Hi Otto! First off really love your reviews and content you do a great job at explaining and giving tips. I have OM6 but noticed today on another test run that the active tracking w/ using gesture control in an outdoor setting is not working. I am using the back facing camera [iPhone 11Pro Max]. When I got home it worked perfectly any idea or heard anything about this? Thanks in advance. :)
I recently upgraded to the OM-6 to use with my iPhone 14 pro max and found your video tutorial very useful, especially because you went into easy to follow details. Thanks for your Video Tutorial!
Thank you! This was a great video! Very clear instruction. My gimbal is charging but I can't wait to start filming and trying out the modes that you have outlines.
Wow I absolutely love how u show step by step how to use these things and u speak clearly and at a pace I can understand stand not like all the others who talk so fast and don't show u step by step how each gimbal works and I'm so grateful to you and the way you did u video because I was able to make it work thanks to you!!❤ ohand u have a new subscriber now😊😊😊😊
gimbals will follow your movements. If you set it to "all lock" then all axis will be locked but the phone will not move in any direction, not even if you try to move your wrist to pan around for example
Great tutorial! Will the follow feature on this device work alongside the newer iPhones “cinematic” mode that utilize a shallow depth of field or blur effect?
The best description of the OM-6 I have seen so far. Your explanations are short and clear, the video itself looks great, a clean and good looking interface. You've done an excellent job with it.
I have a message that comes up that says I cannot use glamour settings with HDR10 recording. I have never changed my settings so I do not know why I am now in HDR10 or how to change it please help me
I don’t see the auto button on video right to be able to change to manual , as well as the camera setting such as iso, shutter in the footer not showing
Sorry for the late reply, that is an interesting question. I tend to prefer to use the native camera app when possible and I only use the Mimo app if needed.
Hi Otto, on Osmo mobile 3 selfie was showing me as in normal video, but on 6 when i do selfie it shows like a mirror. you have any idea how to correct that?
most smartphone gimbals have this issue, they are meant to be used with Android and iPhones but Android do have some limitations that were not placed on purpose by these companies
Typical product website. Not everything is on it in a logical format. To download the dji mino app I had to go to a separate website. Anyway great review.
Hi, I am having issues using this gimbal. I have tried all the settings but when I am stationary and moving the camera around from left to right and vice versa, so panning around a room for example, the video comes out choppy. I have tried tilt lock, FPV, follow me, even extended the gimbal a bit from the base, just incase it was getting stuck, but still no good. I hope someone can help before I return it. Thanks
@@OttoJulian_ Hi, thanks for the quick response. I have a Huawei P20 Pro, so I think that is the issue. I tried it with my sons iPhone and my other son's Samsung S21 and it's smooth as anything. Guess I need a new phone 🤣. I'm tempted to get an iPhone as I have an Insta 360 X2 camera too, and they work better with iPhones.
Holy cow! I never realized a GIMBAL has a completely different system for the camera. I thought it was just a tripod with a stabilizer. I have a 15PROMAX, it will look the same on my end right?
look the same if you use their app? It should be the same but using their app will not let you access some features of the regular camera that are inside the camera app
I use Samsung Galaxy phones. I currently have the 22s Ultra. I have owned and used the Mobile 3 for years with my Samsung phones. As the OM series has advanced, it seems that DJI has left the Android market behind, especially the Samsung phones. I appreciate your review of the OM6...it just shows me why I won't be buying one for my smartphone. I'll just continue using my OM3 until DJI removes their heads from their butts.
I thought for the longest time that the limitations were set by DJI, until I found out that this problems were around with every single manufacturer. After doing some research, it seems that the issue is more related to Android and Android phones manufacturers. Samsung has made public a few times that they don't want to fully open their camera features to third party applications, and even Filmic Pro has made comments about these situations in the past
Exactly the video I was looking for. You did an amazing job showing us all how to use and maximize this gimbal and all its functions. You got a subscriber out of me.
Great tutorial. Thanks! Your explanations were really straight-forward and simple. I have a new channel and I am hoping that this will help me make amazing videos! Cheers!
Thank you very much for explaining everything. Your videos are very concise, easy to understand, and cover everything one needs to know. Very professional.
