crank that baby up! I just sent a deposit for a 1989 750il V12 in Los Angeles. 160k, looks well maintained. I'll be driving it to New York, I hope it's reliable! long drive thru desolate territory...
V12 BRO I like simple stuff pre 1996-OBDII, but this stuff is getting so cheap. I'll be flying to California, driving this V12 to El Paso Texas, and then towing a Corvair from El Paso to New York, I hope things go well. if the V12 craps out, which they allegedly have so so so many problems, I can unhook the Corvair, it runs and drives, so I can use it like a dinghy, just in case
joe johnson my engine the M73, is basically 2 M20 Straight 6s welded together at the crank instead of a V6 but I can see where it kinda sounds like that.
Sounds good, but tinny; I guess that's just how straight-piping goes. Is there a way to preserve that exciting sound whilst softening out that high-pitched rattling?
The V12s dont have quite as many mechanical issues but the electronics can be wonky. Other than that and transmissions (if you know about E38s you know it's common to have trans/torque converter issues) the only other common issue is the intake manifold gaskets going bad.
Yeah you have to do a super nice exhaust on the M73 to make it sound good. I just picked up an 850i and will be doing some exhaust work to it, likely posting on RUclips when done.
Well, the Mclaren f1's engine is a close cousin to this engine. So it's no wonder that it sounds so great.
Sounds like 2 M50’s fighting to the death.
You're not wrong
M73 is pretty much 2 M20s

V12 And Reliability Don’t Exactly Line Up But Gotta Love It.
@@joellesworld8025 thats Not True :) V12 ins reliable
The addition of resonators in the middle (filter out the very high notes), would make it perfect
BMW V12 😢
With the straight pipe, it ends up sounding like an inline 6, but I'm not complaining ;)
I'll have to admit it didnt sound great lmao. Was all noise 😂
@@V12BRO nah bro, it sounded pretty sexy to me. Maybe that's because I'm a JDM Fanboy.
@@ThatGuyErazo well it's basically 2 inline 6s on one crank 😃
@@V12BRO The problem is the low revs, if this engine revved to 8k instead of 6k it would sound like a supercar.

This motor does sound pretty good straight piped though, how much did you get it for?

waiting for the video m8
Rockn Rolla I haven't made a new exhaust yet, will be closer to the end of the year when that happens
Is it still single pipe or duel
I bought one, the exhaust carbon was sold, I want advice, what should I put in it?
it sounds like the s series i6 engines from m3s and m5s
Reminds me of an old jag or Aston Martin

I'm looking for a good V12 for my Ferrari 330 P4 kit car without way too much horsepower, any suggestions?

Since I didn't Dyno before or after idk lol, didn't buy it to be a race car. Doesn't seem slower so I'd say none.
Marcin Olczak why should he lose hp doing that
The guy commenting probably believes the myth that engines really like back pressure, lol.
Looking at this and your other comment, you seem to think bmw engineered everything PERFECTLY for EVERY need. Which is false
Glansce why wouldn’t it though more pressure is more compression makes sense for take off

Not the V12s
Nope and it's extremely hard to convert them cause you need a 850CSi trans. I bet someone has made a T56 adapter tho

Not really relying on a myth. Every car system is set up to manufacture specifications. Modifying I would assume would lessen the mpg
Marcin Olczak I actually get better mpgs now lol
Marcin Olczak but it is still garbage at like 13 city (maybe) to around 22 highway if I just cruise, had I think 24 once
Free flowing exhausts usually improve mpgs
