I decided to “join and face the gun” while my friends ended in jail or worse. Then my military friends deployed and too many didn’t come home. This hits me so hard. Thank you. I feel seen.
DUI's replaced "I'll stay the night". Hit me so hard in the gut it broke my sad bone.
Glad it connected, man. It was a trip watching us dissolve the longer we lived there.
It's a perfect song to end this year knowing you'll keep going forward doing what you want to do.

Man, this is just pure lyrical gold... My playlists are now overflowing w/Kai ever since I came across him by chance in the algorithm , maybe 6 months ago? (...like 2 or 3 months after diving head first down the Ren rabbit hole.) It took 1 song of Kai's to hook me and then a few listens to his various songs but now every time I hear Kai sing I CAN'T get a group of lyrics from Ren's song Power out of my mind. "Note for note, I go for broke on every song I wrote and every single song I write brings freedom to my weary mind - a healing that you only find inside an intricate design (of kicks and snares and fat base lines - I flip the script until I find my POWER...") As much as this is true for Ren I feel it down in my very soul on every Kai track. And Wow, if this song doesn't cry out that truth w/every word! ..makes perfect sense to me that Ren is also a big fan... :) The world NEEDS a collab!
