BRILLIANT. Watched two nights ago- and somehow the social pyramid in its ENTIRETY was conveyed in a two hr film. In such ACCURACY and w/o CRAMMING it down our throats to convert us… The ACCURACY. It was like MY lil vengeance on privileged rich ppl mistreating the ppl they actually NEED to live in their bubbles. And DeLeon moved me to tears w/ her work.
so I don't want to ruin the film for you a bit but the message is a bit more complicated and nuanced and actually somewhat apologetic towards traditional wealthy and those in power. Spoilers ahead. When the group and social dynamics drastically switch to where the former cleaning lady and her skill set is suddenly valuable making her the "rich" on the island she does not hesitate to take advantage of her new found role and abuse her power. And thats more of the point/critique (maybe more of an observation?) of the film that given the right circumstances, we are all capable of acting immorally and abusing power when we have it. And indeed what lengths would we go to to keep it? (see last scene).
I was just reviewing some Job Listings for Cruise Staff...Luxury Cruises whereby the Staff must work 7-days a week, standing 15-hours a day...they must engage everyone they encounter and they must remember everyone's name! This was that Job!

Force Majeure made me say, "Holy cow, what did I just watch?" (in a good way). I was immensely happy that The Square was just as uncomfortable and thought-provoking. Needless to say, I am crazy excited about this film!

I just saw it today on October 28th. I had not laughed this hard in a long time. It's almost like black comedy. I loved it. I am gonna go see it again. I guessed the ending as soon as Abigail told the girl I am coming with you.

A sad and shocking news indeed. Such a talented young woman. And judging by how this film is looking, she easily could have been one of the big rising stars in Hollywood, with stardom matching Jennifer Lawrence or Zendaya. Now we'll never know. One thing stands - In her short lifetime she managed to make several unforgettable movie roles and leave her mark on film and television. A great loss.

I met Ruben Ostlund, the director of this film at Toronto Film Festival after this premiered. He thought I didn't know who he was and just a tourist (there were a bunch of people taking photos), then as he was walking away I reminded him he made history as a back to back palme d'or winner for this and The Square, he then turned around and gave me a smile. I'm happy for his success.
This movie was hysterical. The closing of the second act was stomach-turning but to see the privileged and wealthy sloshing around in their own puke and shit is worth the price of admission alone. Dolly de Leon absolutely steals the entire movie in the third act as the toilet cleaner manager who asserts herself as the new captain on the island some of the guests find themselves stranded on after pirates sink the yacht (very Lord of the Flies, there is even a nod to that).. This film could have run for another 2.5 hours and I still wouldn't have been bored. Brilliant stuff. R.I.P Charlbi You will be missed.

