i got back into sewing bc of you!! i found a machine on facebook marketplace and thrifted thread and fabric i’m so excited
no way!! :) I love hunting for fabric at the thrift store & every once in a while I find a good curtain/bedsheet ☺️ have fun!
I have made a couple of bodice blocks and so they are fitted to your body, they will need a zipper or buttons! With your top, that you added the zipper too, you problem measured it correctly :)
oh perfect! thanks for letting me know :)
that watercolor fabric is SOOO pretty omg and the dress came out so cute!!
I can't believe I got it from the thrift store for like $4!! thank you
On the darts:
You pressed them towards the Center Back CB or Center Front CF depending on where they are. You can also cut down the middle and pressed them flat. If they are horizontal darts then pressed them down. Also when cutting fabric try to cut it on lengthwise grain unless the pattern says otherwise. If you cut your fabric on the bias, it can stretch when sewing and pucker and do weird things. If you do choose to cut on bias make sure all the pieces that sew together are cut on the bias too.
Also backstitch but not all the way to the edge so you avoid puckers. For example stitch 4 and backstitch 3 or 2.
Hope that helps. Great work, keep it up and let me know if you want some recommendations on books to learn more
wow thank you so much for all the good info! I feel like there's so many small things that you learn along the way so I appreciate your comment so much! :)
i was so scared of learning how to sew but you make it seem so fun and not scary at all thank you
start small and don't be afraid to make mistakes!! you got this! :)
you’re!! amazing!!!! you deserve a gazillion followers i love your work and videos so much!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
I wanted to learn how to sew and when I tried my sewing machine broke 💀💀 haven’t tried since but after this vid I’m getting a new sewing machine
NO WAY the same exact thing happened to me 😅 I bought my machine off facebook marketplace and it broke within 30 min of using it 😭 then I had to wait like a month to get it fixed 💔 there has to be some kind of curse for new sewers hahaha goodluck on your second attempt!! thank u for watching ☺️
I found you recently and I’m really enjoying your videos, they’re very inspiring :)
thank you so much for watching!!
omg I would love a tutorial for the blue dress!
The second dress is beautiful! I would love a tutorial ❤
When I started to sew a little over 3 years ago I started exactly like you - I just tried things out. I learned to use patterns about a year ago haha. My fav designers who‘s patterns I made to learn and to get amazing garments are definitely KianaBonollo and also transformationsbytracy. Their patterns cost but they are amazing and you can just print them at home and they both have tutorials on YT 🥰
amazing!! I feel like its good to try things out yourself so you understand the basics and then use patterns to focus on construction techniques!! so I'm glad that you learned that way as well & thanks for the tips!! I'll have to check out some of their patterns!!! :) I think I eventually want to learn how to make patterns but that is in the future!! Thanks for watching
what do you do for work? ❤️
Why are you speaking like that?
