This guy is absolutely incredible. I had a preorder come in in the middle of summer, so I've had him for a little bit. I find getting the front of the motorcycle out to be a bit dificult, since it seems to get stuck, but other than that he's a 10/10 from me Idk if I'd say he's the best figure for me, though. Target dropped the ball on my pre-order (canceling it after all the times I told them back-ordering was fine) and I was planning on driving over to a couple cities out west of me to look, but I stopped in at my home Wal-Mart and they had one and a Sweep. I picked up both and they were at least 5 off each. I saw one more that day at a different Wal-Mart and one of his nip cannons had fallen off into the bubble that protects them. I have never seen any other since. Just today I found a Gnaw at a Target out east for the first time. I seem to be getting to all the stores after they sell out the hot items, but that Target has been lucky for me. I found a BW Megatron there when that was hot and got it for a nice sale with some Target Circle coupons, and just two weeks ago I found Waspinator and Shadow Panther there. I saw Slug and Daniel at a couple Wal-Marts I checked today, but my Target pre-order is actually coming through for me so I'm fine waiting. The soft rubber parts make perfect sense. You have to remember these are still children's toys. They're not just made for us 30 something collectors. There are safety concerns with the spikes. Rubber spikes are much safer than harder plastic. There's also durability. Softer materials are actually more durable because they can bend. The small stuff like the handles would easily break if they're made from a hard plastic. Hard plastic for small parts just means it's more brittle. They may not feel as good to mess with, but they safer and more durable. So there's actually a lot more thought put into these. I'm buying their Victory Saber and I hope to God the antenna guns on his head are made with rubber. I can imagine snapping them by accident if they're made from a hard plastic.

This figure is fucking AMAZING, I had been iffy on the line after getting kup, but wreck-gar shot me back up to loving it, he does so much right, and is one of only a few figures I got a legitimate “wow” factor from
The only exception of parts forming, aside from ultra Magnus (depending on the cannon) and PM Optimus (if you ignore Ginrai) since both of those are optional modes.
The issue with the head is that there was clearly a mis-mold with the lower jaw where the goatee goes in. From the boxart, the angle shows that the slant they put into the chin of the lower jaw is meant to face the left so that it fits with the direction of how the goatee is placed. But on the figure, the slant faces the right, causing the goatee not to go in all the way while leaving a small hole upon the goatee. It’s not that bad of an issue, but it is a reoccurring thing with SS where they forget a detail on a figure. SS Scavenger doesn’t have his driver’s cockpit windshield painted on him, and the first SS Dropkick is missing his Decepticon logo.
I don't know how accurate the boxes are, I mean if you look at the Sharkticon it's a very different face, and the Kup's, and Blurr's boxes as well. I don't know if they forgot the Decpticon Logo on Dropkick I think they just didn't want to put it on because they were too proud of how real it looked.
I've got mine sitting in my BBTS Pile of Loot just staring at me...waiting to shipped. 20 days left to wait on Flame Toys' Rodimus model kit to release, but I can't WAIT to get this guy. Just hear nothing but great things about him. Fantastic review as always @PerspectiveEnd. 👍
Thank you very much, and yeah this thing is amazing, hope your Rodimus Model kit is great. I'm guessing it's the one based on the IDW Lost Light Rodimus?
@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah, that's the one! At first I didn't much care for that design but the comic was such a fun run that I fell in love with the look and the character. Have you read it yourself? Highly recommended if no.
I'm so glad to hear that. It's tons of fun, but as a kid, man did it make me Cry so much. Like I had no idea that I was about to watch all my favorite characters die.
Got this guy as an early Christmas gift! So stoked. Haven’t seen _any_ voyagers in stock for _months._ only crappy buzz worthy 2 packs. Wish mine wasn’t chock full of paint problems (and didn’t have a way too tight right arm) but otherwise… it’s AMAZING. Did you notice that they even included hidden sculpting details _inside_ the armpit? Because they did!
