in all the problem areas on the pitch on long term deals so financially the book cost of each player is relatively low, not to mention the owners have ended up reducing the overall wage bill. Such bias against Chelsea is honestly just laughable, yet if Liverpool or united had gone and signed Bellingham this January for 150mil everyone would applaud.

As an Arsenal fan, def agree that Arsenal should’ve been decent at best. However, as for Chelsea, I would still put them in double decent but they failed to cover their problem areas for this season which is the purpose of a January transfer window after all. Did not bring in a RB this season (Gusto being loaned back) and I would reckon that they needed to bring in 1 more midfielder before even selling Jorginho. I think he would’ve worked quite well with Enzo even tbh.
@@rifatk5296 honestly don't agree much, we sorted the key area which was a mobile midfielder with good passing range. The right back slot has been addressed for next year and we only have 18 games left this season (7 more if we go all the way in the UCL). Azpi/chalobah/Reece are more than enough to get us through the season
@@samlott5005 I don’t know, I think many Chelsea fans see this season as a throwaway but Chelsea could’ve made a fair run for Top 4 and still can tbh but I think it really depends on Reece James being fit. I just doubt how possible that is, he’s been injured so much this season. The thing with you lot is that so much of the game comes purely from the fullbacks and maybe that’s something that’ll change now that the midfield is a bit more sured up and there’s been more creativity brought in but I guess we’ll see as the season goes on. That’s why I felt you lot needed a capable RB this season. There’s a reason Chalobah and Azpi are on the way out. Major doubts for me with Potter as well.
At the end of the day though, it’s better to prioritize long term squad building over short term but the whole video is analyzing the January transfer window. The primary point of the January transfer window is for those transfers that couldn’t wait till the summer and for the positons that needed deputizing for this season.

Who cares about the money spent in bringing players in? It's not our money and we are obviously not some type of tax authority! It should be based on the quality of players that have been recruited and clearly Chelsea have done that over anyone else.
Chelsea and Wolves should be double decent.
Chelsea signed quality players all round.
And Wolves have addressed issues they needed to - got another centre back and GK with experience and leadership. Also made quality singings in Cunha and Sarabia for 4.4m is an unreal signing. And Lemina adds bodies in midfield with prem experience and Joao Gomes is a highly thought of youngster for only 15m. Your points throughout the video was ‘have they improved’ and wolves have most definitely done that - more than most teams yet weren’t in top tier?

Wolves decent is fair tbh. I like Dawson but there may be a reason hes been playing as much as last season and they sold him, not convinced Sarabia isn't suited to the prem, Cunha seems like hes a flop transfer waiting to happen 20 league goals in the Bundesliga & La Liga combined in like 115 games. Gomes unproven youngster could hit the ground running or needs time. Lemina was pretty average at Southampton. They've obviously improved their squad bringing some new players in but I'd be doubtful they're all gonna work out.
