Having worked for a bank, Fry's bank account would not have that much money in it. After about six months or so of absolutely no bank activity, the bank would start thinking about shutting it down, and it would be shut down in a couple of years.
Even if it stayed open, most accounts don't gain interest without you having a decent amount in it (and these days we're talking about one cent every month in interest). So Fry's bank account would've probably still been 4 dollars if it was still open.
