You've brought back memories as this was the first camera I "acquired" - nicked it from my older brother. Amongst other outings, I used it on my first holiday abroad with my soon -to-be wife (1967). It was later used to record some of our wedding photos. Regrettably, I gave it away when I got the fist SLR I could afford; a Russian Zenit B. I had good service out of the Zenit but always missed the old Paxette. I'm now shooting with a Fujifilm X100S, which has some of the features and feel of the Braun, so am a happy man again. great video i found my fathers Braun nuremberg 40 mm IA its in great nick trying I wouldn't have been able to figure out how to run a film though it without this video thanks
I will get a Paxette (in fact more than one model, just won them on eBay) so I can not talk for this specific model, but not all cameras made on the model of the sliding in down part are without lightseals. E.g. the Voigtländer Vitessa and Vitessa T. They have a yarn as light seal all around where the two halves of the camera met.

gret video, very well explained. I just purchased a Braun Super Paxette 3 automatic. I cannot advance film lever, its stuck, also the leaf shutters are closed shut. This began when i removed the lens to try it out. Any suggestion . Thank you.
Cool video man. I just picked up a couple of these in a bulk lot of used cameras, and didn't have a clue how to use them... so this is really helpful! Great pictures at the end too, I can't wait to load it up and get out shooting.
I bought a 135 Steinheil lens thinking I could use it on my Leica. Discovered that it fit a Paxette. Rather than selling the lens I just bought a Paxette Super because to looked like a lot of (old school) fun to use. Beautiful camera. After a CLA it's off to the races...
Hi! Thanks for the video. I got one myself, it worked and now it's stucked. I don't think it's not functional but it's just a rewind thing that you have to do. Do you have some knoledge on how can I get it back on track? Thanks!
After a problem focusing these lenses on my digital Fuji X with a M39 adapter I found out they need to be fitted on a lens extension tube of around 15mm to work. I think this is because the Paxette camera had a protruding mount for the lens. Anyway I've ordered a 15mm tube on recommendation - we'll see how it goes.
Thanks for the info. You can focus a Super Paxette, but can you focus a regular Paxette? I have one but i don't see how to focus with it. Or is the Paxette simply an aim and shoot camera?

Nice review. It is not a real rangefinder camera, I think. It has only a rangefinder viewer which is not connected to the lens. Because after focusing you have to take the settings to the lens. And a real rangefinder doesn't. For example the Leica II etc, which has the rangefinder viewer connecting to the lens. I know they called him a rangefinder camera and there are a lot those cameras which have the same systems.
You put fresh roll on the left, drag the leader to the right and attach it to the take up spool. You then close the flap and reinstall the back. From this point you can just advance to #1 and go from there.
hello, they gave me a paxette and the shutter was locked, I also wanted to try to repair it and unscrewed the lever where the roll turns and I jump a kind of metal elastic, I really do not understand anything, I need help :(

My dad bought this exact camera when he was stationed in Germany and then left it for me when he passed. Mine also has a broken self-timer.

I also have one. It´s on shelf retirement now. The pictures were really good, nice colours and very sharp. Unfortunately they are very susceptible.
Is there a reason mine doesn’t take photos? It runs through the film but they are blank?

Hi Brown Super Paxette is indeed a rangefinder camera with rangefinder coupled with the lens.
