If you could move the hinge from the beam to the first elbow (in the unfolded position 4:18 ) , you'd be much less likely to get a bleeding head-wound ;)

Thats not the worst idea ever... I did notice that it would be a potential hazard. The problem (that I'm sure would be easy to solve if I put any thought into it) is that the purpose of that horizontal bit is to make it relatively easy to slide the camera front and back a bit and having the hinges that I have don't have a good way to mate with the 80/20 so they're kind of bolted on in a weird way. I could honestly just re-drill the mounting holes on the hinges and fix it but knowing me I'll probably just wait until I bash my head on it before that happens... :)

Nope! Very much alive. I'm trying a new version of IKW where I do things at my own pace/make projects and videos that I want rather than sticking to a schedule and forcing it. There may be 3 videos in a week and then nothing for a couple months. But I am very much still dedicated to IKW and making stuff for everyone :)

8020 is not a brand name, it's the size of your extrusions. 80mm times 20mm. Watching your video on my tablet I think they are 2040 extrusions, but I can't judge that based on my small screen. I think the setup is kinda wobly and wonky.

I hate to contradict you but 80/20 is a brand name, 80/20 Inc to be precise about it (8020.net). The size of this extrusion is from their 10 series (inch standard), its 1020 (1"x2") though I also have the 1010 (1"x1"). You're right that it's not the most stable but in terms of functionality it's hard to beat and it's not like I'm trying to hang 50lbs of lights from it. If that were the case I would likely have built a structural lighting grid into the ceiling but that seems a bit overkill for my purposes haha. ItKindaWorks man :)

@@ItKindaWorks Big thumbs up for you, Thumbs down for me... :-)
Thanks for explaining. They look like normal extrusions you can buy everywhere, I now know they aren't. Thanks.
