Always wondered when a gaurd graduates from Templemore, do they get to choose which division or station they go to, e.g. Can a Dub choose to work in the Dublin Metropolitan Region, in Pearse Street or Coolock.

Sorry this never got a response, Gardaí do not get to choose their station upon attesting. Those with young families are given a certain degree of consideration in most cases, but outside of that, you are sent where management deems you are most needed.
Having said that, typically people are not sent from one end of the country to the other either. On occasion I've heard it has been possible to request being assigned to Dublin as for your first station, this was due to the ever increasing need for Gardaí in the region and only applies to Dublin.
After a number of years, one may request a transfer, which is considered by Garda management on its own merits. Hope that helps.

@@hjkjhgfdsaasdftyhgfvbtrrf7115 Your obviously a guard on minimum wage 😂 and if you must know i am lead mechanic for one of the top BMW dealerships in the country, i have never been in trouble with the guards in my life but even i know that if I wanted to become a guard i could do it tomorrow because let's be honest the only criteria needed is to not have any criminal convictions, be of a certain age, and have a minimum intelligence level of below average. It's a good safe underpaid recession proof job however, some of us want more from our lives than that.

Robert K apply for it so and see how far you get. That was such an unbelievably pathetic comment and highlights the level of ignorance you were raised with. You boast about being a mechanic of all things. That is just embarrassing to be quite honest with you. Would that BMW dealership approve of one of their mechanics speaking in such a way on the internet and bringing the brand into it? I highly doubt so. A very foolish thing to do in an age where your details are a few clicks away. Still shocked as to how you think being a lead mechanic is that fancy? I’m neither and would be much prouder to say I was a guard than a mechanic. Sad reflection on the people that attempted to raise you

Robert K since when am I a guard? I’m literally in uni studying a science field. In fact the whole reason I stumbled across this video was due to searching the Technical Beureau, that’s the closest I’d ever get to the guards and even then they aren’t guards... so what is your point? Do you think calling me a Guard is going to insult me? Like seriously cop on that’s just cringe. I genuinely wonder what kind of upbringing you had if this is the level of shite you produce. Seriously there is nothing to boast about in being a mechanic. Vast majority are incompetent and have a concerning low IQ. Hence why when you look at a cohort of leaving cert students the dumbest won’t be going to uni and instead will be doing shitty level 5-6 courses. It’s the dunces that want to be mechanics. You are a perfect example of the ignorance and deprivation of education that a majority seem to possess. And back to your comment about how easy it is to get into the guards... unlike being a dimwit twisting bolts under a machine, there is a very high demand. A lot of people want to do it. Due to that you’re not going to walk into the field.... somebody like you wouldn’t even be considered. Truly embarrassing I’m actually ashamed for you. Your channel further signifies how sad your life is
I hate to shit on any field but you really are a nasty piece of work and considering you think being a mechanic of all things is something that puts you above a guard means you need to be brought down a level. It shows how much you actually ever achieved in your sad, pathetic life if you think being a mechanic at BMW is that much of a flex. Mentality of a 10 year old which is unsurprising