BRILLIANT. Watched two nights ago- and somehow the social pyramid in its ENTIRETY was conveyed in a two hr film. In such ACCURACY and w/o CRAMMING it down our throats to convert us…
The ACCURACY.
How do I Apply?
This movie was so so funny. But also beautifully shot! The message behind it is amazing! I love it
not sur I got much of a message, cept beware of old ladies with rocks
@@loupasternak the whole movie is a social-critique that focuses mainly on the power the rich has over the poor.
@@CF-zc5lh it was unfunny and pretentious. Worst movie I've ever seen.
maybe it’s the song, the build up, or the way that the camera tilts back & forth in order to mimic a rocking boat, but this is one of the best trailers i’ve ever seen. haven’t even seen the movie but i’ve watched this maybe 5 times
Force Majeure made me say, "Holy cow, what did I just watch?" (in a good way). I was immensely happy that The Square was just as uncomfortable and thought-provoking. Needless to say, I am crazy excited about this film!
Its ending still makes good dinner conversation/debate
I cannot wait to see this! It seems full of comedy, ironic self awareness, and class critique. It gives me echoes of Parasite, Beatriz at Dinner, and The Exterminating Angel.
Very sorry to hear the sudden passing of Charlbi Dean. I hope she rest in peace in heaven...such a beautiful young actress!
A smart, thought provoking film- laughed out loud and at times felt like weeping .
Sounds like a traumatic experience for you.
This is Cinema. One of the best movies I have seen in years.
while waiting for this movie, my plan is to watch all of Ruben Ostlund's work,I just finished watching the Square and I must say he is really good, he is really really good.
So happy for the Oscar nods, the film is worth every single one. Best film of 2022. Grattis Ruben från en göteborgare till en annan!!!
Looks like a twisted version of The White Lotus, Love it.
Right on. But in my humble opinion, White Lotus is garbage. This is just White Lotus without the color filters.
white lotus is a masterpice, this is garbage...grow A brain..if you find this good ...its a shit movie.
Situation looks “really bad”, movie looks fantastic. Excited to watch this weekend!
wow this is amazing film..I'm glad there are filipino crews involved in the film and they speak filipino. :D
Wow, a movie where Woody Harrelson seems to be sane, just for once.
Spoiler alert his character being sane is what's making his character go insane hahaha it's very sad
There's nothing sane about liking communism
I just saw it today on October 28th. I had not laughed this hard in a long time. It's almost like black comedy. I loved it. I am gonna go see it again. I guessed the ending as soon as Abigail told the girl I am coming with you.
This looks fun! The concept has potential, just have to see where the movie goes. I don't think I've seen anything from this director so I'm excited to experience something fresh.
I'm always rooting for "influencers" to get taken down! BRAVO!!!
@ko7577 Yes.
@ko7577 Just don't refer to yourself an "influencer" 🙄🙄🙄 and you're fine.
Not recommended for sensitive people however … The scene of the ship sinking really struck me . Definitely 💯
NEON doesn't get the love it deserves because people think it's all about A24. Which, my favorite of the year and 2020s I bet is/will be Everything Everywhere All at Once but Portrait is one of my top 10 and there are many great NEON films. I do love A24 of course but NEON deserves as much love.
This looks AMAZING!!!
my most anticipated movie of 2022. by far. it's not even close.
It was a real pleasure from beginning to the very end! A MUST SEE!
What the world needs now is love sweet love, I love that song! Also: R.I.P. to Burt Bacharach, the creator of the song!
I was JUST laughing in my head about Force Majeure...
I'm ready.
RIP Charlbi Dean (February 5, 1990 - August 29, 2022), aged 32
You will always be remembered as a legend.
💉❓. sudden adult syndrome …. = 💉
The sad thing is they will always find someone who responds with "Yes, sir!" or "Yes, mam!". But "No." is the most powerful word in the world.
Triangle of Sadness (2022)

The closing of the second act? Will there be a big flash on the screen saying this is the end of the second act? I want to make sure I don't miss it.
@@squirrelattackspidy you can generally tell where one act ends and another begins in a film depending on how the story progresses but yes this does give you visual cues too
After watching this film at a early screening. The grit and humour contrasts between the viewers expectations and Ostlunds masterpiece.
Long story short I loved this film.
What a beautifully made trailer. Hope the movie lives up to it
It does
No it does not. It is as subtle as a car crash. It reminds me of don’t look up, which was praised because it “had a nice message” although it was utter crap
Indeed, it did. Absolutely brilliant!
@@eliaschmidt9035 It's not meant to be subtle
@@eliaschmidt9035 out of all thousands of comments about this movie.. only you is the one i saw who don't like it .. probably it's bec. you're a one hell of a kind crap yes? A rare specie of useless people 🤣🤣 maybe you just don't understand the movie bec. of your utter super low IQ and comprehension 🤣🤣 way to go bud! 😅😅🤣🤣🤣
I really enjoyed this film. This director just can't miss
This is one seriously crazy movie. Worth watching.
This was an amazing film! Go watch it!!
The way he said he "sells shit" it almost sounded like he meant it quite literally. 😂
He does literally sell shit
I think he's a fertiliser industrialist, so he does in fact sell 'shit' :D 😂
@@user-tt5xj5ib1e yes, that's it
I came from the Joker 2 trailer since I remembered I heard this song here first 😂
Same! glad i was not the only one.
Same lol
i just found out charlbi passed away, exactly a month before my dad did and feel so heartbroken. so many inspiring people leaving too soon. rip.
Excited to see this in November 30. Love from the Philippines 😍😍😍😍
Can we all agree to get dressed up and go to see it in person like the olden days in honor of what appears to be a nod to true cinematic film?
10/10 thumbnail!
This could be it. The best movie to come out in years
To be honest this movie shouldn't have a trailer, because you get a better experience out of this movie if you don't know anything about it beforehand. I had no idea what it was about when I saw it other than that it was "weird and funny," and I had the best movie watching experience ever.
Very reminiscent of Fellini's And the Ship Sails On, which is brilliant satire. I'm very much looking forward to seeing this.
Why show them on land? Don't spoil the film just "tease" and let us look forward to it. It was a good trailer up to that point. Stop giving things away.
Yeah i was hoping they’ll die in that storm lol
American style trailers - a précis of the whole film in two and a half minutes, including surprises, punchlines and plot twists.
I detest them.
