I don't get why they wouldn't fix the height on Baylon. I would have totally bought it if it was fixed. Dumb move Hasbro.
I am quite sure they are not updating the mold for him, so soon after the initial release. These things are expensive. And they just blew a lot of money on all those Acolyte figures.
It generally costs $100k+ to make a tool for the molds so I don’t think they’d be willing to spend that kind of money just to fix his legs. Thanks for watching! -Nate

The thing about the Holocomm collection is the light has got to be so expensive. The little plastic credits in the credit collection couldn’t cost more than a fraction of a penny to make. That budget went to fun paints and other things. The light isn’t even bright enough! And the heads on the holocomm figs are too dark. Derp.

For those tempted in getting another Baylan just for the robes, I highly recommend using Mando season 2 Luke's black cloak, and for Shin, the ROTJ Luke's brown cloak! They fit perfectly and look just like they did on screen!

Actually I did that to my Baylan figure once I got it and it does look better!
Edit: "Do you play with them?" I do. I don't smash them against each other anymore like i did as a kid and i don't have them monologue while the Jurassic Park velociraptor clever girl's from behind but i DO play with them. I open the package, i pose them while inspecting them (insert long rant about Black Series legs and feet here), i take fotos for my own amusement. I take apropriate ones out of the display to play with new figures when i get any. That's why i collect poseable action figures instead of (much cheaper) statuettes like the Legion-line: i want to have fun with them. I *get* that they're collection items but they ARE also toys. Don't forget that. I'm 37 this month, i remember action figures being top shelf maximum effort when they had *ellbow* articulation. Any kid would be thrilled to get a modern Black Series figure to play with. (Yes, i know the Vintage Line exists but tbh they consistently look much worse. Very jelly about the amount of clones they get, though.)
Regarding the Holomaul: at least i *can* think of a memorable scene of Maul as a hologram. The entire line so far has been complete hogwash for character selection. Such an amazing idea (imo) but like

as for the Acolyte figures: meh. I'll get the Trinity-one the rest i have no interest in. The figures look good for being figures of those characters but the show looks bland so i got no need or want for them. At least Trinity can slot into my The Force Is Female Display, that needs an overhaul anyway. Though i'm gonna wait til they drop in price.
I'm happy with the pipelines but Gree is a bit of a missed oportunity. We already have a Gree. He sucks but we *have* one. Should've been Bakara or Oddball imo. Or y'know. A new Rex that doesn't suck. Or a rerelease of a Rex that doesn't suck. Basically: give people a Rex that doesn't suck.
My only real gripe is Daedre (Deidre? Daidre?) because i really want a figure of hers but i don't have a display for bad guys D:
That's totally not what I meant by "playing with them." Figure photography, posing, etc. Those are all adult things that we do. That has nothing to do with "needing" the figures before a show comes out though. -Justin
I 100% look at the Acolyte figures and think....oh good The Eternals wave 2. Normally, I would disagree with waiting until the show is out to release the figures 6 months later, but in this case, I stand with you and wait till the show is out. Honestly, I have no desire, and I mean no desire to see this show and when these show up at Ollie's and Ross at least they have soft goods so they may not peg warm as much as The Eternals 😂. I don't really follow the MCU anymore but with Star Wars I'm still gonna give Acolyte a chance. The trailer looked aight. Only time will tell I suppose. -Justin

The best part is recently a lot of HASBRO stuff has been revised and lowered prices. The Holocron figures at Target are only $27.99, Transformers deluxe are back down to $19.99 from $24.99. Voyager class went down from $34.99 to $29.99. The New Clone/Battle Droid 2 pack is only $39.99!!! That's original 2013 $20 a piece prices. Hopefully, HASBRO learned their lesson and dropping prices or staying $20-$25 a figure. The new 4 pack is only $99.99. Just the regular price for 4 figures, no mark-up for being a Pulse/Disney exclusive. I'm very happy about this so far. Oh, and even though the Acolyte series doesn't look that great, at least ALL of the figures shown come with robes and a new release of Baylan Skoll with a robe

It's another one where I don't really get the strategy here. The main focus of the stream was the Acolyte. Nobody has seen that, nobody has any attachment to those characters... the only people pre-ordering will be the ones that get every/almost every figure, and you don't need to do a stream to hype those people up as they're already going to buy whatever you make. If they'd done this same thing, the Tuesday AFTER the first Acolyte episodes dropped then it would make a ton more sense.

