Solar cells are ubiquitous in our modern world, and in this video I explain how we arrive at the circuit model for a solar cell, which is some current source in parallel with a diode.
This is part of my graduate series on optoelectronics / photonics, and is based primarily on Coldren's book on Lasers as well as graduate-level coursework I have taken in the EECS department at UC Berkeley.
Hope you found this video helpful, please post in the comments below anything I can do to improve future videos, or suggestions you have for future videos.

After 5 videos covering that topic, now I start understand that wired behavior. Now I know why photocell, get maximum voltage of 0,6 volts. And why connecting cells parallel in whole array are loosing current, even if other cells are in pick of producing power. And why photocel can't produce higher voltage. And Also why I can get very high current even if voltage is very low.
This video explain it to me very well.

Sir you got the most easy explained video for this part. Many thanks sir.
I could not understand it even with a better animation until I watched yours.

I understand why a new free electron is attracted by fixed positive charges in the depletion region but I don't understand why it is pushed beyond this region...By whom? (Excuse me for my english)

I think the charges just exit the depletion region and try to spread out. I think a more accurate drawing would show them within/around the p-n material

Very interesting, the measurements in mm of a standard solar cell of how much would it be?

can a diode model be used for organic solar cell?

You just need to incorporate drift, diffusion components to justify the diode current and photocurrent. Thanks for the attempt
