I have nothing against 3D, but it would feel refreshing if they started making 2D animated films again.
same
I agree!
I completely agree
I AGREE! They look BETTER in paper drawn animation than CGI animation.
Yeah. I really just want more variety
Besides 2d seems timeless. When comparing a 20 year old 3d film to a 40 year old 2d one or even a 50+yr old one, is kinda sad.
2D style of Frozen characters is sooo goood omg, now the outcome looks childish. I mean proportions and this stuff
i WISH for 2d to come back
Always loved seeing the pencil tests disney does. Characters seem to have a lot more personality and more varied character designs. I don't dislike the CG designs though
Bring back 2d Master pieces! Please!
magnifico isn't given justice
fortunately, I have a passion project for Disney with that medium and Alan Menken IS THE HEART, SOUL, AND BACKBONE of that project that I am preparing on, essentially based on a musical japanese Disney attraction
That sounds lovely :)
@theberrby6283 technically I just finished my courses on Think Tank training center, so for now i am personally and creatively preparing myself, especially with the USA documents for work visa, and waiting further notices in terms of being in contact with other mentors, especially one that works at the studio, even though he is quite busy at this point, though hopefully this wokisms scenarios or whatever polarizing stuff, including the Disney dont affect my goal by moving and staying for now from canada to usa for nothing after trying to apply myself with tryout at Disney animation vancouver
The reason they don’t do 2D animation apart from animation tests is because they have completely gutted their 2D animation department. No one has the drawing skills to actually animate. Current animators are more like glorified puppeteers.
I think I would have been more inspired to buy the Blu-ray if it included the 2D version if the whole movie was done in that style.
They look more nice as 2D animated characters (Animated on Paper) than 3D animated characters (CGI). #MakeTraditionalAnimationReturn! The fact that almost everything is made in CGI nowadays, animation & visual effects, is 1 of the reasons why i hate the modern movie industry. No offence & dont take me wrong, i still want CGI movies, ESPECIALLY from Pixar, but it gets excessive with CGI, ESPECIALLY since the 2010s.
100% agree 3d looks like cheap soulless garbage, 2d looks more pleasing visually and can push the boundaries a lot more with 2d
Pixar were the ones who influenced our whole industry into this direction in the first place, and while John Lasseter had every opportunity to turn things around for 2D animation at the Walt Disney Animation Studio he ultimately just let them be turned even further away from it.
And don't just say that it was because they felt the 3D movies like Tangled were doing better, because he was the one allowing those productions to still go on at the studio.
Why are these videos vertical? Is it two shorts combined? Because it's longer than 1 minute so it's not a short, why vertical?
The way we feel about 3D versus 2D is how I feel about horizontal versus vertical. It's always "WHY??! Why vertical?!"
exactly
He wants better ad revenue so is just putting his shorts as regular videos
3d films are nice and all, however 2d never gets old. I love the lines and how they look alive and well put together. The way I saw Anna in 2d form looks like she has personality than she was in cgi. Why can’t Disney just hand drawn animation? I’m pretty sure audience would love and enjoy those films; I know I would.
By the gods animation is all to one! To the animation gods
Holy cow, Magnifico looks hotter here than the actual film. 🥵
This is like that twilight zone episode where normal people choose between personalities they adopt when they turn 18. Just Ana there choosing to be Type 4.
Tbh, they should make 3D AND 2D movies
This 2d animation looks like original Disney movies it's actually better than the 3d animation
God the 2D tests look unbelievable. i wish disney would just go back to it already the 3D looks so bland in comparison
The Frozen pencil test is over-animated, tbh.
The pencil tests look better to me lol, why can't they just do a 2D film?!
fauci ouchie
I want to see more of Magnífico 2D 🫠
Look at that Anna test 🥹…. God whyyy why cg 🫠