I know those dslr issues, that’s why we switched to the zv-e10 from sony. Unlimited power and filming (when connected to usb-c). ✌️
Ohhhhh I like the sound of that. Would you say it still has the video quality of a DSLR??
@@OutOfTheBasement it has great quality especially in lower light situations. Its not a full frame. But it shoots in 4k plus you can utilize it as a webcam.
For further context, we didn't lose the footage. The camera just stops recording after 30 minutes, so all we had to do was hit record again and sync the audio in editing. It's not like we lost any footage, wasn't a big deal! We usually don't shoot over 30 minutes of footage but there was just so much to talk about this episode.
Easy pass for me, Acolyte looks like it's buy these figures now before you see how bad the show will be, although the alien padawan looks good, buying Baylan just for a cloak, because they haven't fixed his height or the lightsaber, not wasting my money, on a more positive note the pipeline reveals look good.

Reminder that The Acolyte is coming out in early June, and these figures are slated for release in October, so the season will for sure be over before these come out. You won't have these figs with the show. They were revealed early, not released early.

I’m actually so excited for the Acolyte wave. I’m just so happy to be able to add some Jedi to my Jedi shelf. Also, I’ve always found it fun getting figures from a movie and show before seeing it. It kind of gives me an attachment to the characters before I even see the show which makes it more enjoyable and more likely that I’ll like the show

Holocom pucks are pretty cool.....I bought on clearance and it's worth it for that. It's very SW and the lights have options for flickering lights. Gimmick for sure you really need 2 pucks to make it look proper.

I pre-ordered the Acolyte figures because I've been wanting more Force users, and personally, as a collector of color, I couldn't pass up on getting two Jedi of color, bringing the total to like 5. Mae might be the fourth Black female character to get a figure. So, I was going to get them one way or another even if the show is booboo. I'm jazzed about all the pipelines, and I was excited about Baylon when I thought, "Surely it isn't just the cloak; they fixed the legs, right" Silly me.

I'm of a similar mind: the Acolyte figures look pretty good, but I have no emotional investment in these characters (yet), so I've no desire to pre-order them.

I somehow lucked out on Baylan! I didn't order online because I wanted to make sure I got the Orange saber version in store. But the lack of orange saber and no height change feels really scummy.

-Maul Holocomm sucks, but I’ll be grabbing Vader and Emperor.
-Acolyte figures are must haves. Excited about the show.
-Pipelines were all great. Most looking forward to that PT Yoda with chair to go with the upcoming RotS Palpatine.
-Selling my original Baylan for the new one; I want the robe.
-Passing on the Villains pack, looks cool though.

On Hasbro Pulse EU Gideon helmet is 170 euros. I'm not sure if the price on US site is wrong but if it's not, I really don't understand such high price difference. For the Acolyte figures I share your thoughts. We have to connection to the characters and I'm also not a fan of buying the figures before the show ever aired. But, on the other hand, we can pre-order them and then cancel if we don't like the show. These are suposed to come out in Fall so we have time to do that.

I did preorder Jedi Trinity just because it's Carrie-Anne Moss but other than that, the new reveals don't do much for me. Mostly since, like you guys said, The Acolyte isn't out yet and everything else is either repacks or just characters I'm not attached to.

The Acolyte figures look great and it’s nice to finally get figures from the High Republic era. I pre-ordered them for now, but will definitely cancel if I don’t like the characters in the show.
Pipeline is full of possible bangers, definitely picking them all up. Hope Syril, Moff Gideon in his Dark Trooper Armor, and Ezra in his Peridea look follow. That Yoda and Gree 2-pack seems awesome as well, and THE THEORY LIVES!
The Masters of Evil 3-pack is a head scratcher, would’ve been better as an Imperial 3-pack replacing Grievious with Palpatine. Might have been tempted to pick that up then, would’ve been nice on card.
As for the Baylan and Shin reveals, I’m pissed. Real scummy to pull an old Marvel Legends move and try and bait collectors to buy it twice. This isn’t an upgrade tho, just an addition of cloaks, so the only way I’d pick up these figures is if I could gift them to my younger cousin and take the robes for myself, but I don’t think he even finished Ahsoka yet. If he’s not interested in them, these won’t be a pickup for me. Agree with Nate, vote with your wallet!