Hi OJ - is OM6 works with Android Samsung S23 Ultra- As I've watch your reviews some functions not applied to Android but works fine at all to Android Phone is that correct??? thanks good work though
I recently bought a Samsung s23 ultra... watching this video now made me reconsider my desire to buy this gimbal...would it still be good for use for Samsung s23 ultra or is there a different gimbal you can suggest for me? Any advice would be great 👍
I replied to your other message and I would still consider this gimbal. The other one that I like is the Hohem M6, there is a review on my channel, although, it is not as portable as the OM6 and it will have similar limitations
@@OttoJulian_ thank you very much for reply to all msgs and for all the info. I understand after watching all your videos that almost all gimbals have the same limitation when it comes to Android devices. You sir earned yourself a new subscriber 💕 .
So many good things about the OM6. So lightweight, so easy to set up, completely synced with Filmic Pro but ...... ultimately, its a disaster of a gimbal because of the poor versatilty of movement. The tilt angle range is the worse I've ever experienced and renders it as nothing more than a glorified selfie-stick. It does depend what you use it for but if you want a good range of cradle movement from the gimbal then do not buy the OM6 as it will do your head in very quickly. Ended up trading mine in for a Zhiyun Smooth 5 which flexes a mighty Pro Max in all directions with ease even if it lacks some of the OM6 ease of set up.
Agreed, these smaller phone gimbals that have this type of structure/design have that problem. Thanks for the feedback! Smooth 5 is a good gimbal, I also like the Hohem M6 for that matter since it has a tracking module
Thanks this tutorial, I just got mine delivered and the manual is not helping at all so I end up looking for a video tutorial fortunately I found your video ❤
Fantastic quick and comprehensive video on the DJI OSMO gimbal. I took notes and now have something to refer to for each picture or video I take and what environment I take them in. Outstanding tutorial Otto Julian.
Speaking way too fast. Not enough time to even try what he’s saying. RUclipsrs do it on purpose so you’re forced to rewatch the video multiple times. I’m not playing such games. Thumb down!
LOL I've been accused of speaking too slow and people have advised others to play at 1.5x speed. You are the first one ever to say I went too fast. This is my normal talking speed, it's not a trick to re-watch the video, worst case you can set the speed to slow, to half the speed or even 0.25x.... no excuses for a thumb down. 337.000 views and no such complains.
I just bought mine… out of 10 videos I’ve watched by far love yours the most. Especially actually getting navigating the app!!!!!! Thanks Otto!!! Subbed😊
it just depends on the phone, but majority of Android phones can't. The ones that seem to be doing the trick are Pixel ones, and some Samsung models, although sometimes the footage is terrible. Lots to talk about the subject.
yeah you are right. not sure which one you watched: Review: ruclips.net/video/AmnTs_saKyQ/видео.html How to setup and use: ruclips.net/video/_VADBb6YIhM/видео.html Movements: ruclips.net/video/-ytw2T7Gi_Q/видео.html Compared to the Hohem MT2: ruclips.net/video/IitGxNdXOYc/видео.html
Hey I have a question. I just purchased this. do I have to record everything within the app? Like these features don’t work through my regular camera app on. iPhone
Any one with an OM6 where you unfold and it doesn't turn on and wait in standby mode? It doesn't show anything but my fully charged battery light on the display. In the app, it isn't detecting the OM6. Any help would be awesome.
Thanks for this guide! I am considering this gimbal with a future S24ultra so seeing that Android is feature limited is good to take into consideration. Do you think Android support will be better in the future?
either phone manufacturers using Android will have to open fully their camera to third party apps, or DJI will have to figure something out, but the first option is probably the only viable one
Grab the upper arm with one hand and pull the clip away. Try pulling the clip on an angle starting on one of the sides (instead of pulling both ends at the same time )
Thank you Otto👍 just got the smaller 14 Pro but my wife of course has to have the best😂 she got the 14 pro Max🤣 last time i used a phone gimbal was on my iPhone 7 and a smooth4..but because of the great camera’s of the 14 pro i’m gonna try it out..👍
I get this gimbal yesterday, at first i get error msg for motor, i ddint place my galaxy s24 ultra in the middle, and now is fine, however, im using samsung camera, because of 40 60 fps mode and also HDR mode, because DJI app has only 30 fps which is really sad :(
I love this Gimbal version; it's so compact, simple, and fun to explore with. I went of your review a while back (DJI Osmo Mobile 6 vs Zhiyun SMOOTH 5: Review and Features | DJI OM6) and for me, I made the right choice off of your feedback. Thank You! Love your quick to the point views, no rant.