I agree. I mean... I can't say anything else about this thing, he is accurate, the paint aps is fantastic, and the partsforming isn't bothersome. He is a trully amazing figure and *IS* a micro masterpiece. Anyway, great review.
Wreck Gar Yankovic (Reference to Animated Wreck gar) is my favorite Autobot ever and just imagine a kid toy (Like the Cyberverse toys for example) with him Talking in TV like in the Movie and Season 3-4 of the original cartoon
I do it more often than you think. I'd say probably 7 out of 10 of my videos are positive. Though there are rarely this positive. And I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed this video so much. When you get it tell me how you'll like the figure.
This was the only one I was looking for the most out of this wave aside from Slug, simple transformation and it’s a cool feature that most deluxe class transformers can ride his motorcycle mode like 86 Hot Rod
Hopefully we can see a Slag/Slug video review soon. Would love to hear your thoughts about it. Really sold me on this figure. Sadly just dealing with some work stuff so Wreck-Gar and a lot of other figures are gonna have to wait.
WreckGar: New and improved junkion model! Head on down and try with no obligation! It slices and dices! Makes julienne fries! This sleek sexy import comes at no added cost!
Wreck-Gar is on sale for 26 on Amazon right now, and I've been debating on getting him. I have the money, but I'm going out of town this weekend, so I wanna save. This video definitely came at the perfect time man, it pushed me to make a decision. Wreck-Gar will be here next week, and I can't wait to get him!
If you wanna get something similar to this but larger, i suggest the KFC Junkions. depends if you wanna try an MP scale one. After the first run, they improved the hands and their transformation is fairly easy barring the frustrating bit where you have to thread the steering section through the body, it has to be done in a particular order and in a certain way. The Other neat thing is there are actually different configurations for the bike modes, Chopper and superbike style. you can also mix and match torso parts, spiky bits, pauldrons, arms, etc...
@@PerspectiveEnd You should see whats coming. Theres currently 6 of them and theres another 6 more coming. you cannot be ready for some of the absolutely wacky ideas for weapons these guys have. Also one of them is just Straight up, Cykill.
Someone might have mentioned this before but, the beard can be fixed easily. Use a blow dryer to heat it up a bit and push it into place. Works really well.
I'm 50/50 on getting Studio Series 86 Wreck-Gar. It's not that I think he's a bad figure. But I don't really have interest in the Junkions. Sure, lack of interest is my gateway to skip on the figure. But Wreck-Gar here looks awesome. His robot and motorcycle modes is both way more accurate to his G1 movie/cartoon model, and better than his previous toy figures. If I do consider getting him, I would try to get two. Having their boxes next to the sealed Siege Springer. In a reference to their old G1 toy commercial. Where Springer lands on the planet Junkion and encounters robot Wreck-Gar riding on motorcycle Wreck-Gar. And I also agree on your whole point that he should be a weaponizer. -I do hope that Hasbro does do at least the other nine named Junkions, listed from the TFWiki 86 movie page, for Studio Series 86. Rumor has it that another Junkion, name Junkyard, is coming to the toyline. Wonder if that will come true.
I will say that I wasn't much interested my self until I got the figure, the Junkieons have never really been my favorite. I think Hasbro would be crazy if they don't end up retooling this figure into the other Junkieons.
I just got mine today and I can tell this figura is amazing, at first I was mad that the wheels didn't turn in my table but then I started recording my review and it immediately started rolling lol
What would make this figure better is if hasbro repaints it in an orange and yellow variant with different heads, but I will say I think they should’ve done the thing with kup and has removable limbs so if they do repaints you could swap limbs and technically have an army
It’s a problem with my figure, I can’t pick him up without the ab crunch untabbing and him doing his best impersonation of a helicopter with his waist joint XD
I considered skipping this guy since I have POTP Wreck-Gar, but wow what a mistake that would’ve been! This guy’s great, poses like crazy and oozes personality imo. Plus, now his POTP figure works as a Junkion ally! Edit: regarding those different yet similar shots of the Junkions, the individual designs are more or less mix-match designs of three specific characters, those being Wreck-Gar, Scrapheap, and Junkyard; hence why you see Wreck-Gar riding his own alt mode lol.