If only you had known the Vader Holo Figure has just been revealed! (and YES it doe's seem to have soft goods cape). I'm personally a bit peeved that Hasbro has given all of "The Acolyte" figures robes when we've been asking forever to have them added as standard, but always told it's down to cost? like you guys there was nothing other than the pipelines that excited me to pre-order. As for Baylan I'm one of the 'Lucky Ones' kind of because I don't have him yet but still a bit peeved that they haven't fixed the leg issue. anyway thxs for Great show as always and looking forward to seeing your reactions on Sunday!

I'm still waiting to see if we ever get a Holocrone figure of Vader, Sidious, Leia, or Jedi Luke, then maybe, we'll see.
As far as The Acolyte figures, I'll wait and see if I want them. The Assassin with daggers is an interesting idea but not sold on getting her. Like you guys, I know nothing about these characters, so I have no attachment to them.
I've no interest in the Amazon 3 pack. I've got two of them and the new Admiral is on preorder at BBTS so I'm skipping this pack.
I never ordered Ballin so I might pick him up. Of course if you do the leg change, the cloak becomes too short so your still screwed on him. If Hasbro waited and fixed him and brought this figure out next year with correct length legs and his cloak the collectors wouldn't be so pissed off.

100% agree, that moff helmet looked cheap AF. I thought to myself, it's convenient it has those "legs", so you can place it upside down and use as a fancy trash bin.
I wonder if they release Ahsoka the white without robe and do a Baylan Skoll v2 with her, then they will surely light up the collecting community for real.
Dedra on the other hand, is the MVP of that presentation. Sign me up for at least 1 (maybe one more for custom female imp).

I like the new Jedi sculpts for the Acolyte. I preordered a couple of them… but will need to wait and see if the show resonates with me. I bought all of the Andor figures because it’s an excellent show, so I hope Acolyte delivers.
As for Baylon… I didn’t get the first Baylon so I might get this one. But his likeness still is not the greatest… and the height issue? Not sure if a cloak makes it worth it…

I preordered the villain pack because I have none of those figures with the exception of Grievous. Despite getting a 3rd Grievous, I did not want to pay the insane upmark on the Return of the Jedi Vader. So getting the Vader I really wanted along with Grand Admiral Thron (despite it being the live action Thron), I preordered it. The Baylan Skoll was very nasty move by Hasbro. It drips of scumbag tactics, and whoever is behind this (maybe Walmart) I hope this ends up at Ollie's after a year of sitting on the shelf like Lando Calrissian the Empire Strikes Back version. Thanks for the video and insight!

Hey there Nate & Justin, I just wanted to let you guys know that I haven't bought the first Baylen or Shin Haiti figures yet from two months ago, but I'm thinking of getting Baylen with his robe when it comes out in certain stores. And as for Shin, I will get her sometime when I can, but how could I make her legs a bit shorter like from the Ashoka Show......Do I need to purchase another Reva 6"inch Black Series Figure & change her legs or what guys? Please help me out by letting me know. Thanks. And as for the new figures of "The Acolytes" Series, I'll also wait to get them until I also watch the show myself to see on how good or bad it will be. If you didn't have Baylan before and wanted the character, I see no problem with going for the Walmart one. If you wanted to do the thigh swaps for Baylan and Shin, we have a RUclips Short on the channel that explains how to do it. Appreciate ya! -Justin
Exactly. "Definitive figures". That's why I passed on the first Baylen and will pass on the robed version also. With the height still being off, it's just NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
As a reformed completist who also collects lines like Hot toys, I'm not settling for incomplete figures anymore. They need to do better period.