Hi. This is beyond their control. It’s an Android thing, not DJIs fault. So the answer is no, it still doesn’t work. Some people have reported that the Google Pixel works but footage doesn’t look good.
thanks bro do u know if I can switch between video and photo with a hand sign ? for example u are 2-4 meter away and dont want to go again to the camera to switch it. thanks
You need the DJI Mimo app at least once to activate the product. After that you no longer need to use it if you don't want to. Functions can be limited without it though. I haven't used Filmic Pro in a while, so I'm not sure which features will still work
Thank you Otto for sharing your tutorial. I have just purchased my DJI Osmo 6 a couple days ago and this certainly shows me how to use it as a first time user. My almost 9 yrs old grand-daughter thinks it’s pretty cool😊.
If someone is willing to do that, it won’t matter if you are using another gimbal. Either the gimbal will slide off your hand or the phone will not stay in the clamp if you hold the gimbal strong enough
how can I use my iphone camera default app for filming? i want to use the cinematic mode with my iPhone 14 pro max. the gimbal app does not have the cinematic mode. i look forward hearing from you my friend.
Use the regular camera app just like you would do and the gimbal at the same time. You will not get lost the features that they have on their app but you will be acordé to record using cinematic mode
Hallo. Im very love your vidio. Thanks for making this vidio for us. Btw, i have question. I really need gimbal for my activities. I need take vidio with rear main camera, Potrait mode, in wide lens. Is dji arm gimbal seen in frame while we take vidio with that above? Thanks you. I would be very happy if you answered my question

I cant stop my gimbal from loosely moving around. I need it to stay still while i move. Trying to figure out how. It has a mond of its own

No, but that’s a good idea
I have a spyder trike,my wife as a passenger in back seat holding the osmo 6, will the magnet hold the phone saying 30 mph wind?

Glad it helped! Yeah I try to make these videos short, I hate watching 60 minutes tutorials myself lol
can you connect with Filmic pro App & control the gimbal without downloading DJI app?
You need the DJI Mimo app at least once to activate the product. After that you no longer need to use it if you don't want to. Functions can be limited without it though. I haven't used Filmic Pro in a while, so I'm not sure which features will still work
Thank you Otto for sharing your tutorial. I have just purchased my DJI Osmo 6 a couple days ago and this certainly shows me how to use it as a first time user.
My almost 9 yrs old grand-daughter thinks it’s pretty cool😊.
Nice to hear! I hope you enjoy your new gimbal and please take care you 2
Very slow and clear explaination. I juts got this and was so confused until i saw your video. It helped so much for a first timer. Thanks again!!!
You're very welcome! enjoy your new gimbal!
How do you prevent theft with this device? Seems like it is so easy for someone to grab your phone off of the end of it while you are using it.
If someone is willing to do that, it won’t matter if you are using another gimbal. Either the gimbal will slide off your hand or the phone will not stay in the clamp if you hold the gimbal strong enough
Thank you for a great tutorial. It was very helpful and much appreciated!
You're very welcome!
how can I use my iphone camera default app for filming? i want to use the cinematic mode with my iPhone 14 pro max. the gimbal app does not have the cinematic mode. i look forward hearing from you my friend.
Use the regular camera app just like you would do and the gimbal at the same time. You will not get lost the features that they have on their app but you will be acordé to record using cinematic mode
@@OttoJulian_ thanks for the quick response. I will do that then. By the way! I subbed to your channel. Keep up the great for my friend 🙂👍
Heeeey thank you so much !!!
Thank you
You are perfectly explain that Gimbal
Glad you think so!

In my experience I can say that most phones will not have a problem