Yeah, I have the PotP my self and it doesn't hold a candle to this figure. Wreck Gar is the only one I ever bothered learning the name of, and now I find out in IDW there is a Female one called Rummage.
got my hands on the second battle across time collection box set finally. Sideswipe's shoulder cannon was way too tight to the point where if i had shoved it in all the way, there was no way it would come out without snapping, some sand paper fixed that but i went a tad too far and it is now slightly wobbly. maximal Skywarp is still a great mould but it still frightens me to move the wings after my first Airazor just snapped off. No breakage yet though so that is a plus. This pack is only worth it for the improved sideswipe, if you like the Airazor mould thought, this will sell you on that too.
Idk why this is kinda strange but I have seen every single wave 1 86 figure except the voyagers no kidding the only time I’ve ever seen a 86 voyager was a few days ago with hotrod I’ve never seen a scourge. So I’m hoping I can find this figure he seems so good. Awesome video keep it up
1:50 Ik its been almost 2 years since this figure came out but to address that: Hasbro has been skimping out on plastic on ALL their toys in 2019-2020 Nerf, Barbie and especially Marvel Legends have been terribly inflated in relation to quality and it just becomes a bid for which figure to drain the budget out of to improve other figures. Thats why Kingdom Cyclonus came out so well while Optimus Primal while servicable, is definitely more flawed. But post 2020, there has been a noticeable decrease of QC errors and flaws without naming specific figures and Nerf has also been reported to improve quality now. Inflation is catching up as well tho so ironically, most secondhand, used figures older than 2 or 3 years have been dropping in comparison to whats on the official market. Essentially 50 dollars in 2017, is NOT the same as 50 dollars in 2023. 50 Dollars back then was I could live on for 2 months in allowance. 50 Dollars now is my dinner budget and maybe a drink after. We are TECHNICALLY getting what we paid for but its just a symptom of capitalism unfortunately. Transformers are more expensive and smaller because EVERYTHINGS more expensive and smaller.
I got this just yesterday. Only problem is when transforming him you can scrape the blue paint off the top of the head which was a real bummer since i love this guy
i actualy love the personality of wreck gar in animated the personality is fun and daring to be stupid and i kind of want another wreck gar that is a garbage truck and it doesn't have to be a animated version
Well, do note that they are very thin pieces. If the handlebars and spikes weren't made out of soft plastic, there'd probably be a lot of breakage reports for this guy about that
I still have the RtS one from 2010, but wouldn't mind getting this if I see it. I might even get one or two Junkion retools that Hasbro will probably release in the future.
Man this the figure I want the most of this line! I have pre ordered it and I am still waiting!!! That's it after this toy review I am going hunting for it! Once a second one arrives, be my guest... This figure is THAT GOOD!
Ba Weep Grana Weep Ninibon God, I love Wreck Gar, my first introduction to the character was Animated and his garbage truck mode, Which as a kid I thought was weird but after I watch the Transformers 86 movie, I thought I was super funny, since in animated he would be junk picking up junk. Top 10 favorite transformers
I always thought it was spelled that way my self, but apparently it's Nini Bong? It was also brilliant for them to cast Weird Al as Wreckgar. The animated version of him was great.
I certainly hope I don’t get pinned

It’s not that bad of an issue, but it is a reoccurring thing with SS where they forget a detail on a figure. SS Scavenger doesn’t have his driver’s cockpit windshield painted on him, and the first SS Dropkick is missing his Decepticon logo.
I don't know how accurate the boxes are, I mean if you look at the Sharkticon it's a very different face, and the Kup's, and Blurr's boxes as well.