Black Series shill here. I preordered all the Acolyte figs. If I don’t like the show, I can cancel my preorders since the figs don’t come out until after the show premiers. I am getting that Holocomm Maul, but that’s because I enjoy the Holocomm figs. The Gideon helmet is a pass. Skipped on that 3-pack, but I will be getting that Baylan. It’s an exclusive, and I’d rather that figure be exclusive than a character I don’t have be. Great episode, and I love when you guys are honest! 👊🏻 -Tommy

With the Baylan cashgrab, I can totally see the upcoming "White" Ahsoka being a regular simple release without the robe and them re-releasing her a couple months later as an exclusive with her robe (I really hope that's not the case and the SW team sees all tha backlash with baylan and releases Ahsoka with her cloak from the beginning)

I think Acolyte figures looked neat and it can just be random Jedi in my collection. So i preordered them all. They release in fall so if i dont like the show i just cancel them.

I skipped Balan after the first wave of reviews for Marrok started getting posted cause i knew in my heart Hasbro was gonna botch the paint on Balan and Shin like they did for Marrok. Needless to say i was glad i did that after Balan and Shin's numerous other issues, so seeing Hasbro rerelease that same horrible figure with all its issues still not addressed but this time it also has a starchy cloth cape, just made me angry. What is the point of doing these live "fan" streams if we know outside of the sewer that is the live chat the SW team seemingly pay no attention to the actual fan base asking for actual issues to be addressed, obviously they shouldnt listen to everything the fan base says but there is real fixable issues with the line that the team just will not address with this new Balan just being another spur in the sock.

Im not even trying to be negative, but the one reason Im looking forward to these Acolyte figs is purely to use the bodies and sabers for other customs 😂 Gonna give the show a fair shot but to say im worried would be an understatement. I hope to be blown away and love the characters, but for now, I have no desire for them

There are so many customisers doing custom soft goods (including me), its cheaper to buy the robe itself, it would be higher quality fir a smaller price.

I think this was the first time I didn't pre-order anything. Not. One. Thing. I have no attachment to the Acolyte characters - I don't even know if I'm going to like the show or not. Don't need the Masters of Evil set. That's just an odd reveal with odd choices... The helmet looked silly. And the guy that put it on looked ridiculous wearing it. Why show a prototype for a reveal??? That's just dumb. And Baylan - that is an absolute slap in the face. Unreal... The pipelines did sound really good though. I was happy to see those. How many pipelined figures/packs do we have now - almost 15 total? I'll just wait... Excellent video, fellas!

Even though these are mainline figure reveals, we aren’t expecting them roughly till the back of the year. At this rate we will only be getting exclusives which is crazy, considering we normally get a wave in March/April then a wave in July/August but we’ve heard nothing which is surprising to say the least. I’m super excited for the pipelines and what we are meant to be getting but unfortunately the over saturation on new media for these streams is becoming more apparent. Wish there was more balance and could’ve sprinkled in the new palps or something og trilogy like Hammerhead
Well the Acolyte show was supposed to be out in December, so I can almost guarantee this is a result of the strikes. I'm fine with the exclusives because it's mostly fan channel prequel stuff and it's cake to get. -Justin

Farg the f%%king fargler!!! That's not even English! 😮 😅 I've gone Black series bloody mad Gentle-manns. I've spent hours and hours and hours and hours completely re-doing my sw room, to shoehorn in an 8 foot square baseboard to finally sort out a home for my Endor Bunker diorama.... Good bloody grief. Its only been sitting in my kitchen doing shit-all for at least 5 months! Spent a couple of hours last night doing a first fix and it looks brilliant already! The whole thing is covered in Forest Moon goodness and what actually struck me was I've got room on it for 2 Hasgrab At-St's!!! Jurassic F%%king Park!!! I almost shit myself with happiness! What a result! Every other part/shelf/area/ceiling of the room has also drastically changed as well, so the whole thing is just so much better. My Imperial section is Phat now, and everything flows really nicely. An oddity I noticed as well, as I moved hundreds of figures is I have a fair few dudes and dudettes with red laser swords, so they now have a dedicated area. Massively chuffed with this endeavour.
Another reason to re-do everything was to accommodate new shit! Order 69 (Dude!! 😅) 4 pac arrived safely and that really is special. Absolutely love it!! Carbonised second sister came and it's like a little piece of art! Well happy. Today I got the hondo/ray/chickens/chewie Galaxy pack and tbh, it's actually beautiful. So impressed with the presentation. Arrived absolutely mint and I now have every Chewie they've ever done!!! 😊 I rule!!!! Grabbed 3 more Dark X Orrificers from Game, earlier for £5 each, a third original Omeeeeggggaaaa, £5, and my 9th!!! 😮😮😅😅 Cassa Aldani figure, also £5. I wonder if I hold the world record for most Cassa Aldanis? They had a ML Red skull dude as well for £8, which immediately struck me as a good addition to the new dudes with red laser-swords shelf. I've christened him "Darth Skull-Fhuk" 😅😅😅
So much good shit recently. Tomorrow will hopefully bring "fresh heaven" as well.