I don't know if they forgot the Decpticon Logo on Dropkick I think they just didn't want to put it on because they were too proud of how real it looked.
@@PerspectiveEnd All I know is that for the Wreck-Gar box, it obviously shows that the goatee goes all the way into the cavity mold.
@@HobbieswithJose I love the Alex Milne designs but Rodimus is one I had to get used to.
Man just watched the WHOLE movie with my dad right now and gotta say, prob my fav movie EVER.
I'm so glad to hear that. It's tons of fun, but as a kid, man did it make me Cry so much. Like I had no idea that I was about to watch all my favorite characters die.
@@PerspectiveEnd yea i mean i knew they were gonna die but still brang a tear to my eye,i mean optic yeah optic :)
Thank you very much, glad I could sum up your feelings so well.
Lol
Wreck Gar Yankovic (Reference to Animated Wreck gar) is my favorite Autobot ever and just imagine a kid toy (Like the Cyberverse toys for example) with him Talking in TV like in the Movie and Season 3-4 of the original cartoon
It was soooooo Inspired to Cast Weird Al as Wreckgar.
Love this review! I’ve watched it a few times and it was what convinced me to pick wreck gar up. Always like to hear you praising ones you like.
I mean to be Fair this wave is only like 3 figures, so you were on the look out for 66% of the wave.
Hopefully we can see a Slag/Slug video review soon. Would love to hear your thoughts about it. Really sold me on this figure. Sadly just dealing with some work stuff so Wreck-Gar and a lot of other figures are gonna have to wait.
Weirdly enough just today I started feeling that feel you are feeling.
And hopefully very soon that review will happen.
WreckGar: New and improved junkion model! Head on down and try with no obligation! It slices and dices! Makes julienne fries! This sleek sexy import comes at no added cost!
Destroy Unicron, Kill the Grand Poohbah, Eliminate even the Toughest stain!
Congratulations, I hope it serves you well.
If you wanna get something similar to this but larger, i suggest the KFC Junkions. depends if you wanna try an MP scale one.
After the first run, they improved the hands and their transformation is fairly easy barring the frustrating bit
where you have to thread the steering section through the body, it has to be done in a particular order and in a certain way.
The Other neat thing is there are actually different configurations for the bike modes, Chopper and superbike style. you can also mix and match torso parts, spiky bits, pauldrons, arms, etc...
I do have some interest in those, but for now I have other priorities in terms of collecting, and I'm quite happy with the 86 one.
No one has mentioned that yet, I didn't think this was fixable. I was planning on just filling the gap with more material honestly.
My favorite thing to do with the altmode is putting deluxes on it. They fit so well.
The sharkticon looks Hillarious riding him.
Wow that thing looks like to be close in size of the retro re-release of Beast Wars Megatron I gotten yesterday
No. It's not quite that big, but it's big like Voyagers used to be, big like Cyclonus.
The fanart!
It's in you're inbox!
Thank's for the Heads Up.
I just picked this guy up yesterday ….AND I LOVE IT I love the possibility and that alt mode 🤩oh and hot rod riding on his alt mode !
He is Astonishingly good.
I got to say this is really a MASTERPIECE atleast the things that it does at the price of 30 dollars!!
Yeah I can't really see how a real Masterpiece would do any better.
4:13 I can now never unsee that. Actually I'm kinda curious about him playing kup in a show or something.
Man you should have seen that long ago they are just so unbelievably close.
I kind of want this figure now, it looks really good and the fact that other figures can sit on the alt mode is really fun. I'll wait on it.
I tried to make everyone who saw this video want it, because they should want it.
@@PerspectiveEnd It probably helps that I saw the movie in theaters last month.
I just got mine today and I can tell this figura is amazing, at first I was mad that the wheels didn't turn in my table but then I started recording my review and it immediately started rolling lol
Can’t wait for the potential repaints and retool junkions!
Yeah, I never thought I'd be saying this but those better be in the works.
What would make this figure better is if hasbro repaints it in an orange and yellow variant with different heads, but I will say I think they should’ve done the thing with kup and has removable limbs so if they do repaints you could swap limbs and technically have an army
Why Kup. But yes they need to do retools of this.
I’m surprised that your waist swivel wasn’t loose beyond usefulness, but again, phenomenal review
It's a little loose, but not uselessly so, is that a problem with the figure.
It’s a problem with my figure, I can’t pick him up without the ab crunch untabbing and him doing his best impersonation of a helicopter with his waist joint XD
This is the micro masterpiece since SS 86 grimlock
This is probably the best figure they've put out since 86 Grimlock yeah.
Put the visor down on 86 Hot Rod and have him ride Wrek Gar in motorcycle mode. Pretty cool.
It does sound like it looks great.
Now that I have an 86 shelf, as soon as that next pay comes in, I'm picking him up from my cart.
Glad I talked you into this I expect you will love it. And Cart?
Sword wielding wrists an a character who actually has a melee weapon? That’s a pleasant surprise. Looks like he’d face circles around Cyclonus.
I'll say that he and Cyclonus are on pretty even footing,
And yeah it's a rare nice Treat.
1:38 maybe Hasbro has to sell 300 overpriced deluxes/voyagers/leaders to make 1 big and good figure like Cyclonus, Wreck-gar or Grimlock
It seems like it honestly.
I honestly forgot about this guy but man this is cool
Yeah, this thing should be on your mind next time you check the toy aisle.
Shoulders pull way- way-
*shcokwave flashbacks*
Shoulders go Ah!
Another great video. Never cared about Wreckgar, never minded the Junkions, but this version looks very sweet.
I was never the biggest Wreck Gar fan my self but this turned out great.
Great video man! Wreckgars One of my favorite characters and I can’t wait to pick up this guy
Thank you, and I'm glad to bring you such good news.
I'm so happy I finally found him I've had him for 2 day and I love it.
Nice! I knew you would the thing is a damn Micro Masterpiece.
my absolute favorite 86 figure. love this thing so much. Best Wreck-gar ever. shame there isnt a nod to Eric Idle there..
Yeah how is this the one they didn't give the face of a Famous person.
got my hands on the second battle across time collection box set finally.
I'm sorry about your airazor, and yeah the Sideswipes accessories have been painted so they are too tight.
Idk why this is kinda strange but I have seen every single wave 1 86 figure except the voyagers no kidding the only time I’ve ever seen a 86 voyager was a few days ago with hotrod I’ve never seen a scourge. So I’m hoping I can find this figure he seems so good. Awesome video keep it up
Man that sucks sorry to hear that, did you end up picking up the Hotrod when you saw it?
@@PerspectiveEnd nah i should of idk why I didn’t but hopefully I see one again if I do I might pick it up
The only wrekgar ive ever owned was the reveal the shield version. This will be an amazing upgrade.
Fully Agree.
I love this figure! I hope they repaint as many times as the seekers or the lambros. Chromia would be great.
Yeah, they better, It would be foolish of them not to.
What do you think of wreak gars animated continuity couterpart, both personality and appearance.
I love the Fact that they got Weird Al to play him. It feels so fitting. The character is good too.
I really dig Wreckgar, if I can find it, I'd love to get a second one and keep it in motorcycle mode for him to ride.
Finding just one will be hard enough.
After seeing how well this figure poses I am convinced 😎
You should be. If I'm trying to sell you on a figure you know it's good.
1:50
Ik its been almost 2 years since this figure came out but to address that:
Hasbro has been skimping out on plastic on ALL their toys in 2019-2020
Nerf, Barbie and especially Marvel Legends have been terribly inflated in relation to quality and it just becomes a bid for which figure to drain the budget out of to improve other figures.
Interesting. I can't think of much more to say than that.
Ab crunch on a mainline figure is always a win
More figures need it.