My 9 month pre-order for the 7 inch scaled Neca Alien Queen re-release should finally arrive!!!!! Cannot wait for that BITCH!!! SO BLOODY EXCITED for this. Coincided with the teaser trailer for "Alien Robombonus" which looked fantastic!! I really wasn't hopeful about the film due to the connection with dis-mal-ney, but I'm hoping that the law of averages applies, meaning they simply cannot f%%k up every single thing they release? My fingers are crossed!!

Got the purple clone in hand, as I've said before, and now waiting for b1/c3, 3x new Arse-soaker clone packs and I even found and p.o'd the Fallen Order Spamazon "pac a trois" Never p.o'd anything from Mr Bezos before... Final cherry on the cake was scoring the Doe Pameron and Fosst Order stormie 2 pac for the third time off ebay with a winning bid of £4.20!! 😅😅😅 Came to £7.15 shipped!! Ridiculous. Can't get excited for the new figures at all. I'll buy Ms Moss out of principle (absolutely fancied the shit out of Trinity!! ❤❤) and the little pada-wig-wam jedi looks good, so I'll deffo get her. As I did, I started to unconsciously narrate a tour to myself!! I think I got to half an hour, and I'd told myself about less than a third of it!! Bloody madness!! I haven't been on IG since November, which isn't a deliberate thing. Daughter came to live with me, I stopped messing about with self employment. Took on a motor garage refurb with the owner, then that disc in my spine collapsed in December. Didn't get the results until a month? ago, and IG just slipped away in that time. It's basically been easier not to go back on it....
Gonna get all the Acolyte figures because I just love having new characters in the line (especially Jedi) and I love all the THR books, but I’m not pre-ordering any of them. Maybe Maul if it goes on clearance - that’s the only reason I got Bo-Katan. I agree the Gideon helmet looks off. I collect the helmets, but it’d take a steep discount for me to get this one. Major pass on the Villains. 🖕🏻 to Baylan. ALL the pipelines are Day 1 pre-orders, however. The Andor stan in me is ecstatic for the Dedra 🥲

The single mando ahsoka is pretty much the same as the single flagship ahsoka show ahsoka? I got the mando season 2 ahsoka and it looks identical to me, the baylon skoll one I feel if they discontinued the first release, it’s better to do the cloak one but ya the custom leg fix and a custom cloak is just as 👍

The Acolyte not having any “Troopers” per say, is going to hurt sales. Pilots also. Hasbro already have a hot potato on their hands with the show being from a new time period from people who are not so popular. This could make or break Hasbro IMO,who are apparently having trouble paying 20% royalties on top of the licence fee, but I’m not seeing anything that tickles my fancy. The figures are nice looking. They are really wanting the Acolyte line to succeed and it may not.

I hate when this happens. I didn't get Baylan the first time so I have to wallet-vote against our best interest. I don't see them ever fixing the height or the paint so I think this is the one for me.
As for The Acolyte, Mae actually looks cool enough on her own to pique my interest. It's good to see Hasbro upheld their end by making the figures good, now I just need to like the show. Great vid as always.

Im personally very surprised that people aren't upset with the box changes. Don't get me wrong they look great i love them its personally better than the current box. And i am a box opener so it doesn't matter to me but I thought for sure in box collectors would have been annoyed. When they put the night owl next to all the other figures in the mandolorian line the boxes aren't going to match and i thought that was something in box collectors cared about?
There are definitely some in-box collectors getting annoyed. I think it's just that Black Series in-box collectors are a minority. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority are openers. -Justin