I imagine that the soft plastic is probably some child protection thing
I mean the Spikes aren't soft plastic, and those are WAY more dangerous than the Handlebars.
I picked Wreckgar today and he is amazing in bot mode. Possible like a double jointed spider monkey.
I'm glad you are loving it, I always worry that I'm leading people astray with videos like this.
@@PerspectiveEnd I like you reviews because when there is a dud you let us know.
@@Jayz457 If I say something's good you can trust that I'm not just being nice about it.
This guy shall be starring in my videos as a motorcycle
He makes a great one.
okay, seriously Algorythm. why am I not getting notified of these videos *sooner*?
I think something's happened to the Algorithm. This should have been a HOT video but it seriously underperformed, just like the Sharkticon.
I got this just yesterday. Only problem is when transforming him you can scrape the blue paint off the top of the head which was a real bummer since i love this guy
Thanks for the warning, and I get why you love this.
Funky fact:
Ss86 hot rod and another wreck gar both work perfectly as figures who can ride that bike
As do the Sharkticons.
Wait what?
I got him yesterday, I can't put him down. Wreck-Gar may be 2nd in the SS86 list. Behind Grimlock, of course.
I think you and me are on the same page.
Wow, I thought the right arm spike being bent on mine was just a me thing, I didn't think it would be a widespread issue
I've seen other reviews and it seems to be.
i actualy love the personality of wreck gar in animated the personality is fun and daring to be stupid and i kind of want another wreck gar that is a garbage truck and it doesn't have to be a animated version
No Shade on that version of him. Weird Al was a great choice and he was fun.
@@PerspectiveEnd I actually loved his Minal time in the show
This is mini masterpiece it looks so good like in the movie
It's absolutely a Micro Masterpiece.
Honestly if anyone would canonically cheat their limb rotations by partly transforming, it would likely be Wreck-Gar.
That would be about right yeah.
i honestly think wreck gar is a mini masterpiece
I came to the same conclusion.
Well, do note that they are very thin pieces. If the handlebars and spikes weren't made out of soft plastic, there'd probably be a lot of breakage reports for this guy about that
The Spikes aren't made out of soft Plastic, the Spikes are in fact hard plastic.
For decades, I considered wreck gar an impossible toy to design. Well consider me impressed.
Yeah the sure showed all of us.
I still have the RtS one from 2010, but wouldn't mind getting this if I see it. I might even get one or two Junkion retools that Hasbro will probably release in the future.
A lot of people are really happy with that figure, but I think this runs circles around that.
And yeah Hasbro would be crazy to not do retools.
Man this the figure I want the most of this line! I have pre ordered it and I am still waiting!!! That's it after this toy review I am going hunting for it! Once a second one arrives, be my guest... This figure is THAT GOOD!
I hear it's on Sale, like for a lower price, on Amazon right now.
Kinda depressed since I saw this in a store and passed it up.
Well, here's to hoping it's there :)
Sorry I didn't get this review to you sooner.
Ba Weep Grana Weep Ninibon
God, I love Wreck Gar, my first introduction to the character was Animated and his garbage truck mode, Which as a kid I thought was weird but after I watch the Transformers 86 movie, I thought I was super funny, since in animated he would be junk picking up junk.
Top 10 favorite transformers
I always thought it was spelled that way my self, but apparently it's Nini Bong?
It was also brilliant for them to cast Weird Al as Wreckgar. The animated version of him was great.
I’m glad we got this figures!
I'm thrilled my self.
Shelves are bare except studio series Sideswipe and Bee in my stores. Dying to find this.
Same here. Except all I can find are ERcees.
Wreck Gar: that figure looks great
It is fantastic, probably his best figure ever.
0:29 maybe thats what the Junkion 1 in the legacy listings.
Ohhh man I hope you are right.
Also there's a wicked upgrade kit available for this.
Oh yeah, I've not seen that yet, what is it?
